HF’s 6’4” 340 lb tackle getting hurt last game isn’t ideal against a run heavy team. Shepherd hasn’t been able to stop the horns, but they’re controlling the clock and get the ball to start the 2nd half. -

Port Neches-Groves (43) @ Montgomery (38) - FINAL
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Had a PNG fan on fb claiming this one would be a blowout and basically implying I was an idiot because I said Montgomery was going to score some points this game. He claimed they would only score against the PNG backups once the blowout had happened. I hope he’s on here and sees this, and I also hope the Indians figure this out and get the win. -
Shepherd (16) @ Hamshire-Fannett (37) - FINAL

Big kick return to open the game and then a score a couple plays later. Unfortunately not getting to tune into this one, just happened to be on the phone with my wife at the game -
Would be curious to see if the computers would win if someone exclusively picked based on them next year

35-21 was my prediction, but since it looks like they don’t kick I’ll go 35-22. -

Parker Sebastian has made some nice plays the last few weeks. Just a sophomore. Needs to put on some size, but he’s got plenty of speed! -
The right is offering a clean bill. The left, who as you point out has zero branches of control, is trying to hold the bill hostage to force liberal policy. But it's the right's fault. It's wild watching you guys spin it. It's gonna hurt y'all in the long run, though. The fringe lunatic left are the only ones actually buying it. I guess it makes sense that the party of entitlement thinks they're entitled to get something they want out of an unrelated bill to keep the government open and then blames everyone else when they don't get it. But hey, keep alienating those swing voters and moderates. Y'all already have the SNAP vote, so the republicans aren't losing anything there. Besides, it's not like most of them can't figure out who's really behind this all anyway.

I'm not downplaying the fact that the pirates have improved this year, but the best wins on their schedule are against 3A teams with 3-5 records. Most of those matchups against weak 3A schools were somewhat competitive, too. two wins against 4A squads with a combined 1-15 record. A 42-6 loss against the only good opponent faced all year. If there was a matchup between HJ and Shepherd tomorrow in the pickems I would pick Shepherd, but nothing that's happened this year screams that Shepherd is lightyears ahead of the Hawks to where anyone should be 100% confident that the pirates would win that matchup. I'm comfortable saying that if the two teams swapped schedules they'd come really close to swapping records as well.

glad i read to the next page before i responded with exactly this. you're correct.
-
because you're the one regurgitating the mental gymnast talking points. I thought you might be dizzy from all that spin.
-
I appreciate this explanation of the mental gymnastics, but I already knew what it looked like. Are you dizzy yet? The fact is Democrats are trying to hold the country hostage and force through policy that they can't pass through regular means because their party is such a dumpster fire they've managed to lose control of all branches of government over the last 4 years. They then have the gall to blame republicans for democrats not giving the votes needed to open the government back up, and a lot of their base is dumb enough to believe it. The problem for the left is that the moderate voters are NOT dumb enough to believe it. So while the lunatic fringe may rally around this foolishness and go join a protest and burn something down or whatever it is they do when they're mad, the left is hemorrhaging even more swing and moderate voters through this stunt. The left is like a kid who isn't good enough to win so they take their ball and go home so nobody can play and then blames everyone else for the game ending.
-
I'm struggling to understand the mental gymnastics it takes to blame this shutdown on anyone other than the left when the right has already passed a clean CR pushing no republican agenda to open the govt back.
-
At least they have a semi-realistic argument. West Brook beat Eisenhower, Lumberton, and MacArthur and couldn't believe they were behind other schools who were 3-0 against better teams, and who've consistently made the playoffs the last several years.
-
on a positive, their fans have quit complaining about not getting respect in the local rankings on facebook

I'm reasonably well-connected out here at HF and haven't heard anything about this. But hey, you never know I guess.
