  3. It was not a struggle to beat Liberty. The WO-S turnovers kept the score closer than it should be, but this game was never in doubt. Liberty's game plan is to literally run out the clock for four quarters with that rugby-like offense of theirs. We started slow (2 punts in the 1st quarter), but winning against Liberty always looks ugly because of their style. WO-S has a bye week to sharpen their game, heal up some bruises, one final district contest, then the playoffs. Anyway, I know the coaching staff is not thinking about Carthage. Too much football to be played before that "if and when" match up occurs.

  4. That offense worked like a charm I remembered. One year you had a HUGE and mean oline that made it work in 2009. I remember it worked when you had a special athlete running it in Quirante. You have to have one or the other to run it successfully. Vidor haven’t had one or a combination of both in a while. I say just run a conventional offense until those two components show themselves at the high school...

  8. No SOULJA i was speaking of our new head coaches record in his last 30 games in El Paso. Everyone was speaking on that in the community. Obviously he is a respected coach because we have coaches from Mississippi and Alabama that came to coach with him in a district that just started paying their coaches days (5 everyone else gets 10-15)). Most outside coaches have to take a pay cut unless they coach 5 sports. SOULJA BU has held back on a lot of stuff, the community gave them hail over how conservative they were against Westbrook but they will win over the community with a win that counts. The winner of this game will go undefeated in District play!!! Like i said, they will score 50 on PAM!! game plan: Run away from the stud DE: Dont throw at the stud DB. simple as it gets!!!!

  9. Never play defense? Held Nederland to 7 in second half with starting QB? Really did you watch the game? Give a little credit. I heard on here that Nederland was going to put up 40? I think the defense did a pretty good job. Proud of the boys. Both teams played hard.

  13. I was on the 07 lee team. That was first game of the year. Must have taken the pads off and been sent back to the locker room 4 times before they rescheduled. Got back to baytown roughly midnight only to have to be back up at the school at 7am to catch the bus back to Beaumont. I never saw lightning in the area that night.

  14. I get what you are saying. It would be a very tough district. You would have some good teams sitting at the house during the playoffs. PNG and Nederland would have a difficult time making the playoffs, but the district would be very strong.

  15. And that's Memorial and United's fault?
    1 point
  16. Have you happened to go back and look at the schools that PNG has played so far? It’s easy go to MaxPreps and look them up. Pa Memorial, Tomball, Beaumont United - please do if you don’t mind...I would Really like to hear what you think about those teams and how they would match up in our district? The teams PNG has played so far have been all quality teams and just look at how they are doing so far. I’m giving a little more credit to the defense holding Nederland to 21.

  17. Well, the good thing is you get a chance to see lots of yards in the neighborhood cuz you usually have to park in one of them. I’m glad the Lions are playing much better football, otherwise there’s nothing good to say about a Livingston football game.

At this point I would take any kind of change. The kids don’t buy into the coaches and if the kids don’t trust the coaches to make leadership changes it’s time to move on.

  19. LCM gets rolled over at the little junior high stadium in Livingston. I just hope you guys get some better referees for the game. The ones we had looked like a junior high crew at best. P.S. bring some earplugs for the PA announcer, dudes got the volume cranked up to 11. Lions 28 - Bears 7

  20. Yes that staff that didn't have nothing to prove in playing WB. If you know sports WB system been in place for years so why would a new coach that just got the job in late spring and a pandemic in affect. He didn't see his kids till August and the staff was still being organized, we have bigger fish to fry than getting embarrassed by WB because they wouldn't have been prepared!! A district Championship is more important than playing WB for bragging rights!!!

  21. 5 teams thought they could beat as you put it a "special teams" coach, 5 teams took that L including Westerberg so far. The sophomores are all grown up now and Jordon Thomas is back unlike last yr. This is very different than last year, I've warned Soulja about this, you'll see November 5th, just make sure you keep that same energy around 9:45pm that night, we'll see what that scoreboard looking like at our home away from home Memorial Stadium North Timberpup fans. 😎🤫 Btw: running away from one Thomas means you'll meet the other monster that's a Thomas as well, good luck with that strategy. Swingout Club will be open after the game as I stated.

  23. Yes, it was great to see a WR with experience that makes adjustments in his route to catch a thrown ball. Then sometimes you can’t adjust enough. Good job Gilder, you gave Foster a boost. TigerNation!!!

  29. Is there a way for both coaches to file a complaint about the officiating crew? They may be the worst overall I’ve ever seen. They never seemed to know what they wanted to do, and they appeared determined to make the game and the outcome about themselves. I don’t know if there is a process for that, or what that process would be.

