Everything you says is true. Imagine that. They create an Act to protect themselves from legal opposition, even if they are in the wrong, and most are. Most are lawyers themselves anyway. They implemented no term limits. They provide themselves with elite health insurance, different from the American public while regulating our health insurance. They vote to shut down our government, halting services and pay for our government employees, except for their pay. They never miss a payday. The list goes on of their preferential self-serving treatment. No sympathy here.

A couple of things here....first, congress was never intended to be a career. I don't give two craps about protecting a congressman's "career". Secondly, why does a politician get to use tax payer dollars (slush fund) to fight off allegations of wrongdoing (most cases are sexual misconduct)? If you get accused of sexual misconduct in your job, does your company pay for your lawyer? In most cases, no. Just one more reason for term limits for these leaches in Washington on both sides of the aisle.

Yet according to Reagan it's his fault they did not make the playoffs this year. Perfect example of the Jimmy and Joes vs. Coach argument.

On the basketball board is a real world application of this topic: Coach Joubert IS an elite coach. He has won multiple state championships and yet did not make the play-offs in what many would consider a "weak district." He is still an elite coach this season too. Period

DCTF website crashed which also controls Texan Live. They are feverishly working to get the sites up asap. Been down since about noon. I spoke with one of the TL guys and they weren't too confident that the site would be up by 6pm. We will see. He did tell me that all the games that were going to be on Texan Live will still be on the NFHS platform.

I am still holding. I buy good companies with solid history, and good divvies. ETF’s are just a basket like mutual funds that are treated like stock, so they’re more liquid and don’t have the fees mutual funds typically do. I was hoping to buy more of one I own already purchased last year (NLR - a side play on AI & nuclear power generation), but they didn’t drop as much as I’d hoped and I also got a little skittish. NLR is the ticker if interested. We bought about a year ago. It’s done what I’d hoped so far. I think nuclear is a good bet with all the data centers coming online. But, just a guess like the casino. Hopefully, a little better odds. We obviously have a majority in investments as it’s our income. I move around. But, don’t ever remove except for a monthly check for us to live on.

Made sense to me the first hire. They went .500 for the first time in a decade or two - so made sense to me to hire internally and continue building. Baffling now to fire two coaches in a row and hire yet another on the same staff. I feel like it's good old Warren just banging their head against the wall. In regard to the Sup (left us at the end of 2023) - he's a Woodville guy so I pull for him. However, I feel like it is getting redundant. The basketball team has improved greatly since he has arrived, but the football team has tanked... HARD and the baseball program is the most underachieving group in the region. It is all kind of sad because I was hoping that Warren would get good and we could have a great rivalry renewed here in Tyler County. I was curious and looked up the last decade of Warren football. This year with Bud Adams, Warren went 1-9 (0-9 vs UIL schools). Hopefully this new coach will stay a while - but recent history is telling us that he won't have a lot of support.

Joubert simply forgot how to coach basketball this season, plain and simple. Can't blame this on the talent level he had to work with.

This is the exact reason I asked if Elite coaches existed outside of football. Because you have a man that won a state championship in high school, and then won 3 state championships as a head coach running the same exact system that his school has been running since before he took the job. And then less than one calendar year after winning his 3rd state title as a head coach.. his team didn't finish better than 5th in a district that isn't impressive at all. "Elite coaches can win anywhere" is an invalid argument.
