2. The guy is the Phillies EX-GM and comes to Houston as our GM. During his tenure, he sent some of our best players to the Phillies. He seemingly only made important trades with them. He gets fired, and where does he go to work again? The Phillies. Ed Wade has a World Series ring for the Phillies somewhere in his house... Guaranteed.

It wouldn't make much sense when there's other FBS programs he could play at. Not surprised he's leaving UT, however.
Correct me if im wrong, but DJ has no choice but to go FCS. He will be a senior and redshirted allready at UT. Would have to sit out a year if he transfered to another FBS and would not have any eligibility left after that. FCS he can play right away.
He can go to any FBS school that offers a Master's Program that UT does not an play right away. His problem will be finding a school that offers something Texas doesn't, as UT offers dang near everything.
 4. Don't forget Slam Houston went 6-5 last year. They're not some national power, therefore their recruiting wouldn't have hurt LU much until this year. Now, however, there will definitely be a shift.

 6.
Just what Lamar needs; another 230 lb. DE. Can Lamar please recruit farther noth than Silsbee. Lamar shouldn't even look at a DL under 270. That's what they need, actual D1 sized linemen!
If you looked at D1 defensive ends, I'd be shocked if 35% of them weighed more than 270 pounds. You need SPEED off the edge, AKA 270 isn't all that quick. You need 245-250 from your DE spots.
 7.
Looks like a very good trade. The best part is that his "injury" was for mono and not some physical issue that would hamper him on the field. So far the new guy gets an "A".
If only one of these guys pan out as 5+ year starters (hopefully Weiland is I had to choose, but I've always had a nack for Lowrie) then this trade is a success. Everyone in baseball knows closers come and go like crazy, but starting pitching depth and a quality SS is hard to find. We may have killed two birds with one stone.
 8. The Astros traded Mark Melancon for RedSox young utility IF Jed Jowrie and up and coming pitcher Kyle Weiland. Lowrie has shown HUGE promise (been handed the starting SS job in Boston twice) before going down with injuries... If he can stay healthy, he'll be a staple in Houston for a while. As for Weiland, a starting pitcher, also shows promise. There's no room for him to go up with Boston's pitching depth, so he should find his way into the Houston rotation this year. Looks like a positive trade if Lowrie will stay healthy and Weiland fulfills his promising future.
 9.
Will Colin Delome of Buna make it to the bigs this year?
I'd be shocked. But, if they duplicate another year like last year, he'll get his shot in late August/September. He was a Top 10 prospect a couple of years ago, now we've seen other outfielders fly past him. I hope we haven't seen his only chance with the Astros past him by.
 10.
lol, you better hope so... marlins just offered him 10 yrs
He's dominican.. He'd get to live in Miami, for 10 years at that. I'd be shocked if he doesn't go there with a 10 year deal unless the Cards give him something crazy.
 11. Isn't Miami the cocaine capital? Or some drug like that? Someone should go check their owners bank account, and maybe the closets in his mansion. ;)
I saw Montana play UT (Tennessee) opening weekend. They are for real and could beat half the FBS teams in the country, guarantee it.
 13. Basketball will win 2 conference championships at least before football wins their first.
 14. Considering most high school coaches make 40K (ish) a year, and this thing costs about 15K, I have a hard time believing it's even the LEAST bit necessary for any program. Only a luxury.

Looks like that is the majority of what they picked up. Seemed like just a moneymaker for them. Not impressed with the camp. We do like U of H though. Good luck this season.
Rule No. 2: Baseball camps are money makers. It's no different than paying UA Baseball Factory $450 or some of these "tryouts" that I see posted on here from time to time that are charging $250 per position to have a group of "23 College Coaches" look at you. Scholarship opportunities for position players are earned and lost in the Summer. Pitchers have a magic number: 88-90+
Being a lefty doesn't hurt either.  ;)
We are currently trying to teach my 9 year old how to throw left handed. Heck, it worked for Billy Wagner. (We do not want to break his arm to accomplish this.)
Tie his right arm behind his back ;)

 17. Had the creator of this come to my school a few weeks back, the machine is unbelievable. But, it does nothing that a coach couldn't do, and it costs about half of a coaches yearly salary. So, I'd be shocked if more than a couple high schools have it, if any.
That is really a nice looking stadium!!! UNT alums and students should be proud.
Not trying to be rude or assume, but I have a friend that goes there that said it's not that great. He said they tried to hard to make it look cool, but didn't have enough money put into it for the end result to look that great. Is that true Menace?
 20. With Francona being said, I don't think Mills should go anywhere. He's been given an impossible task. Win at the big league level with a Triple-A team.
 21. I think he's gonna fit Boston pretty well. I just hope he gets ejected and pulls off another disguise.
