  1. Just another example of you guys not having a clue about how High Schools function. A 6A high school in the Houston area surrounded by apartments and lower priced rent is going to have a lot of students who have transferred in who didn't go to the middle schools. It's Houston guys - not podunk SETX. People are moving in and out of Houston at a wild rate. And parents moving to an area so their kids can excel is nothing new. It's why I live where I live - for the schools and everything that comes with it. Just way better for my kids future. A parent just has to say it was for school and education, even if it really is for athletics - or say it's for a new job. Coaches sign off on players leaving and going to other schools all the time, even when they deep down know it's for athletics. Why? Because ultimately, they're doing the whole coaching thing for the kids - not wins. Hard for you guys to accept.
  2. Every HC I've ever been around are some of the hardest working, example setting, "by the book" types of people I've ever been associated with in ANY career/profession. These dudes really out here thinking it's the Pony Excess side-show in HS ball 🤣
  3. "Talent acquisition" lmfaooooo these dudes obviously have never been in a Football coaching environment
  4. They don't even understand what is happening in SETX either bro.... couldn't draw ball on a board to save their lives
  5. Not sure about the HC spot - but they pay their teachers ABYSMALLY, which means those assistants are hustling coaching 3 maybe even 4 sports to make it. Lumberton needs to pay their teachers more.
  6. At this point I think you're trolling or never played competitive sports at any level of real competition.... My brother is Christ - there's no coach on planet Earth that can take Vidor from any era and beat Northshore. Do you have a Bachelor's degree? If you do, go try to coach ball at any school for just a few weeks and you will realize how much goes into it.
  7. I really think there is a lot of jealousy here. Are dudes mad they don't have college degrees, but coaches do? I'm sure a lot of them make more money than high school coaches, but I'm certain that many also do not. I'm just trying to figure it out.
  8. I didn't even know what his name was in real life until I saw him post it on this same thread, but ok whatever. I think a lot of people on here are low key jealous they aren't coaches. I'm just trying to figure it out.
  9. I just think it's funny that there is never an response to when I ask these people to spend just a few minutes drawing up some ball on a white board. It's the ultimate shut down for these jokers. They know they don't really know what they're talking about.
  10. If he won't come and draw up some simple ball or recognize some ball when I draw it on the white board, he should be banned from ever talking about football publicly ever again 🤣
  11. When I make those statements, they're about you bro... and the others who clearly do not. They're not about the people who actually understand it takes more than just a good coach to win. Culture & talent are the 2 most important factors. Coaches can develop culture, but it takes a village. Don't forget - high school football coaches are TEACHERS first. They are the ones spending every day with TEENAGERS and trying to get the best out of them. If you've never spent time as a TEACHER and a COACH, then you will NEVER really and fully understand the many nuances and dynamics of high school athletics.
  12. Ok I'm definitely setting it up. I'll be in town the 23rd and 24th for sure, and then coming back maybe a week after Christmas. I'll pm you. I'll keep it simple too. Keep it things I learned when I started coaching football - back when I thought I actually knew the game lol.
  13. Nope. Not personally. I just come check it out from time to time. I see one guy who actually coached ball spitting fact after fact, and then the responses from people who obviously haven't coached ball. I'm sure there are some coaches on here in disguise, tho. But they aren't spewing out the ish that you are lol
  14. If only we could set up an in person SETX Sports Forum clinic and have each of you attempt to draw some football up on a white board. It would be the greatest entertainment event of the century watching how much yall don't know. If you coached HS football in Texas, especially at North Shore, you know more than someone who hasn't. I'm almost tempted to bring some expos and a board with me when I come visit Beaumont over the holidays and post where I'll be sat up.
  15. Bruh if these jokers spent just 5 minutes in a room full of coaches on a white board drawing up some ball, they would be humbled. There is NOTHING on this Earth like football, with as many people absolutely obsessed with it, but don't actually know the technicalities, or even proper vernacular. By the way, Jimmy's and Joes includes not just talent alone, but kids that actually want to work hard - and know how to work hard. There are reason's beyond athletic talent that suburban schools are usually the most successful football programs, and inner city schools struggle.....
  16. This forum is hilarious bro. A bunch of grown men who if I drew up football on the white board couldn't distinguish between A and C gap, a 4i and a 5, a shade and a 3 tech, zone or gap scheme blocking, and about a million other things. If you never coached, your opinion is just not as valuable as someone who has. Facts. It would be like a coach saying they know more about the plant you work at. They don't. For instance - if I were to mention something about "Heel line", a football coach would immediately recognize what I'm talking about and the only few scenarios of the game I would be talking about. Same thing if we were watching film and I mentioned something about "spilling". If you just had too google search that without immediately understanding and being able to recognize football vernacular, you don't know anywehre near as much as you're claiming about this game you love so much. Those are just small, simple examples. Every single football coach on planet Earth is going to tell you it's Jimmy's and Joes, not X's and O's. Every single one. But hey, you guys just know more.
  17. Thank you. As far as I know, I've not broken any rules of the site. I will admit to being an @ss about things sometimes tho 😂
  18. I see now your response to that question. Internet kept going in and out. My bad. Again, I'm not above admitting when I make mistakes or I'm wrong.......
  19. Lol ok well great set up y'all got here. Set up to just doxx people when you don't agree with them. Whatever. I don't really care. I haven't said anything that ain't the truth.
  20. Interesting. So how do I look at users email accounts then? Because I'm not seeing it when I pull up anyone elses profiles?
  21. I mean, are you going to Doxx me? Isn't that only privy to you as an admin/staff member?
  22. dude that's what they make when you include their STIPENDS with their teaching salary. Why is that so hard to understand?
  23. Here are more of the Houston area districts that, GASP, pay exactly how much I said they do. In fact, from my 10 minutes of research, I've found just a few in the entire greater Houston area that don't start at at least almost 60k for 1st year, brand new teachers. Wash down your crow with some beers. [Hidden Content] Hiring Schedule.pdf [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  24. One of the reasons there is a shortage is gotta have a bachelors degree and pass some pretty hard certification tests.... so I guess that keeps you out of the running for a job lmfao
  25. Yes that's just 65k from teaching salary... add another 10k for coaching football, and then around 4-7k depending on the other sport on average, could be even more. I personally know someone with 4 years teaching experience making 64k teaching salary, and then about 12K in other coaching stipends. It's right there for you to look since you're too lazy to google it on your own. [Hidden Content] Placement Table.pdf
