All this is in regards to refs has you have implied that the touchdown called back last night was directly related to the out come of the game some how. Is that what you are implying? I also realize that you are talking about a call years ago. Every team has them go for and against. We have had our far share of them both good and bad.
Again, I know Nederland is an outstanding school district but some of you guy's can't read or don't care to read. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT LAST NIGHTS GAME. GET IT!!!
2. As for as the Bears, they had a though season and things didn't go their way a lot. Hope for a great off-season and better luck next year.
C'mon big red. You seem to be too intelligent of a guy to make a blanket statement like that. Hooks was probably the best at working the refs. I know, here comes all the WOS faithful, but Hooks was way out on the field a lot. Whether he got all the calls or not, he sure put forth an effort. Well, maybe just that one..... ;D If you are talking about the holding call, I did not see it, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Then, when you curse the refs on the field, you are going to get multiple flags.
Actually one of the reasons Hooks won some games...because he could intimidate the refs....Gotta hand it to him, he knew what he was doing....
Hooks was a great coach and was a players coach. He'd do anything for those guys. I guess that is why WO-S has a winning record against just about everyone in SE Texas.
3.
Calls come and go both ways.  As they say it is the way the ball falls. If you really feel that one call cost yall the game last night you need to come back to reality. It was against the complete second team defense with 3 players that were pulled up from jv. Think in my opinion that if the BAD DOGS would have stayed in 7 points would have been all yall would have gotten, I'm sure you saw what happened when they got put back in shut down. If your talking about a call years ago let it go. I can say the same a few years back when Worell Grogan touch the ball 3 first plays and scored touch downs of 74,68, and 81 but they called the 81 back for a mysterious hold.( Think ref felt sorry for LCM defense). So lets all look forward to the future and good luck to Hayden Reed in track as if he needs it lol.
Again, this is a common theme for you guys from Nederland. I'm not talking about last nights game.
4.
If Ned would have left the starters in after a 21-0 lead 2 plays into the 3 rd and really hammered lcm we would be hearing about how unsportsmanlike running up the score was. You watch enough football you're gonna see officiating calls you don't agree with. Grow up and deal with it or become an official so you can right all the wrongs you've been dealt over the years. Orange county officials called this game so spew venom at them if you need to vent. The call you question was a non issue in this game. Of course another option is to improve your program. Lack of success isn't always someone els'es fault.
Read, I'm not talking about last night. Is Lucky Gamble the current Head Coach at LC-M? No. What call do you think I'm questioning? Grow up? You're the one that needs to read a post completely before making a post with no idea what game I'm talking about.
5. I guess you didn't read my post I have to have it changed to DVD and get someone with experience with highlight videos to highlight the line of scrimmage to prove my point. The coaching staff at the time with Head Coach Lucky Gamble sent clips of the original video to someone to show the refs made a mistake. I don't know if it was the UIL or the officating chapter. If you seen it go both ways then admit it that the refs could have been wrong on a few occasions against LC-M. Otherwise you are just talking out of both sides of your mouth. I could care less if you have been a fan for 52 years or 2 years. That doesn't prove anything! I post the whole video someone will state I'm bragging on a relative. Can't win for losing! For one, the whole play takes about 6 seconds so if I can get it converted to DVD and someone to highlight the line of scrimmage and highlight #42 I'm going to have to whole video done.
6.
This is all coming from a fan whose team was  1 - 6 in district. Actually, they were lucky to beat Lumberton. If memory serves me correctly, the Raiders put put 500 yds of offense in their loss. I guess there must have been a lot of bad refs this year, or at least there were only bad ones the last six games of their season.
Only stat that really matters is the final score. I'm not just a fan, I'm alumnus of LC-M. My username is due to me graduating from Lamar and I post a lot on that forum.
7. No, the game I'm talking about basically knocked LC-M out of the playoff picture. So, Nederland wouldn't complain about a bad call that can be proved wrong that cost them the game with a minute left. That was a pretty good Bears team. As they played CE King to a tie and WO-S lost to them in the playoffs. I guess you are going to say WO-S wasn't any good either. I do agree good teams overcome bad things happening but 42 for LC-M wasn't going to score again as Nederland had two players following him the last 3 plays. LC-M ran the wishbone back then. And 42 was LC-M's best player. Hard to overcome a call with a minute left!
