I get that United is a great program, but what would make playing basketball for BU more advantageous than playing for Silsbee? A player of Jones' caliber will merit the looks from colleges regardless of where he plays ball.

To be accurate, more Silsbee talent has left to go to Beaumont schools than has left Beaumont to come to Silsbee. But I get what you are saying. I do agree with this making BU a state contender.

Great question. I think at all points in time the US has been great, with some obvious missteps and problems along the way. Those have been addressed, such as the ending of slavery, civil rights Act of 1964, etc… America of today isn’t exceptional, other than the greed and laziness of its citizens. We’re all entitled to everything, but feel no obligation to contribute anything. We’ve borrowed ourselves into a no-win situation and I’m of the opinion that we’re going to topple eventually. We can blame political parties, but at the end of the day it’s the public who’s to blame. One of the things that MAGA taps into is a longing for the love of country. There are still a lot of people who feel patriotic and love their country. They would like to see America once again be a land of promise, but don’t have the sophistication to see that the current admin is doing nothing about it, other than branding the emotion for political purposes. Cutting taxes won’t work. Raising taxes won’t work, either. The only solution is to cut spending, and that’s something that the politicians that we keep electing will not even talk about because they know that the voting public won’t allow it…. On any issue. What are we doing today that makes us great? All we can do is point at our history and say “look back at what we were.”

Silsbee been stealing talent from Beaumont for years! It’s our turn now lol This move could possibly make BU one of the favorites to win state! However the best coach in SETX is still coaching in the Westend

I wouldn't overreact to this. Silsbee may have 4 or 5 kids that'll go straight to varsity in 27. Assuming they all stick together. They just need to nail it with this new coaching hire and all will be set. Next year might be rough though.

I agree that those coaches will probably be weeding themselves out if they do, but it isn’t far fetched that some may. Without Jones it’ll be tough to win the district, and with the pressure of following up a great coach with Sigler and the high expectations that come along with that I could see some shying away.

I imagine more than one coach is not too happy.

Definitely different than most HS stadiums I’ve seen/attended. They’re going to have a bunch of food trucks, give away commemorative rally towels to the first 4,000, and other stuff. Making a big shindig out of the opening. NE Entrance by Bulldog Centre.

I checked it out when BH was playing LP softball two weeks ago. Looks like a college stadium. In fact, its better than a few college stadiums I have been in. Congrats on a fine project LP.

I am hearing G1 is at Crosby, G2 is at BH and G3 (if necessary) is at Deer Park.

Well it's gonna be an interesting year next season. Silsbee will have a new coach and one of the weakest Tiger rosters seen in a while. It might not be a bad idea to punch down or at their own body weight for just a little bit.
