Say what you want, but this is old time high school football. Two good teams playing on a grass field with a crown, small stadium and rabid fans. These kind of games are the seeds of Texas High School Football that are where all the big mega stadiums and huge crowds come from.

Here’s two great programs going at it. There’ll be more pride and tradition on that field as you’ll find anywhere. Anyone seeing this game will see the best of High School Football.

Silsbee can put Tom Brady back there, but until they start blocking better then results will be the same.

No, I'm working days. So I'll probably end up in Port Arthur watching that T-wolves/Titans game. Dude is ridiculous. Kid has the offense averaging 58.5 pts per game and 825A is hating. Smh...

This is the coach that got football turned around in Port Arthur, mainly Lincoln. He took the Bees back to the playoffs and beating the WOS mustangs. He was a great teacher, coach, and friend... you will be missed!!!

The young man was amazing. Endurance alone would make him super. To QB the Slot T, and play MLB at the 5A level as well as he did is remarkable. Won’t see his like for sometime to come.

My normal spot on the visitors gate side. Heck our fans don't show up for home games but will hit up the away games, United is probably the same, wasn't alot of folks at their home game last week, even for a Thursday, but I bet it's packed on tomorrow in PA though.

It has been a rough week for the alumni and fans of Port Arthur Lincoln. First, the passing of an all-time great in tennis and service to PAISD, Mr. Levi Adams. Second, the passing of a great football player, teacher, coach, and mentor, Mr. Richard Dick Williams. Two excellent role models for success in sports and life. A tip of the cap! Jobs well done and lives well lived! Prayers for the families. Go Indians. Peace.

I thought Shug played really well against LSU. Everytime he touched the ball it was at least 5 yards. His blocking was outstanding and he really looked the part. I was wanting them to give him the ball more because he brought energy to the team when he was in there. I thought Texas was getting too pass happy at times. Shug was in the game at crunch time so that should tell you how he was playing. The last several series when they had to score RJ was in there. I don't care about the situation but being in the game and producing like he did against a big time program says something about him. I really wanted to see him prove people wrong and eventually play QB. But the way he looked against LSU he may end up being a dam'n good RB for UT and never go back to QB. The kid is a baller and can play where ever you need him. Nobody is going to out work him for sure. So he will keep getting better where ever he plays. He looks like a grown ass man out there. Cant wait to see what the future holds for this young man.

It was nice to watch him versus a mediocre squad who wanted to play with 10 ppl on the field instead of 11, fun times at The Butch.

...and I was the one in the stands (while Vidor was crushing Central that night). He might be better on the defensive side of the ball than on offense. People in the crowd couldn't believe the QB was tackling everything in sight...

It was hard not to get excited for the only kid ever to win the Willie Ray Smith Award on the Offensive Side And Defensive Side of the Ball in the same year! Offensive Side 1881 yards rushing 33 TDS - Defensive Side 123 Tackles - 3 interceptions - 1 was pick 6 for TD. Kid never came off the field. Also did the punting for the team. Amazing Athlete with incredible endurance.

If Silsbee can play some defense this week, they have a good chance. Too many missed tackles and big plays given up by the defense has kept the Tigers in the loss column.

For maybe 2 weeks after that win over Crosby at LU.

Does anybody remember the three straight turnovers by WO-S. What would the score have been with a few changes on that. It goes both ways.

Correct. The thing about that 2nd game ( a 34-7 Silsbee win) was that McGuire did not play. He got hurt in final regular season game against Jasper. Most folks thought Silsbee was doomed facing a Nederland team that ripped the Tiger defense thru the air and not having their star RB where they needed every single yard and score to beat the Bulldogs earlier in the season. What happen was a change in defensive strategy. Silsbee played zone coverage the first time and Spell picked them apart. In the playoff game Silsbee went to man coverage and brought the house on most if not all passing downs. Silsbee sacked Spell 10 times in that 2nd game. Also, Silsbee RB Rhone had 194 rushing yards and 3 TD's.

To be accurate, McGuire had 454 yards rushing and all purpose yards (rushing, receiving and returns) of 608 with 6 total TD's.

I got a good laugh out of this also. Crosby has played two games this year and lost to New Caney and Manvel. Both of which I would bet would beat your Titans. So, you might be Crosby “low” and just don’t know it yet. It’s still early and too soon to tell on either team.

In defense of Crosby (and I'm not a crosby fan) they have played 2 pretty good teams.

Until we start coaching defense it could go either way.

Never liked Brown even before all of this crap. He caught a TD pass for Pittsburgh and he celebrated like he was fornicating the air. I mean it was vulgar. I wondered how many kids saw that. It made me sick. He’s a POS.
