What specifically am I wrong about!? Go check them out at camp fun, or walk the hallways during transition an tell me I'm wrong. Some people have no clue on what it takes to win at the level PNG is winning right now. Can Nederland improve from how awful they've been the last few years? Yes, but they WILL NOT make deep runs in the playoffs with the kids they have up front!! Smh, people acting like Nederland is a coach away from going to State haha what a joke. Until Nederland emphasize kids to be multi sport athletes, Skill positions running Track and Lineman participating in Powerlifting as well as get some quality Big kids moving in to the school instead of kids who can't speak English then they will have a HUGE hurdle/hurdles to get over.
You are wrong about so many things. Let me list a few:
You sound like a racist and a bigot
You are the one who has no clue on what it takes to have a successful football program (spoiler alert: it starts with the coach)
People like you are the ones that complain and gripe and are just as detrimental to a football program as anything else
I'm going to stop there... Plenty more to list with the more posts you make though...

The article said he was actually relieved of his duties. I wonder why?!
I heard it's because he had not won a state championship in his first 7 years. 🤷♂️

Do you know who the finalist are? If not how can you say they haven't had success and been to state before?
@2wedge didn't state "they haven't had success and been to state before". You said that. He said in a supposition, "I cannot imagine there is another candidate on their list who is as credentialed as him. " It's his opinion, and he stated it as such. No harm, no foul. I'm sure his opinion is based on the assumption that the Orangefield AD/HC job isn't attracting droves of state finalist coaches. Sounds fair to me...

Unfortunately, I finally did just that. Lol. As far as the rest of your soliloquy, I agree 100%

Nederland is down down, they can't and will not win in the trenches. The D-line will be better than the O-line but that's not saying much AT ALL!! Until they get some lineman Nederland will be average at best!! I feel bad for the running backs, I hear Mosley is doing some things to keep the running back for Nederland which seems a lil fishy but hey you have to do what you have to do to keep the best athlete on the team I guess. I just don't see Nederland getting to PNG's caliber no time soon. The demographics has changed tremendously at Nederland. A huge influx of mexican students have stormed in, plenty who can barely speak english, and don't play football. If they do anything, it's soccer. Nederland has definitely changed and not for the better!!
You're a silly man. How many moons are in your world?

Ned is down. New head coach & staff will have to change the whole mentality of the program from the bottom up & get all players\parents\community to be 100% all in with the new regime.
That's kinda the reason for hiring a quality head coach, right?

To say nothing can change is shallow. Any school can change with good leadership which can improve student interest. Any school can have an unexpected or expected run of talent. May generate a state run but can improve enthusiasm.
You missed the beginning where @bullets13 said basically what offense brings them to the state championship. Then someone quipped about coaches and / or players. I never said “nothing can change”. The discussion was geared towards having a state championship team, however. Not being shallow. Just being honest with my opinions.

Yeah, I'd like to be on the flight where the plane being used was inspected by a paralyzed, one-armed dwarf who can't see real well and scored a 300 on the SAT. Don't ask him questions cuz he can't hear you. He can't test the flashing light systems either, because it sends him into an epileptic fit.

Nothing new... They've been doing it at the White house for 3 years now.

Here is the thing, the gloves are legal and not disallowed by rule. If you want to spend the money on it, more power to you. Its part of the game at this point. And PNG overcame a perceived or real disadvantage and won.
Agree wholeheartedly

But it is when you are trying to teach kids to follow the rules and the people who are in charge of enforcing the rules don't do it.
Do you or any of your coaches teach lineman how to hold without getting caught? Teach DB’s to tug on a shirt or hook a receiver? If one of your kids gets away with a penalty without getting flagged, do you teach them to turn themselves in? I could come up with tons of examples to refute your comment above, but I feel like you get my point…

The same applies for many schools in this area. Not just Orangefield...

Maybe that's the problem. They should be running same stuff. I know peevy worked getting the same concepts for the kids all the way down to the peewee levels at lcm. That's important.
Pretty sure WOS has always ran similar systems all the way down too.
Wouldn't matter if they were teaching the same system all the way back to the cradle. None of the 3 necessary components exist: coaches, kids & community. All are middle of the road...

Not to defend the cowboys by any means, but if packers played like they did today they have a shot beating the 9ers…
The difference is, the ‘Niners won’t play piss poor football like the Cowboys did last night. Freakin embarrassing.

unfortunately this site doesn't have the technology for me to bust out the crayons and draw you a picture so that you can understand what I'm saying. No, I'm not saying they are a bad team. You basically are, though. The point I'm making is that there are MANY, MANY local teams who ARE BAD who would have loved to field the teams and have the results that Orangefield has had over the last decade running the slot-t. Ironically enough, two of the local teams who would gladly trade places with Orangefield over the last decade both had success for a couple of seasons each WHILE RUNNING THE SLOT-T, only to fade back into nothing when they switched offenses.
Not completely true. Lumberton made 2 2nd round appearances post slot t (2018-2020 I believe)

What does Buna have coming back next season?
Not sure exactly, but I do know they had a lot of seniors on the team last season.

so wouldn't that in turn reduce the amount of suitable candidates with aspiring dreams of becoming "the guy" to lead a program (where football matters)?
Just in the case for Buna, do you think they are really looking for a guy that can bring them to the dance, or probably just looking for a decent coach that won't destroy the program that's good with kids? I'm guessing the latter.

Going to be very tough getting a quality head football coach.
No AD title and will be required to teach a subject and not PE.
That’s definitely a tall order.
