  1. look, i voted for him, would vote for him again over Kamala or Biden. but expecting folks to "not dwell on the negative" is not reasonable when the president is constantly doing and saying negative things. And people can be for making the country great again and still not think that trump is doing it. I like some of the stuff he does, hate some of the stuff he does. I hate how he makes the country look when he talks. I think his ego plays a bigger role in his decisions than any desire to make america great again. I fully don't understand people who can't criticize the man or who constantly downplay everything he does that rightfully upsets people.

  3. He’s very very good at getting kids recruited and to the next level. He connects well with the athletes and a very hard working like able guy.

  4. I don't know if you could consider the facilities great. Baseball and softball? Yes. Football? Good but not necessarily great. Certainly no indoor practice facility. The weight room isn't state of the art and there are way better gyms in our area. I would consider the facilities as a whole as good to very good. Not great. Shoemaker had better facilities. Best thing going for Coach Foreman is he will be in 4A D2 and not 6A. Also, back home (SETX) where he has always wanted to be. I really believe he will do quite well at Jasper. Much better than Crumedy.

  6. Right. But so many already knew that I am not surprised it was announced before the school board meeting tomorrow night. I do agree. Toby has his work cut out for him but I think he's up for the task. I was told he will take a pay cut but will be allowed to bring in some coaches of his choice. It's my understanding this is the 3rd time he has applied for the Jasper job. Third times the charm.

  7. For me personally, because I was asked to keep quiet by the two parties involved. It's about keeping good relationships. I learned of the hire last week. Was asked to not release the news until Coach Foreman could inform his players. I don't think that's too much to ask. I have always tried to do what the coach has asked in those type situations. Can't speak for other media entities. If you notice, KJAS has no direct quotes from either party. Meaning they hadn't spoken with Coach Foreman or Jasper supt.

  8. There are Republicans angry that Trump didn't say nice things about Mueller upon his death. These Republicans have always been about some sense they have of honor and dignity. As long as Democrats are polite about destroying you, or Trump, or even Republicans, these Republicans will be proud to say nice things about them. This was the Bush way. The Romney way. Better to lose with grace and give up your country than be impolite. The American people do not respect the Swamp the way these Republicans do. That's the difference. This is the Trump/Establishment divide. Simple as that. Michael Berry

  9. Good decisions, bad decisions, what makes America great again, positive, negative, is all subjective. It depends on your values, culture, principles, what side of the track you live on, etc. We won't all agree.

  10. Fine, I understand, but for some people, that’s where they live…..in the negative. When all someone sees is negative, why should I be chastised for only seeing the positive? Can’t help it, I’m a positive person.

  11. It matches fine - his post said "the united states of America and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days ......." Go ahead and believe Iran. I'm sure you believed CNN about Russiagate.....

  12. Shepherd returns 18 starters. If Jasper has a shot at beating any of those three, IMO it would be HF. Personally, I got Jasper missing playoffs again.

  13. Shepherd bringing back 18 Jr starters with potentially 3 D1 players on the DL. Shepherd going to be a tough out for everyone. Going to be rough in 2027 after they all graduate. I do expect Jasper to be better and to round back into normal Jasper form next year.

    The Save Act

No ICE officers have been formally charged with murder in recent deployments. My understanding is there are investigations ongoing in some instances. Namely the 2 agents that lied. But, even they haven’t been formally charged yet. This is where you get yourself into a bind. You use very inflammatory language to embellish events, or flat out make up your own events, to get some type of satisfaction to justify your beliefs. Just state what you have info to back up without the inflammatory language. If it’s bad enough, it will be obvious.

To answer the question as far as this website goes as to why the baseball coverage isn't as much as football and basketball, there are two specific reasons, One, our beloved admin Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) is no longer with us. Todd was the man that took care of pretty much everything here at SETXsports. He was the one who posted schedules, game threads, scores and standings for our coverage area teams in all our sports. It was a big loss for us when he passed away in August of 2021. Since then, we have never been able to completely fill his shoes. He was such a special person and we miss him dearly. Second, in the summer of 2022, I decided to retire (in hindsight, semi-retire) from the site. I had told my wife that when she retired as a school teacher, that I would retire with her so that we could spend more time at the beach together. I would no longer do any broadcasting and would take a step back from my admin duties. I told the owner (Jordan Wilson) that he would need to get some other mods to handle those duties. Jordan asked me to stay on for a little while until he could get others to take over. So I did. We had Bigdog and WOSdrummer99 take over the football forum as far as schedules, pickems, scores and standings. They have been a big help in that forum. Jordan went with a bot system to create game threads and the scoreboard thread. I helped when needed. Football forum is in good hands. As for basketball, several of the area basketball coaches were concerned that the basketball forum would die off without me tending to it. So they asked me to stay on and take care of that forum. I talked to Jordan about it and we agreed that I would handle that forum on my own with the understanding that after basketball season was over, I would not handle anything else until football season. I put a lot of love and effort in that forum and many folks have expressed their appreciation. But, those days are numbered as well. I honestly don't know how much longer I'll continue to take care of that forum. One, maybe two more years. We will see. As for the baseball forum, KF89 has done the best that he can with posting schedules and scores. I know how tough it is to try and do it all by oneself. It's really beneficial to have others invested in posting info in the forum. I was hoping other mods or members would help in that regard. A lot of truth has been stated in regards to the popularity of the three sports, particularly on this website. Football is definitely king and always will be. Basketball has always had more traffic on the site than baseball. I admit that part of that is how we (I) cover basketball much more than baseball. But even so, the basketball forum has 100,000 more posts in that forum than the baseball forum. It is what it is. KF89 is doing what he can but until we get others to commit to help out, the baseball forum will lack. Don't ask me, I am about to start my 4 1/2 month vacation from here. lol
