Hamshire-Fannett (49) @ Vidor (28) - FINAL
BBtater984 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Did they see the coaching change.... you doubt they know much about any of those other schools?!?!... lol, huh?!?! The schools I'm talking about (OF, BC, LCM) are within 10-20 minutes of Vidor. Sooooo, yes, the kids know about the coaching changes at other schools. Kids today know more about what's happening at other schools than kids did 20-30 years ago. Kids are more connected to other kids at different area schools.... Social media, travel sports, etc. 🤦♂️ And take you "historically horrible" somewhere else PAB -

42-7 Orangefield This shouldn't be much of a game but should be a take the lead by 3 TDs and rest your starters to prepare for district opener. -

Did they see the coaching change at other schools also? I doubt they know much about any of those schools. Vidor is historically horrible regardless of the coaching. The greatest were able to make Vidor competitive to mediocre on occasion. -

That's true. But they only do the seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. Kill two birds.

Nederland could easily be 0-3 right now. The 2 wins were squeakers against 4A teams.

You live way too close to Mama Jack's to need a football game to get you over there to eat.

Snapshot Day is Oct 31 What is Snapshot Day?
purpleeagle replied to Matthew328's topic in High School Football
Snapshot day is the day before Gunner starts recruiting local players so they do not count on their enrollment. They are on the bubble and want to stay in 3A2 ln lieu of going to a higher bracket. They have UIL Guardian angles watching over them. -
This will be only the 4th meeting between Silsbee and West Brook. Silsbee currently leads the series 2-1. Last year was the first time WB has ever played Lumberton. Nothing traditional about any of these matchups. After going 1-9 and 0-10, let's just say the coaching staff was looking for more wins to give the team some confidence. I get what you are saying. WB is 5A DI (and that is only two years, was 6A 3 years ago). I look for WB to schedule a little better next realignment.

Just an honest question. How does it help BWB to play 4A DII Silsbee or 4A DI Lumberton football teams in non-district? I mean Silsbee might be a real good #10 4A DII team, but I could never see Lufkin, PAM or BH playing those classification teams. DCTF has Silsbee a 3 point favorite. Again, just asking. I mean Lufkin only plays 5A DII Nacogdoches out of tradition only and that game is rarely close. Maybe these are also traditional games for BWB from way back, I do not know the history there.

Nope sure don't. Last year was a losing year with a lot of upperclassmen. *Point being... Freshman, Sophomore, Jr. Sr., whatever.... They do not want to play for this coach. Kids are smart enough to see what a coaching change did for programs like OF, BC, LCM. -

Not many teams that rely on sophomores win a lot of games. -
Coaching is a skill. You have to know when to rest certain players, no matter how good they are. Especially the big guys.

Yes. Those kids are good too... but from the rumblings on the streets, I wouldn't be surprised if a few of them quit football and stick to baseball and basketball. And the kids who would be the ones to quit are skill players. Honestly, I don't blame them. Who wants to run right and left all game and get beaten down game after game? And before people get on here and talk about "the spread"... I'll be the first to say Vidor does not need to be a spread offensive team. Does that mean we have to stick with the slot-t, no? There are plenty of offensive variations where you can still be a run-heavy team. -
I know this thread has been derailed but still good discussion. Last week vs LaPorte... #9 Ruffin was playing both ways, LB and RB. On defense he was taking a beating from LT Wolford when he wasn't making plays. By the 4th Quarter he spent a lot of time on the sidelines looking worn down.
