Most teams have that issue against United. They’re on another level this year.

Point taken but it’s really tough to prepare for BU when there are no teams which compare with BU around here this year. Tough to prepare for that kind of talent without facing that kind of talent. And no one else around here has it. They are quite simply going to blow the doors off of most of the teams they will play.

After calling the game and seeing them in person courtside. This team is really, really, good. They have it all, Size, Athletic, with a calm demeanor. No panic at all from this team in the 3 games I've seen. They have a quiet confidence that I think will help in the long run.

Hearing Blake Gideon will probably be coming in as ST/Safeties coach. Here's hoping he's a better coach that he was at catching interceptions.

I guess since United is local we don't think they are as good as they are, we always think the teams across the state are the real deal....Like I've stated before this is one of the best teams in the state. Classification doesn't matter

Ok, here is my biggest beef on this. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I mentioned that one of the places that I go to mine scores is MaxPreps. And last night and this morning, I was doing that. I come up on the Corrigan-Camden/Diboll game out of 22-3A. Now, they are only tangentially in our area so I really don't expect a response on the site, so I search their score on MaxPreps. And lo and behold, someone did post something about the game....a highlight video.....BUT THEY DIDN'T REPORT THE SCORE!!!! Please, I know you want to see your kid get video out there for the Geno Auriemma's and Kara Lawson's of the world to view, but if you are going to take the time to put together a highlight reel to post can you take just 30 seconds (I've done it, that is all it takes) to post the dog gone score?

Although I've never picked on the Pickems on this thread I do always pick the games just out of curiosity to see how I would stack up with you folks. Last week I got 15 which would have been first place, and after tallying my season totals I would also be in first place. I was told that some folks might use my picks for some kind of unfair advantage for monetary, bragging rights or whatever reason. I have been reluctant to go public but that may change later as I want to let people know how good I am also. Keep it up, some of you guys are pretty good although not a professional like me.

True...The only team I can think of around here is Atascocita and maybe Hightower, the private school in Houston...Is not to many teams in the state with that talent specially in 5A..

5A Nederland was 13-0 coming into United game with 7 wins over mediocre 4A teams. Playing those type teams pre district every year does not prepare your team well for district or playoff games versus strong teams like United.

Slot T will usually mask a lack of overall talent top to bottom with precision blocking and deception, but what I have noticed at the 5A and 6A level it usually only gets you so far before you meet a group that is just as disciplined and will slow them down, make them get out of their comfort zone and pass a lot more. Fact is once you get this deep the teams are all very sound, disciplined and do the little things correctly. Then it's no longer about scheme as much as it is about talent. I got Crosby with the W.

Yearly this has become somewhat of a rivalry game between two good programs with top shelf coaching. United (13-0) hasnt played a game in 14 days. Nederland (13-0) last played 5 days ago. This could be a factor in the margin of the of the final score. United is humble enough to prepare and humble enough to perform. Looking forward to a fair called injury free game. Huntsville? Come’on man. Saw their best team in a while have to take Marshall to the last play of the game to get out of the 3rd round in 2018. Carthage beat Marshall much easier that same year. You guys are giving way too much credit to 5a DII. Crosby just beat the #5 team in that class. Is Crosby world beaters? Ennis who is the #1 team got beat in the 2nd round by an I ranked team. Carthage could win a state title in 5a DII this year. In 2020! There I said it. They don’t lose at Jerry World. If they made it, they would beat any team in that division.
