  1. Hightower. Yes (the loss I predicted. 6A D2 regional finalist) Cleburne. Nope United. These kids been knowing each other since middle school so no Ball. From what I saw, they could be 5-0 when PA takes the ferry to the Island so yes Cove. Revenge game regardless on how the trip to the island goes. Opinion from a man who reads, watches, and played the game

  2. A lot do work, for cash, and never pay a cent in taxes on their earnings. Then they wire a lot of that to central and south America. Meanwhile, they depend on welfare, WIC and free medical care. Thats how their underground economy works.

If memory serves, PN-G returned 15 of last year’s 22 starters. As @Rez pointed out, we have some things to fix coming out of the Klein Oak game. Provided we fix those things, PN-G 17. If we don’t, PN-G by 7. I suspect United is a better team than in years past, and is also better than Klein Oak.

  20. It was two-fold. Congress forced cuts to Clinton’s big plans (like his healthcare reform ideas). We haven’t had the give and take or financial reaponsibility in Washington since. Tax cuts are a bandaid on a stab wound in our current predicament. The idea that tax cuts will fix our debt problem is as stupid as thinking that the key to getting rich is with credit card rewards programs. “The more is spend, the more I get back!!!”

  22. Incorrect. I just watched the TL broadcast of the game. Rice was much bigger, particularly in the skill positions. #2 for them looks pretty special. Their QB is pretty good. Their defense is solid. I can see them making some noise in Region IV 3A DII. Rice is in a tough district though with the likes of #10 Tidehaven, #12 East Benard, #21 Vanderbilt Industrial and Boling. They actually could miss the playoffs. Rice returns 9 offensive and 9 defensive starters.

  24. Trust me, it's terrible. I have three different sources who LIVE over there and send kids to their schools. It's a complete nightmare. A 6A enrollment with 4A facilities. Bad bad combination. Nobody could have been prepared for this. NOBODY!!!!

  26. Yall think Friday night was bad, I can’t imagine what those poor teachers are going through. And lest I be misunderstood, I am NOT talking about the quality of students. But the sheer numbers of students imposed, combined with the size of the facilities they had in place, has to be a nightmare.

    Offensive football

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, here is mine. They opted up to be more competitive across the board and change the scenery from the last 4 years of being the laughing stock of SETX. Honestly, from what I’ve seen so far from BC in particular they might be competing for a district title this year. Change was needed in that city. It used to be an embarrassing program. Last year BC almost lost to Buna. Only winning 20-12 This year, they dominated them. BC hasn’t completely dominated anyone in recent memory. Now, there is excitement, and the kids and community are beaming with pride. What is wrong with that? Also, we can talk about the offensive showcase BC put on, but the defense has been absolutely lights out. You are forgetting, in a live half vs Silsbee and Newton (two of the best teams in the area) and a full game vs Buna. They have only allowed 6 POINTS. Those 6 points came late with the 2s and 3s in the game. Take it how you want. They still have to go out there and prove that they are worthy of the praise. I believe that they will. Also, I’m not trying to attack you or your opinion, I just love seeing local Orange County teams be successful, especially teams that have not been competitive in recent memory. BC should be 3-0 once the fun of district play begins. District play will provide better insight to what this team is capable of.

PNG takes this, but there’s a lot to improve after last night. Everyone else has said most of it, but I’d add we need to get better at outside containment. Just about every long run Klein Oak had was around the outside. We were a little sloppy on containment against LCM too. Kickoff coverage needs a lot of work too.

    23-6A...... WOW!!!

Summer Creek, Atascocita and North Shore defeated their Week 1 opponents by a combined score of 115-7 … their opponents were Shadow Creek, Lamar and South Oak Cliff. District 23-6A is gonna be unbelievable in 2024 West Brook and United are deliriously happy they are no longer in this district.

  38. Well it's nice to see they're back in there comfort zone.dline just needs some work which was expected since they haven't ran the 50 in 2 yrs. Online and dline key there season.especiàlly the online blocking for #4 Jefferson. He gonna be special just a sophomore!! The Rbs are the strength of this team.its all Abt them getting mean and nasty up front.and it u start to see what makes this program.and one other note hoping #3 Marcus turner can keep improving bcz the better QB on this team is the back up.lil Douglas can really throw it around.next year he gonna be deadly with Jefferson no matter what happens with the coaches.

  41. 12 years ago they had enrollment of less than 1,000....now they have 3,300. Imagine if Silsbee had 2,000 more students dropped in on them, none of whom play football, then they have to be in the district with North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita and CE King. They would get their butts worked over something fierce every weekend then all the good players would find a more reasonable place to play where they would have a chance. They are a 3a or 4a school playing in a 6a district. No one would want to subject the self to that, so likely their better players went somewhere else.

  42. It wasn’t they had one muff kick. Titans defense cause the rest of the fumbles. Dekaney scored there first or second drive and ain’t score another td till later 4th. My point is memorial beat a bigger team that loaded the box. And PAM still won. Titans are 1-0. The QB I’m not too concerned about felt like he could have been helped more with the oline and more wr screens.

  43. Let’s start with the good. Tyson Henry reminded me of Isaiah Nguyen in how he runs. With time for Henry to develop, I think he and Chatagnier will strike a dynamic similar to the one Chatagnier shared with Nguyen. We saw how that worked out last year. Bailey and his receivers corps both looked good once the offense found its rhythm. Same goes for the OL. The defense forced six turnovers, only giving up ten points to a fairly talented (if poorly coached) 6A team with an OU commit and as much speed as we’ll see all season. Perhaps most importantly, the stellar in-game adjustments we’ve become accustomed to from this coaching staff were on full display; I took particular notice of how the passing game exploited the seams that were opened when Klein Oak stacked the box early to stifle Chatagnier. McDaniel’s still the best high school DC in America, in my book. In the end, we walked away with a three possession win in enemy territory. It was a strong first outing for the 2024 Indians. Now let’s talk about the bad. Two drive-killing false starts and two fumbles, including one scoop-n-score, within spitting distance of the end zone during the first ~15 minutes of regulation. A bobbled snap on a PAT attempt that, thankfully, worked out for an unintentional two pointer. Some bad snaps on punting attempts that, thankfully, didn’t cost us anything. It’s hard to complain about a 22 point victory over a school with a thousand more kids to build a team from. All in all, this was a good win for the Indians. Change two or three key moments in the game, however, and this easily could’ve been the Indians’ third consecutive season opener loss. The main thing is that we know what we need to work on. The offense needs to work out some stiffness. Defense has a minor size issue in the backfield and needs to do a little work on tackling. Special teams needs the most work of all. I trust Joseph & Co. to iron out those kinks. We’ll have another good season this year. Will it be another history-making season? Only time will tell. 😎
