    Brook - Craig Stump Central - Donald Stowers Ozen - Thomas Brooks I know Brooks was a little earlier and Yes maybe these schools had better individual coaches in other years but I feel like around 2004 -2005 when Stump started at Brook and Stowers was in his 2nd year at central I believe that may have been the best collective of coaches in BISD . anyway this is Brooks vs Ned thread. Congrats Brook on starting 1-0

    It all starts here. Both teams have strong chances to play 16 games. 98 Newton only lost 1 game but still won their championship. Guess who? I could see that happening again this season. Here's to no injuries and giving us a reason to head to At&t a day early again. Good luck to our friends up north the rest of the way.

    You are correct… 3-4 year’s ago in week 3 WOS took PNG to OT losing 26-20.. WOS ended up getting blown out in bi district and PNG went on to win a state championship. Crazy

    I knew Axtell was good and has a dynamic QB but I really thought SA would have put up a better fight. Sure didn't have Axtell winning by 5 TD's. Axtell is ranked #6 but they could be even better than what some thought. SA is #15 but maybe they are not as good as some thought.

    Pretty much what the non-district games are for is figuring out what works and doesn't and adjusting and getting the right personnel in place. There have been years that Ned was 0-3 in district and went three rounds deep in the playoffs. They have a pretty tough non-district so they are getting some good experience against other good teams in the area.

    I digress. Craig Stump took over in 2005, and what do you know, they made the playoffs for the first time since 1997, and went three rounds deep. The coach makes all the difference. Chuck Langston is a lame duck coach.

    That would be the Chuck Langston era. Since he has been at the helm, 2020, they have failed to make the playoffs. Sad since we're only 8 years removed from a 6A state title appearance. Talent wasted.

    The reason those Al Rabb teams sucked so bad, was because your boy Carroll Thomas wanted neighborhood schools, again, and all those kids (talent) from the Pear Orchard stayed over there, and left the no talent kids from the West End to hold down the fort.....which failed miserably. When Ozen went went away in 2005, low and behold, West Brook was back in the game, with Craig Stump.

    I saw. Makes no sense. Buna should be much improved from last year. Lots of returners. However, those returners are almost exclusively sophomores and juniors. Still very few seniors on this team.

In 50 years of coaching in Bellville she has a resume of 1306 wins 9 State Championships 5 State Runner ups 6 State Semi finalist 20 Regional Championships 26 Regional Appearances 39 won or Co District Championships and still counting!!
