My issue is this: when one side feels strongly about something they use a government shutdown to push an unpopular agenda. The other side roundly and rightly criticizes them, blames them, etc, while the offending side holds the country hostage. But then when the situation is reversed, both sides switch spots, with the OTHER side trying to force an unpopular agenda with their opponents roundly and rightly criticizing them for it. The hilarious part is that both sides love to talk about how hypocritical the other is. Which is true. Both sides are correct.

Is Trump also two-faced for criticizing the left for this after he shut the govt down for 35 days to try and force funding for the border wall? (He is). The left is full of kooks, but it's still funny seeing the right complain about things that they celebrated when the right previously did them.

Picking Big Ned in a close Homecoming battle. Parades, pretty girls in sparkly dresses, bonfire and all the hoopla will hopefully pump these guys up. Since Dayton wears purple...well you know.

This one’s interesting. It comes down to whether Nederland can move the ball enough to keep up with Dayton’s offense. Dayton’s offense is fast, executing well, and capable of scoring in bunches. They’re going to score on Nederland, and I think they’ll score a lot. Nederland’s offense showed improvement against Splendora, and while I think everyone would agree Splendora’s not representative of anyone else in the district, I’m also going to give Nederland the benefit of the doubt that the offense is steadily improving at some rate greater than zero. Dayton’s defense doesn’t seem to be doing anything special, but they’ve mostly played pretty well. I think it’s a mismatch. Nederland won’t be able to stop Dayton for four quarters, and I don’t think Nederland’s offense can keep up. I’m going to go with Dayton, 42-17.

Also, I dare anyone to go back 20-30 years and find a video of Trump saying just the opposite of where he stands today, especially on the issue of illegals.

I see your angle, but the border wall is pro American, while healthcare for illegals is anti-American. That makes a huge difference to me. Plus, Hillary was against illegals in the video, then she was for open borders. Again, that’s an about face or two faced. As for the government shutting down, it’s like LRF said above…..”Oh No”.

They are also having a tournament on Dec. 4-6. First time ever for them to host a tourney. Believe that will make 4 tournaments in Orange County for this up coming season.

Dayton losses one out four games by 6 pts to a very good Montgomery team and DCTF goes all Rodney Dangerfield on us. I'd be curious on how they came up that prediction? Maybe big Ned will take care of business or maybe Dayton will show everyone why they are play off bound! We will find out soon enough.

Shepherd High School lost 2 seniors of impact to graduation in 2025 but are gaining at least 3-4 freshmen that are select/travel players to replace those losses. A few of the sophomores found travel teams and kept competing over the summer. Coach Martin has one Division 1 commit in Isabelle Hooper (UT Arlington) Senior 19-4A Pitcher of the Year, Jayce Wilson Senior power hitter/pitcher returning from injury, Skylee Lagow a sophomore that plays for Hustle National and she anticipate 2 more commitments before signing day. They lost in the Regional Semi-Finals to the eventual 4A DII state champions Waco Robinson in two games, but the games were CLOSE, Shepherd had runners in position and 1 or 2 extra hits away each game from beating Robinson and if you look at the rest of Robinson's game to the Championship, they were a series of blowouts. 2026 should be a very exciting season imo for Shepherd High School Lady Pirates
