  2. It doesn’t help that the crappy visitor’s stands are close enough to reach over and grab a Gatorade cup from the water table.

  3. It was not a struggle to beat Liberty. The WO-S turnovers kept the score closer than it should be, but this game was never in doubt. Liberty's game plan is to literally run out the clock for four quarters with that rugby-like offense of theirs. We started slow (2 punts in the 1st quarter), but winning against Liberty always looks ugly because of their style. WO-S has a bye week to sharpen their game, heal up some bruises, one final district contest, then the playoffs. Anyway, I know the coaching staff is not thinking about Carthage. Too much football to be played before that "if and when" match up occurs.

  4. That offense worked like a charm I remembered. One year you had a HUGE and mean oline that made it work in 2009. I remember it worked when you had a special athlete running it in Quirante. You have to have one or the other to run it successfully. Vidor haven’t had one or a combination of both in a while. I say just run a conventional offense until those two components show themselves at the high school...

  8. No SOULJA i was speaking of our new head coaches record in his last 30 games in El Paso. Everyone was speaking on that in the community. Obviously he is a respected coach because we have coaches from Mississippi and Alabama that came to coach with him in a district that just started paying their coaches days (5 everyone else gets 10-15)). Most outside coaches have to take a pay cut unless they coach 5 sports. SOULJA BU has held back on a lot of stuff, the community gave them hail over how conservative they were against Westbrook but they will win over the community with a win that counts. The winner of this game will go undefeated in District play!!! Like i said, they will score 50 on PAM!! game plan: Run away from the stud DE: Dont throw at the stud DB. simple as it gets!!!!

  9. Never play defense? Held Nederland to 7 in second half with starting QB? Really did you watch the game? Give a little credit. I heard on here that Nederland was going to put up 40? I think the defense did a pretty good job. Proud of the boys. Both teams played hard.

  13. I get what you are saying. It would be a very tough district. You would have some good teams sitting at the house during the playoffs. PNG and Nederland would have a difficult time making the playoffs, but the district would be very strong.

Whole thread has turned to a pitty party. Livingston is obviously the favorite but I think LCM has better shot than most believe. They have to find what works on offense though. If the coaching staff hasn’t figured anything out this late in the season that’s on them.

  15. Have you happened to go back and look at the schools that PNG has played so far? It’s easy go to MaxPreps and look them up. Pa Memorial, Tomball, Beaumont United - please do if you don’t mind...I would Really like to hear what you think about those teams and how they would match up in our district? The teams PNG has played so far have been all quality teams and just look at how they are doing so far. I’m giving a little more credit to the defense holding Nederland to 21.

  17. I’ve expressed my displeasure of how the WB/United thing went. But jag86, if you missed it, my opinion is the reason given as far as acclimation period was pure BS as all teams in Texas had that very same issue. Also, there’s plenty of new coaches in 2020. No excuses. Play the scheduled game, take your lumps and move forward. No reason to short change the kids a game to an already possible abbreviated season. Really anticipated since 1 non district game was dropped for the sake of an extra bye week for the district committee. Ohh well...that was then. Now is now. We’re 3-0 In district and are trying to get the district championship, something attainable.

The house behind the visitor stands the last time I was there needed to clean up his yard it bothered me. If I lived behind that stadium I would have to clean it up and looking good

  19. LCM gets rolled over at the little junior high stadium in Livingston. I just hope you guys get some better referees for the game. The ones we had looked like a junior high crew at best. P.S. bring some earplugs for the PA announcer, dudes got the volume cranked up to 11. Lions 28 - Bears 7

  20. Yes that staff that didn't have nothing to prove in playing WB. If you know sports WB system been in place for years so why would a new coach that just got the job in late spring and a pandemic in affect. He didn't see his kids till August and the staff was still being organized, we have bigger fish to fry than getting embarrassed by WB because they wouldn't have been prepared!! A district Championship is more important than playing WB for bragging rights!!!

  21. They have tried to add some wrinkles with the hurry up and now we run it out of the pistol, which takes something away from the hidden ball misdirection in my opinion. Teams are not fooled at all this year, they are stacking 8-9 on the line of scrimmage and sending more than we can block. The outside defenders are staying home and not biting on the fakes, we can’t get the edge. Our offense moves sideline to sideline instead of up the field. Best bet is to run power i up the middle when teams do that, maybe you can break one if you get past the first line of defenders. But nothing is going to work until we can execute the passing game consistently. Wide open passes have to be hit, there’s no excuse for an incompletion when no defender is within 10 yards of your receiver.

  23. Game hinged on many plays, dropped pick six with Ned up 14-0, clutch kicker, nails FG and perfect onside kick, great call by Faircloth on the half back pass when their offense couldn't get going, 3rd and 25 conversion on a perfect throw and catch.... lots of plays decide a winner and loser

  24. Yes, it was great to see a WR with experience that makes adjustments in his route to catch a thrown ball. Then sometimes you can’t adjust enough. Good job Gilder, you gave Foster a boost. TigerNation!!!

