  1. Past hour
  2. But no where near as important on the defensive side as #10.
  3. Why hello there! It's that time of year again (Bandtober) and the return of the annual UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest! The contest will be held Saturday October 18, 2025 at Port Neches-Groves HS Stadium. The schedule shows 30 bands competing to earn that coveted Division 1 rating and the chance to move on to area competition and hopefully state competition. Admission has gone up to $7 according to the official UIL Region 10 website ([Hidden Content]). Admission is free for children 10 and under. I do plan to attend and record all the bands. If y'all want, come say hi to me as I battle the weather elements and try to get the best video/audio recordings of our local high school bands. Once I get back home, I will start to edit the video and audio, then post onto my YouTube Channel. If the weather stays like it has been throughout September and October so far, it will be an sunny day with highs reaching the upper 80s with a bit of a breeze throughout. I still have to apply the sunscreen, bust out the big umbrella, and keep well-hydrated. A reminder that ALL classifications will have the opportunity to advance past region to area/state competition. Keep in mind that we have separate open class (contemporary-style) and military class tracks for state marching band contest. Some of my thoughts: - One school missing from last year (2024) returning to the contest includes Warren. - West Hardin returns to contest after DNA'ing last year. - Lamar University does not appear to be performing for exhibition as they have done the last number of years. - Currently we have 3-2A, 9-3A, 12-4A, 6-5A bands participating. Best wishes to all participating bands as they finish learning their music/drill and polishing up their shows in the next week.
  4. [Hidden Content] fixed it.
  5. The Huffman game was a disaster from the start. It's the first time I've been able to watch them in person this year and my God were they unprepared. Lumberton played a good defensive game but Huffman made it easy on them by running the ball up the middle 45 consecutive plays for 1 yard each time. Huffman's QB who is dynamic had ONE designed run the whole game. Had they come out passing and stayed with it they could have scored 40 points easy. It would not have mattered with the defense they put on the field though. They will probably beat Vidor 71-70 but they better treat the following week against HJ as a playoff game and play the best 11 kids on defense or they could go from the favorites to win the district to missing the playoffs. As for the other games BC will beat HJ handily. Lumberton will beat Liberty as bad as they want to. LCM should beat Livingston pretty comfortable. Bridge City is clearly the best team in the district with 2-5 being up for grabs. Finishing third or 4th in this district will not be a pleasant experience.
  6. 1. Baytown Sterling 2. Beaumont United 3. Barbers Hill 4. Angleton 5. Crosby 6. Dayton 7. Huntsville 8. Nederland 9. Bridge City 10. LC-M 11. Lumberton 12. Huffman 13. Hamshire-Fannett 14. West Orange Stark 15. Shepherd 16. Hardin 17. East Chambers 18. Orangefield 19. Fairfield 20. Anderson-Shiro 21. Woodville 22. Kountze 23. Joaquin 24. Garrison 25. Chester
  7. I am not sure if this is correct or not? This is what I found on the UIL website. This ofcourse all hinges on if Hardin does win district 10-3A
  8. Hardin should not struggle with Teague or Crocket which will probably take the forth position in District 9. Second round being Columbus, Yoakum, or Hitchcock who all have pretty good strength on the DL, should be more of a game. But Hardin hasn't really had to show if they have anything else in their play book because what they are doing has been unstoppable by any team they have faced so far. They have my full support once district is over but as of now I still need them to lose to Buna and Kirbyville. LOL
  9. Today
  10. I am not sure how to justify saying Hardin has a ceiling of 3rd round, if indeed the 3rd round game is against an opponent (Pal Westwood) that they were 3 minutes away from beating last year. So, it sounds to me like they have a ceiling of Reg Finals vs Franklin who I think we'd all agree, is the heavy favorite to win Region III and probably the state title. The interesting thing to me is, according to another post on a separate thread, I read where Hardin has only won ONE playoff game in school history. If that's true, this appears to be a season of firsts for that community. My wife taught there many years ago and I got to meet a lot of great people. I just wasn't able to drink the Hardin koolaid earlier in the season, with the history that says otherwise. I can honestly say now, I believe in the hype.
  11. Hopping we could borrow some of your purple defense just for this game - it's not like you'll need it for Splendora anyway. ha!
  12. And I read where 0 has just as many yards and the same amount of Touchdowns as #10 has ?
  13. Has anyone noticed how East Chambers O-line has been doing this year? From what I've heard they are very solid up front and shouldn't have trouble taking care of Anahuac's D-line and Linebackers.
  14. Go Dayton our Purple Brothers.
  15. to each his own. the way i read your statement was like you were surprised to see them there. then i looked at who else they have ranked above them. anyone after #4, anyone...well almost anyone lol. in our district can beat the likes of texas city and santa fe with ease which made question their rankings was my point. for the record, i agree that sterling should get some love. however, we will see if this 5-1 record was built on cupcakes and caught BH slipping by still living the high off of beating Lufkin. Now if we giving props to teams that has been bad over the past 10 years, lets give brook the same props. whats scary to me and i'll just have to wait and see on that last game, sterling offensively reminds me of PAM. Not the same offense, but run heavy and can sneak passes on you for big gains.
  16. I'm gonna try Saturday morning.
  17. Tigers gotta win this one.
  18. The shutdown shouldn’t be about Obamacare. That’s not till Dec. 31. The government shut down because Dems would not vote to extend a bill they had voted for in the past. It’s a clean bill, meaning no junk. Dems wanted healthcare for illegals, which is junk. Republicans said no. End of story.
  19. Didn’t want a replacement. Wanted it gone.
  20. My King is not on this earth. But I understand that’s all you got.
  21. Deep down they love ObamaCare....
  22. I haven't looked at how the brackets could potentially be once the playoffs start. So not sure how deep a run Hardin can make. One things for sure, Hardin cannot afford for #10 and #77 to go down. Both those guys are extremely important on both sides of the ball.
  23. After watching BH last week, give me PAM by 3. That’s by 3 TD’s
  24. Did the Republicans offer a replacement? The last time they did was in 2017. Since then, there efforts have shifted away from complete overhaul. [Hidden Content]
  25. I'm picking EC, but I won't be surprised if Anahuac makes a game out of it. There's a big disparity in records, but EC has had a pretty soft schedule, and the bucs may be the 6th best team that Anahuac will have faced out of 7 opponents. I'm not sure EC is much better than 2-4 if they'd played Anahuac's schedule so far, so the records may be a little misleading.
  26. That would be like me saying you like Lawrence Taylor. However, he is a member of this administration. He should never be included with or around kids. His victim was 16 years old.
