  6. I don't think Angleton will stop throwing to him, even with Duron out. They may not pass as much. Angleton uses a lot of end arounds and Jammer has carried 11 times for 94 yds. I suspect they may use more this game. Jammer is 1 for 1 passing for 12 yds. Jammer is also a threat on kickoff return, both he and Ace Simple. Angleton's OC is excellent at coming up with concepts. He has been with the team since 2011 except for three years. He left in 2015 irc to take a head coaching job at Boling where his team went deep into the playoff both years with playing in the state championship game the second year. He must have decided after that. that head coaching wasn't for him and for one year took an OC position at George Ranch. The next year when Brittain became head coach and Berneathy left for Dobie that there's "No place like Angleton" and reclaimed his old OC job.
  7. Is there any way for both Beaumont schools to make the playoffs??
  8. I didn't expect jv to be that great this year. Most of the good sophomores are on varsity and the freshmen aren't spectacular overall although there are some good pieces there. JH is what concerns me. 7th looks good but 8th is not playing anywhere near their potential. I think bad coaching could ruin all the JH talent if they're not developed correctly. Seen it happen many times in Woodville back in the day
  9. 100% agree with that. If you opt up in football then you opt up in every sport. It should be that you get to pick and choose who you play.
  10. Duron was hurt in Angleton's 1st drive of the second half when it was 35-0. Jackson was hurt early in the 2nd quarter when it was 21-0. Duron was also the team's punter. Late in the second half Angleton sent in WR Cade Estrada to punt and although pressured got off a good punt.
  11. I dont see anyway this game is a blowout based on scores & common opponents, I am going off the grid here. Give me the Bears by a FG late.
  12. I agree about the opt up. It should only be for schools with major travel issues. (i.e. El Paso, etc.) Not for schools that are are only traveling 60 or less miles. BC, HJ and Liberty all opted up for competition reasons. Not travel. You'll never convince me otherwise. I can see BC opting up because they are actually very close to DI numbers anyway. HJ and Liberty are not even close. Also, I am not all that hip on all the other sports going to divisions but if that is how it's going to be, then have divisional districts like football and not decide the divisions after district play. That actually allows a larger school to get in D2 depending on who makes playoffs. If they do go with divisional districts this next realignment for all sports (I am hearing they won't) then schools that opt up for football should have to play all the rest of their sports in that football district. You shouldn't be able to pick and choose what sport you want to opt up in and not.
  13. Today
  14. They cry about SNAP benefits being cutoff but don’t say the democrats need to open the government. Until they realize who is to blame, they will do nothing but cry.
  15. Apparently, they don’t read the news, shocker.
  16. Goes to positive points. I believe this district point cap is 21. Based on the one result (LC beat Dayton, 50-26) we already have, these are the current point totals for those three teams: Lake Creek +21 West Fork 0 Dayton -21 With 2 more results to be determined, those point totals will change. Let's say Dayton beats WF by 17, then they will finish with a point total of -4. WF would current be at -17. Then let's say WF beats LC by 7. Then WF would finish at -10 and LC would finish at +14. So with those results, LC would be #3 seed, Dayton #4 seed and WF out. But, I do not know if this is one of those districts that only uses positive points just to break three way then go head to head with remaining two teams. If that was the case, the seeds would still be the same with the example scenario that I posted. Of course, those two games yet to be played could change the point totals quite a bit from my example. Only thing for sure we know is the current point totals for Dayton and Lake Creek.
  17. Lions were decimated with injuries. Played without starting QB for every district game except for Huffman. Backup QB went down for the season against Liberty. If you really look at it...every game they've played has been close through the 3Q except for maybe the Bridge City game.
  18. Another juvenile response after being proven wrong, again! But you have some that apparently believe you. lol
  19. My opinion may not be popular...but I don't believe anyone should be able to opt up. Only exception should be significant travel outliers (El Paso for example) but it should be RARE cases that are approved. Whatever your number is...just play within that classification. If you don't like it...tough.
  20. No American tax dollars are being spent on the ballroom. It is being privately funded. Try and keep up.
  21. Weird how that happened and timing, I say no coincidence... government is so crooked its sad, both sides are guilty.. taxes dollars wasted on so much stuff its ridiculous..
  22. I would compare this defense to the 2011 team that went 5 rds. that defense had 4 LB's(one is playing in the NFL today in Elanden Roberts) that made you pay, a defensive lineman that was disruptive and "the honey badger" in the secondary. if this defense had a secondary like 2011, they would be up there. I will say the kids can play only whose on the schedule, but THAT 2011 team had a tougher post season schedule and they played in 6a. the district had 2 really strong teams in LaPorte and North Shore and LaPorte was the only district L and was PAM's bugaboo. I'll take the W's this year, but PAM has been blessed to have a senior heavy team with the majority playing varsity 3-4 years. It also helps that Lufkin, Ball and BH lost alot to graduation. I think take this same team and run it back against those teams from last year, i see a 1st place tie or second in district.
  23. Follow up: what happens in this scenario? Dayton: beat WF, lose to PNG (district record: 3-4) WF: lose to Dayton, beat LC (district record: 3-4) LC: beat Splendora, lose to WF (district record: 3-4) Dayton would have tie-breaker over WF, WF would have tie-breaker over LC, and LC would have tie-breaker over Dayton.
  24. If it's strictly about budget and travel purposes, then just make the districts whatever 5-8 schools are closest to each other. Regardless of enrollment. See? That's ridiculous. Having schools in your UIL competition district that are closest to your enrollment size, even if you have to travel a little further, is not ridiculous. It's equitable. There are always exceptions, but if it's true that schools are potentially better/worse depending on their pool of students to draw from... then there needs to be split divisions. For every UIL extracurricular event. You can't pick and choose when it's fair.. or for what sport it's fair for. Or even when to ignore the fairness in the name of saving money. Playing against the same size schools is either fair or it isn't. If that's fair, then it needs to be that way for every sport.