  26. Well lets get it going, PA Yall had the same excitement last year. This is a much better team than last years team and the coaching is much improved. Even if the game is a toss up, BU 0-30 head coach can beat a special teams coach from LAMAR. Just saying, swing out or not!!! We have new single coaches from other states and cities and they do have a social life so lets not go there because you know some people dont take that as a joke!! Lets discuss the game and players involved. BU will put up 50 points on yall, because the swing out bandits have two weeks to out prepare a special teams coach with a lineman kicking. LOL

  29. Ned #10 is an outstanding RB. Vision, tough runner, quickness, and speed. He is not going down on first contact or with arm tackles. When Ned loaded up and ran on the right side, good things happened. Ned has some meat on the OL and they can move the line of scrimmage. When #10 cuts it back, he can take it to the house in a hurry. PN-G got a TO and had a shot at the end for the W. As usual, the last team with the ball wins. Great HS football game. It could have gone either way. Not sure why anyone would be down on PN-G or Ned. We both have issues, but who doesn't? The PN-G defense is not the best, but our kids are coachable and playing hard. I'll take it. Ned can correct some things and move on to the next game. I feel like other teams need to worry about PN-G and Ned. The Indians and Dogs will have opportunities to grab a W in each and every game, Barbers Hill and Crosby included. In each game, if things break right, if some variables go our way, then PN-G will have its shot to get a W...same for Ned. No reason for either team to hang its head or throw in the towel. Lots of football left in district. 15 - 18 year old kids make mistakes. It happens. Get up and go play. Go Indians. Peace.

    Newton vs Hemphill

I was impressed watching Newton. They are very good team. Hemphill in my opinion just doesn’t have a good enough defense to beat them. I think Hemphill offense will be the best Newton has seen in district. If Hemphill’s offense can move the chains and keep Newton’s offense off the field that will be key. If not look for another blowout victory for Newton. I believe this will be an exciting game to watch hopefully not a blow out. Both offenses are very explosive looking forward to watching this one. Good luck to both teams

  36. Nah, you could have just said there was a band thread. No one else had a problem with the comment. No one here was talking to you, so miss me with that. And bands are a big part of Friday. it's a general statement about bands, period. not just Livingston. They all look rusty. All the bands have lost half of their performances and I feel bad for them. Why don't you keep me out your threads and I do the same? I've left you Lumberton people alone to wallow in your misery the past few weeks. Y'all, who dared accused us of trying to use weather to get a forfeit from the high and mighty Lumberton Raiders because we were so scared to play you.

  37. We must have had a dozen sacks and TFLs, the defensive line really stepped up and played hard. But too many times on 3rd and long or 4th and a mile we would have a bad break or defensive breakdown. Not to mention the refs bailing them out with bad calls at crucial times. If you’re looking for a bright side I’d look to that group to continue playing well and keep us in games but the offense has to come around. The season isn’t lost just yet if we can win these last two some crazy things could happen. They just gotta show up and play as a damn team.

  38. I don't know where to start this team is better than they are showing. We are the only team in Southeast Texas to get worse as the season has went on. It is really hard to watch this week after week the defense has played well all year but the offense don't have a clue, I think it is safe to say our project at qb didnt work this year. I feel bad for the seniors knowing that there senior season is going down the drain because our coaches are to dumb to adjust all season

  39. If PNG should be embarrassed, how should Nederland feel? Give me a break, it was a hard fought, good game, and someone has to lose. I’d say both teams should be proud.

  40. Nah, pure unadulterated luck. Cunningham get mauled on the second drive with that calculated wrap up late tackle. One in a thousand on-side kick....Joke! If I was a PNG fan or grad I’d be embarrassed. Gtfo

  42. Can’t expect the 3rd and 4th teams to not want to score. They work their arses off in practice all week and when they get the chance they’re going to go hard

  43. Great HS football game by both teams. As usual, it came down to a handful of plays. Can't say enough great things about Blake Bost slinging the ball around the yard and leading his team to overcome a 14-0 deficit. PN-G outscoring Ned 22-7 is not because of the referees. The PN-G TE made the catch of a lifetime. Good job. Congrats to all of the kids for playing your ass off and giving the fans a great game. Tip of the cap to Ned, nice field and terrific RB #10. Glad PN-G grabbed a TO and made some plays to get a W. Now, fist bump to the Ned fans, back to social distancing, and see you next year. Go Indians. Peace.

  44. Even the announcers on texanlive said that penalty was impossible to miss. It's not like the refs are required to keep their flags in their pocket with an obvious penalty just because it's a game changer.

  45. I picked PNG to win by a score. Congrats, Indians.

  46. Officials nitpicked PNG the entire game. I don't have a lot of sympathy for anyone claiming the officiating was against Nederland. That last penalty was significant, but the officials were AWFUL all night, and Nederland benefitted from it as well. In the end, PNG made one more play. That's almost always how this game goes. And as poorly as PNG tackled, Nederland had plenty of chances to score.
