Tiger defense came to play last night. Great job defending the pass, getting 2 picks and defending the run, containing Caddie who came into the game averaging 183 yards per game. Silsbee D got 6 sacks last night led by our Hamburger Depot Player of the Game Roderick Harper. The senior DE recorded 10 tackles, 3 sacks and a fumble recovery. Livingston came in averaging 513 yards a game, Tigers held them to just 268 for the night.

Silsbee offense finally got the running game going. 251 yards rushing after only rushing for a total of 87 yards in first 2 games. Silsbee was led by Tavoris Brooks who had 106 yards rushing and 2 TD's. Soph. QB Chase Partain had a good night passing going 15-27 for 220 yards and 2 TD's. He also rushed for 59 yards. Kolton Mackey and Ryan Kirkendoll where the main recipients each making 6 receptions with Mackey getting 103 yards and Kirkendoll getting 79 yards and 2 TD's. Kirkendoll now has 5 TD's in first 3 games and Mackey has 18 catches for 277 yards in first 3 games as a varsity player.

Good first win of the season for this young team. Definitely something to build on.

Partain step up big last night.. I was very happy how he took charge and made some very great passes last night. If he keeps it up Silsbee should have a very good district run.. Go Tigers :)