8. Don't know anything about cursing the refs but agree there will be multiple flags if that happened. There have been questionable calls against LC-M and WO-S in the past against Nederland mainly at Nederland. Heck, I have a VCR tape of one of the calls that cost LC-M the game. If I can get it copied to a DVD and have someone with more knowledge than me highlight the line of scrimmage I'll post it and let you make the call. It is pretty obvious the RB was behind the line of scrimmage when he caught the ball and scored from about 30 yard out with a minute left in the game. Turn around and there is a yellow flag on the field for an illegal lineaman down field. That is just one I can prove by video there have been several more during the series of LC-M at Nederland. Obviously you are a wise football man, you know lineman can be down field on a screen pass as long as the receiver catches the ball behind the line of scrimmage. I'm not even counting the things I've heard from WO-S fan's after playing Nederland.
9. Thanks for the update Coach as I didn't see anything in the Orangeleader. Sounds like it was a great game. I didn't know they were ranked #4 but I knew the QB was good. Proud of the coaching staff and the Lions players for a good first season. Best of luck next week in the playoffs. Hope Wagner is 100% next week as we need him. Go Lions!

11.
Any Mid County team is 14 down when they get off the bus in Orange County.
It's well known when you play Nederland don't use officials from the Beaumont chapter because you won't get any calls going your way. Ask Dan Hooks why he always brought in Houston officials?
12. Looks like the Mustangs have that offense clicking at the right time. Of course HJ, is a great basketball school not so much in football. However, WO-S put a whipping on those guys! Congratulations WO-S and best of luck in the playoffs!
13. Heard they had a pretty good QB. If CCS had won they would have played a playoff game at home. However, now they'll be back on the road. Great first season for the Lions.
14. Actually their last out-right district title was 1965. [Hidden Content]
15.
Homecooking?
Against Nederland are you kidding me!
16. Wow, this would be huge for LC-M headed into the off-season work-outs. Nederland is already won district. Go Bears!
17. I'll be glad this season is over for the Bears. Things just never went our way!
18. WOSgrad, does this mean there are two Orange County teams in the playoffs plus Silsbee? Who plays Coldspring?
19.
QB reps should go...1, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3 etc...Until script is made on Thursday/Friday then u split 1's  and 2's w/ 3's alternate facing the opposite directions.... 8)
Then how is this...Until script is made on Thursday/Friday. The defensive, offensive and special teams game plan at Lamar are put in place by Tuesday at the latest. BTW, my brother was a WR coach at West Brook during the Chip Ambres days. He lead the Bruins to the 5A quarterfinals and was a ATM signee that went pro baseball after being drafted out of HS. Most people don't know this, Chip suffered a knee injury half way through the season and the MRI showed he was born without one of his knee ligaments. He was a stud and they didn't share too many reps between Chip and his backup younger brother Rick. You might enjoy the article as it mentions Chip passed for 320 yards. But what it doesn't state, he rushed for about 120. West Brook would have won that game IMHO if there wasn't 5 TO's. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
20. I don't know how they do it at West Brook now days or Missouri Valley College but Monday is a off day for Lamar players. Then they go hard Tuesday, Wednesday and pull back Thursday. Friday is a walk through practice and Saturday is the game. I've never been around a HS, College or Pro team that has 3rd string QB's getting reps on a regular basis.
21. Doug Prewitt seems like a very smart young man. He may not have taken "live" reps but I'm sure he did what is called mental reps. Plus, he has thrown the ball in drills and probably ran the scout team offense. So, he has thrown the ball the last 8 weeks. Per NCAA rules there is only so much time on the field with the players so it is hard to get 3 QB's ready for games. He just has to get down the gameplan for Saturday and if he plays well he'll deserve another start next week.
22. Tomball Christian Homeschool JV vs. Orange Community Christian Lions (4-3), 2:00 p.m., in Orange. I'm going to try to keep any of you guys interested in the Lions updated but may have trouble in the 4th as my brother has to do a wedding this evening.
