1. Told you guys WO-S was going find a way to win this game. Congratulation to the Mustangs and to the Tigers the rest of the season.
 2.
Thanks, 360. I was looking for a score on that one. CONGRATS, LADY LIONS!!!!!
Thanks for your support WOSgrad.
 3. [Hidden Content] The Head Coach is my cousin's wife. Congratulations CCS.
 4. Sorry to see the man lose his job. Hope he lands on his feet somewhere.  Larry Keenan former Lamar University football Head Coach's son Kyle Keenan is the WR coach there.
 5.
Season ticket holder to football games.  Been to every home game since it was restarted.  Either watched or listened to every road game. Used to be season ticket holder for men's basketball...from 1993 until I couldn't take it anymore sometime during the Mike Deane era. Used to camp out in college for men's basketball tickets to get the best student seats where we could torment the opposing team. Attended LU beating Baylor and many other games.  Remember the SHSU "rose bowl" game..but I can't recall the details of how that all came about.I even remember when we used to have a band that wore real band uniforms and not swamp people overalls.
In 1988 there had been huge fight between the two teams. Dubbed "The War of Roses," the story of how the fight broke out varies. One account is that after Sam Houston beat Lamar the two coaches walked up to shake hands, someone dropped a bouquet of black roses between the two and, before anyone knew it, the two coaches squared off after a miscommunication about it. The other story was that either someone from the student body of Lamar sent dead black roses to coach Bob Riley of Sam Houston or someone from Sam Houston sent the dead roses to coach Ray Alborn at Lamar. After the game one of them shoved them in the other coaches face. Either way, the result was the same. After seeing that, the players squared off and a brawl broke out.
 6.

I am a season ticket holder in football and basketball. See the campus quite regularly.
as am i
Same here just add WBB.
 7. There are a few kids at local HS's that are possible recruits but PA Memorial QB has committed to Baylor. The Tezeno kid at WO-S is a junior and Lamar should be recruiting him now. I like the WR at Kelly but I heard he likes UNT. Lamar has commitments from a kids at HJ and Silsbee. There are a couple of lineman at West Brook I like but their best player in a UT commit. There are other kids a PA Memorial that are talented but Lamar has never has much success recruiting Port Arthur. There is a WR from PN-G Lamar is recruiting and the RB is talented but I'm not sure he is a college RB. He may need to change positions at the next level. I'm sure there a more locals but I haven't seen a lot of HS football this year.
 8. WO-S in 1989 should have beat C.E King as LC-M tied them 0-0. There wasn't over-time back then. If the Mustang's were a little stronger in the secondary that year they would have won state IMHO.
 9.
I most humbly apologize as he went to the 4 yd line.  Please  accept this and  I will do a better job of researching.  BR is the man
Far from "the man" but I do know a little more about football than given credit. My major my freshman and sophomore years was kinesiology. Then I went into the military and changed my major after discharge. Sorry, I wasn't good enough to play college ball.
 10. Okay I'll let everyone else decide if the guy scores. [Hidden Content]
Man, I can't find anything about Bowden's name on anything at Samford but you were right he did coach there but it was a different name so that threw me off.
 12. I already did Sunshine.  Samford University football stadium is Seibert Stadium. He coached at Howard College who changed their name to Samford University. He was there like you stated from 59-62 and had a 31-6 record. I'm 44 and that is still way before my time. Heck, my favorite Pro team the Dallas Cowboys hadn't played a game yet in 1959!
 13.
Well his went for a td and was closer to his own goal line.  Just a fact not an opinion.
BTW, it didn't go for a TD.  Just a fact not an opinion.
 14. Dang, you must be retired now! [Hidden Content] I don't see Samford
 15. He coached about 50 years so what do you mean numerous times? Was that when he was at WVU or FSU? Back then against Clemson wasn't a great test for Florida State. I think FSU was ranked 3rd in the country and Clemson wasn't ranked and FSU's defense was awesome. They didn't give up 30 pts a game against DI competition. So you are talking about the Puntrooskie 1988? In 1988 FSU was ranked preseason #1. Again you are comparing FSU and Lamar? Really?
 16. I know it was as I remember the play but do you remember the situation? Was the score tied or was it a team that FSU should be blowing out and he wanted to get his team going. Are you going to compare a FSU Top 5 team and great defense to Lamar? Really? If Coach Woodard went for it against Texas College I'd probably be laughing about it.
 17.
Unless your Bobby Bowden
Even then it would be a bad call. Did I say it was 4th and 9?
 18. I rarely agree with Puddin but at least he doesn't leave at halftime. So, if you are a alumnus, student or fan's you can't question coaching decisions as well as team play? What I can't believe is SHSU fires Coach Whitten and hires a new coach and they will probably be ranked in the Top 5 FCS polls this week after beating McNeese. Coach Whitten was 3–7, 6–5, 7–4, 4–6, 5–6 at SHSU. Now, they are 7-0 two years later. You can't tell me coaching doesn't make a difference. Now, I don't expect Lamar to be at that level but I do expect a college player to be able to catch a football, I expect defensive guys to be able to tackle and DB's to be able to cover. Then I don't expect a college coach to call for a fake punt on our own 32 yard line and the game tied at 24.
 19.

Honestly, just to piss the dude off saying that all the bear fan's are whinners.
If you think for 1 minute you can EVER piss me off,  you are so sadly mistaken.  I was probably on this board when you were getting your 1st computer, so I'm WAY beyond being pissed off at someone who in reality doesn't exist.  But, since you brought this up,  look back at the thread that was intended to degrade PNG fans in general.  "Biggest Whiners"!  Seriously???  We all know who it was aimed at, and I'm loving every minute of it.  No one takes shots at you when you're on the bottom year after year after year.  Yet everyone thinks it's O.K. to bunch ALL PNG fans together as "whiners",  whether they actually do or not.  And after the schooling that LCM got last night, that's all I've read on here from you guys is WHINING!!!!  Suck it up and just admit that you got taken to the woodshed, and quit complaining about things as trivial as taking a knee, for Christ's sake.    You guys can dwell on this all yr. if ya want,  but we're looking towards Vidor right now.  BTW,  why don't you folks take this issue up with the UIL, if it's REALLY that important to ya. Oh,  and I hope that Sessar kid is OK.  I DID pray for him while you're fans were busy BOOING us!.
Just so you know not to assume too much as a select few around here do. I was abovetherim and was a moderator on the the Lamar forum for a couple years. So, I've been around for a while. "In reality doesn't exist"? Well, I'm typing at 5:00AM, I have a pretty good job and if you're ever at Christus St. Elizabeth you'll probably see me. So, that is a ridiculous statement and you are generalizing me with all LC-M fan's which is pretty hypocritical since you doing the same thing you are accusing me of doing. Which for a fact if you read all my post I never did. You must have a reading problem as I never stated PNG guys were whiners. I was saying not all LC-M fans were whiners. Big difference there my friend. Here is my post on the subject of the other team taking at knee. Nice post JF as I attended another game but I can tell you if one of our players are seriously hurt my only focus is on that young man/lady and what our trainers and medical staff or doing. I would hope the LC-M kids would be worried about a fellow team-mate and huddle around and maybe say a prayer but I could care less what the other team is doing. Both mid-county schools have great tradition and passionate fan's Then I wasn't booing anyone as I was at the WO-S vs BC game.
