We will see, If the Kelly QB can play well at WB or Silsbee to beat their returners out & start then the offers are more then on his "potential" from playing at Kelly & camps.

I would say it's almost a lock he goes to WB.  The kid said in the past publicly that's where he was going to go, not to mention he lives in Beaumont and already his head coach is now on the WB staff.

After talking to a coach yesterday that left WOS after the new hire of the head coach I predict WOS football program will start their decline next year and definitely the next year an thereafter. What I was told about the way everything went down is pretty disturbing and disgusting. There decisions will come back to haunt them.

    Elaborate

if they are building new homes and people moving out that way, how can their numbers stay down or decline?  i mean, all you have to do is drive thru there and you can see expansion to some degree..........how does that not impact enrollment

Classification is determined by HS enrollment.  Most of the growth to Lumberton is young families so will take a few years to get to HS.  Other campuses at Lumberton are full to the brim.  They will be 5a soon.

I dunno... You'll get the fat boys that are playing Tuba in the marching band to sign up and the kids who are JV Juniors to stay in the program... the problem is how do you get that talented kid (and his folks)  that just wants to play baseball to get excited about football camps and STJFL instead of select ball with enough time to develop before the program actually turns the corner?

Sophomore starting tailback in 2017 didn't play his junior or senior year... he already had interest as a pitcher.  The starting qb from 2014 sat out his senior season because he was already committed to UT to play baseball.  It's not just pitchers... the all district catcher from 15-17 or so never played football.  It's a given that your catcher would probably make a FINE linebacker... just not in BC.

I'm not hating on the baseball program, but its success comes at the expense of football in Bridge City.  You can't have 26 district championships in baseball and two in football... something is just off.

Matt Menard, Cameron Dishon, Johnny Dishon all played football and baseball at BC, all still went D1 in baseball.  It can be done. Those are just the 3 names that stick out in my mind.

If they continue to run the Slot T I don’t think they win many games, Dubois was special with that offense and I don’t think there are many coaches that can run it effectively that are looking for jobs.

Most kids don't wanna play slot t put their hand in the dirt. If you go spread at least you have a better chance of getting the basketball and/or baseball kids.  Need a spread quarterback? Recruit the short stop.

I typed something similar last night but never posted it.

YEAR: 2075, the children who were in 1st grade at WOS in 2022 are now grandparents and… WOSHS is looking for a new head football coach. There is concern in the community however because Dan Hooks scheme might change if an “outsider” is brought in.

    But…. wasn’t Hooks an outsider?

    :)

    No, Hooks worked under McCarty.

Don’t knock the black coach, Burkeville had a good one for years and won two state championships.

Black, white, brown, yellow doesn’t matter. If you can coach, you can coach. If you care about the players they will see that. All this BS is from people who haven’t been in a huddle. Nothing matters but winning and shaping young men. May the best man get the job.

Max out?!?! Stump NEVER allowed that during the season and never would have allowed that if he were still at Brook. Whoever is in charge of strength and conditioning needs to be let go too.

Guarantee that they don't do that Katy, North Shore, SLC, etc.

Those schools actually still do max during season. Listened to John Kay of NS talk for an hour about how part of the success is their whole program lifts 5 days a week and continues to max during season. Maybe things have changed since most of you guys played in the 80s and 90s.

Lived in both communities and know people from both, but always found it curious why people hate BC, but OF gets a break.  The two communities are tied together through and through, sharing boundaries off 1442, 408, 62.  I wish both teams the best and sometimes you are up and other times down.  BC will rebound (too many people moving in), and OF will continue to grow.  I like what Coach Smalley is building at OF.

BC is equivalent to PNG, OF is equivalent to Nederland. If you know, you know. BC sucks. WHO BELIEVE?!!

People like you are the ones that give Vidor a bad name. What a jackass.

    Brandon Faircloth

    96 wins

    67% of his games.

Faircloth led teams have scored 4776 points

Faircloth led teams have averaged 33 points per game in his time at PNG

Faircloth has coached in 18 playoff games

Faircloth has 10 playoff wins and 8 playoff losses (4 of those losses to State finalist or State Champions)

Faircloth has made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs 4 times

Faircloth has made it to the playoffs 11 times

Faircloth has made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs 6 times

Faircloth has one of only two ever undefeated district championships in PNG history. (The other the 1946 undefeated champion Indians).

Faircloth will become the winningest coach in PNG history this season.

Faircloth has 4 10 win seasons.

in 2009 Coach Faircloth was Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Coach of the Year

in 2009 Coach Faircloth was Texas Football Magazine 4a Coach of the year

in 2011 Coach Faircloth was the US National team Offensive Coordinator

in 2012 Coach Faircloth was the US National Team Offensive Coordinator

in 2013 Coach Faircloth was the US National Team Offensive Coordinator

in 2014 Coach Faircloth was the US National Teams head Coach

in 2015 Coach Faircloth was the 22-5A co-coach of the year

in 2016 Coach Faircloth was the US National Team head Coach

in 2018 Coach Faircloth was the Under Armour All American Game Quarterbacks Coach

in 2019 Coach Faircloth was the Port Arthur News Super Team Coach of the year.

These are some of his accomplishments. Like him or not these are all facts!

Faircloth is a winner & good person.  I know PNG wants a state title every year, but understand how hard it is to get there.  There is a lot more talented teams than PNG that have never been to one.  It took WB almost 40 years to go back and look at the history of all the talent to go through that school.