  30. They were ranked #1 when we played them in the playoffs recently 😁

  31. Ned #10 is an outstanding RB. Vision, tough runner, quickness, and speed. He is not going down on first contact or with arm tackles. When Ned loaded up and ran on the right side, good things happened. Ned has some meat on the OL and they can move the line of scrimmage. When #10 cuts it back, he can take it to the house in a hurry. PN-G got a TO and had a shot at the end for the W. As usual, the last team with the ball wins. Great HS football game. It could have gone either way. Not sure why anyone would be down on PN-G or Ned. We both have issues, but who doesn't? The PN-G defense is not the best, but our kids are coachable and playing hard. I'll take it. Ned can correct some things and move on to the next game. I feel like other teams need to worry about PN-G and Ned. The Indians and Dogs will have opportunities to grab a W in each and every game, Barbers Hill and Crosby included. In each game, if things break right, if some variables go our way, then PN-G will have its shot to get a W...same for Ned. No reason for either team to hang its head or throw in the towel. Lots of football left in district. 15 - 18 year old kids make mistakes. It happens. Get up and go play. Go Indians. Peace.

  32. Well, your assessment of our RB was off just a tad, wouldn’t you say? He took one to the house from about 65-70 yards that no one could gain on. The rest of his yards were between the 20s. Ned had an excellent chance to win this game with 21 points.

Weren’t you the one who argued that Allen should win every year based on attendance? If so, your comments are irrelevant here. This post was more about the accomplishment of a former SETX coach than anything.

  37. Blah blah blah vomit. Public forum. I have the privilege to post on this thread. If it was relegated to just Livingston folks, there wouldn’t be many posts on here. I haven’t said anything bad about Livingston. I praised them. Regarding football that is. But in the spirit of goodwill, I’ll start over: Hey guys, good job on the win over Vidor. The improvement for Livingston is amazing. Regarding the band stuff, I know it’s super duper important to the success of the football team, but you may want to send those comments over to the band forum. What’s that? You didn’t know there was a band forum? Well sure there is! Only nobody ever posts in the band forum cuz nobody cares. Do I like the band? Of course I do, silly! They provide the background music while I’m taking a leak and getting my nachos! If your band sucks, tell them to practice more after school or on the weekends during non-football times. Btw, if the band was such an integral part of the game, why were they left at home? Because they don’t have to be there to play the game.

    Newton vs Hemphill

I was impressed watching Newton. They are very good team. Hemphill in my opinion just doesn’t have a good enough defense to beat them. I think Hemphill offense will be the best Newton has seen in district. If Hemphill’s offense can move the chains and keep Newton’s offense off the field that will be key. If not look for another blowout victory for Newton. I believe this will be an exciting game to watch hopefully not a blow out. Both offenses are very explosive looking forward to watching this one. Good luck to both teams

  40. We must have had a dozen sacks and TFLs, the defensive line really stepped up and played hard. But too many times on 3rd and long or 4th and a mile we would have a bad break or defensive breakdown. Not to mention the refs bailing them out with bad calls at crucial times. If you’re looking for a bright side I’d look to that group to continue playing well and keep us in games but the offense has to come around. The season isn’t lost just yet if we can win these last two some crazy things could happen. They just gotta show up and play as a damn team.

  41. I don't know where to start this team is better than they are showing. We are the only team in Southeast Texas to get worse as the season has went on. It is really hard to watch this week after week the defense has played well all year but the offense don't have a clue, I think it is safe to say our project at qb didnt work this year. I feel bad for the seniors knowing that there senior season is going down the drain because our coaches are to dumb to adjust all season

  42. @H-D BOBCAT 55 Sounds like y'all brought your own Officials to this one? What a travesty...🤣 I heard that BV would've won this one 10 out of 10 times if you played it again with unbiased Refs.(That's what a very well respected 6A coach told me that watched from the stands.) It's a shame that the Refs kept giving y'all TD's like that, clearly, they were on the HD payroll! How could grown men hurt kids like that?...Dave Campbell's Special Ops team is launching a special investigation from what I hear from the HD fans I spoke to after the game. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  43. Nah, pure unadulterated luck. Cunningham get mauled on the second drive with that calculated wrap up late tackle. One in a thousand on-side kick....Joke! If I was a PNG fan or grad I’d be embarrassed. Gtfo

  45. Can’t expect the 3rd and 4th teams to not want to score. They work their arses off in practice all week and when they get the chance they’re going to go hard

  46. Great HS football game by both teams. As usual, it came down to a handful of plays. Can't say enough great things about Blake Bost slinging the ball around the yard and leading his team to overcome a 14-0 deficit. PN-G outscoring Ned 22-7 is not because of the referees. The PN-G TE made the catch of a lifetime. Good job. Congrats to all of the kids for playing your ass off and giving the fans a great game. Tip of the cap to Ned, nice field and terrific RB #10. Glad PN-G grabbed a TO and made some plays to get a W. Now, fist bump to the Ned fans, back to social distancing, and see you next year. Go Indians. Peace.

  47. Even the announcers on texanlive said that penalty was impossible to miss. It's not like the refs are required to keep their flags in their pocket with an obvious penalty just because it's a game changer.
