Man, I do t even know why I’m even having a debate with you.  It’s like I’m talking to a 5 year old.  There are some concepts I expect them not to grasp.  You really don’t know why port Arthur was brought into this conversation?  I really hope that you’re not a teacher in our district…

Port Arthur was brought into the conversation because you guys refuse to accept the facts about people not wanting to move to BMT to be coaches when they are going to take a pay cut. Unless I'm just not understanding that you think coaches from PA or PNG or Silsbee or any other recently successful school are going to be coming to BMT? You guys want complete overhauls of the coaching staff. It's just not reality. Not with things set up the way they are. Why would anyone come to BMT from any of those schools for the same or maybe very little more money, sometimes less.?

If Beaumont and BISD is so bad, why do you work there?

You post that assistant coaches make $80K, then when I post a link proving that's BS, you change it to $65K. LMAO... I actually know a curriculum coordinator in the Houston area and she says only the most tenured teachers are making $65K, so go figure. If being a teacher and coach paid like that, there wouldn't be a teacher shortage. It seems like you're the one that full of ish!

Yes that's just 65k from teaching salary... add another 10k for coaching football, and then around 4-7k depending on the other sport on average, could be even more. I personally know someone with 4 years teaching experience making 64k teaching salary, and then about 12K in other coaching stipends. It's right there for you to look since you're too lazy to google it on your own.

One of the reasons there is a shortage is gotta have a bachelors degree and pass some pretty hard certification tests.... so I guess that keeps you out of the running for a job lmfao

Here are more of the Houston area districts that, GASP, pay exactly how much I said they do. In fact, from my 10 minutes of research, I've found just a few in the entire greater Houston area that don't start at at least almost 60k for 1st year, brand new teachers. Wash down your crow with some beers.

Def true, Houston area coaches that coach two sports average around 75-80k a year. Coordinators are around 90-100k, that link you posted holds no weight and is very inaccurate. When i was at NS the starting salary was 60k(probably higher now) coaches get paid a stipend plus a certain amount of days for each sport they coach. I never made less than 80k while in education.

I have close friends that left BISD to coach in Houston and it was an extreme pay increase, not to mention most programs pay coaches for working Speed and Strength in the summer.

I agree with a lot of what BMT Truth is saying, firing the AD does nothing. The entire system in BMT is flawed from admin on down that's just the harsh reality & anyone who coaches there that knows any better will tell you this.

    • That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!
    • Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.
    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
