  1. Past hour
  2. Could be Diboll or Crockett in round 1 and I believe that game could be decided this Friday. Yoakum/Hitchcock in round 2
  3. Woodward didn't give Jimbo the extension. He left for LSU and people thought he would steal Jimbo, so we freaked out and guaranteed his entire contract.
  4. My apologies I skipped a year
  5. BH (39-5) vs Angleton (16-14) at 6pm Thursday at Dobie HS.
  6. Today
  7. Trash was when inflation was 8% and higher today it is 3%...... Some things are still high, but somethings are still reasonable.
  8. Do everyday workers have a 401K? Wal-Mart , Lowes, Home Depot, Starbucks, Family Dollar, Dolla General - they all have 401K's - market should affect them.
  9. Also, no job is beneath you when you have no job.
  10. BTW, ecomomy is still 🗑! Most ppl see that unless your in the no wrong zone. But but but
  11. Not changing my mind... so many times I've read stock market wasnt a factor of everyday American workers... stock was up for Obama and biden
  12. You are so right about that one…
  13. BUMP Tariff discussion was almost to the bottom of page 2.......hmmmm Anyone notice anything with the stock market yesterday? Looks like we are finalizing a deal with Japan and China. Anyone change their minds about Trump and the tariff's?
  14. I think this is the elephant in the room that no one wants to address. There are so many people that work crappy jobs to support themselves and their families and never think getting government assistance. Yet there are TOO MANY that just accept Government assistance. We somehow have to convince people they will he happier and have a sense of pride when they work and EARN a living..... My Father taught me several things, but his most important were life lessons......here are the ones that stuck with me (that I also taught my Son) 1. There is no embarrassment in having a low wage job - embarrassment is when you have no job. 2. When you are at work, if there is nothing to do, grab a shovel and dig a hole......when you're done, if there is still nothing to do, fill it up. Repeat until there is something to do lol 3. Never place your hands in your pocket when you are at work, that is a sign of lazy. So basically his thoughts were there is no reason to not have a job. He worked an instrument mechanic for "Gulf" and very good at that job. When they would strike, he would go work at the Orange Rice Mill slinging sacks of rice off the trains, or work at a body shop, painting cars. He was a worker! THAT is the mentality we need to establish in 2025 - too many people expect things for free and the Government has also been a player making it too easy to get free stuff.
  15. Yes, Lynch didn't retire until mid 2000's I think.
  16. I expect PNG to win this by 10-14 points....I'm not 100% sold on Montgomery yet...
  17. updated through week 9
  18. If Spurger pushes Brookeland I’d be kinda surprised
  19. Don’t see a lot of info yet probably will be tomorrow, maybe this evening before the UIL has the brackets updated.
  20. I believe Jimmy Johnson brought most of his staff from the Miami Hurricanes. He got Norv Turner from the Rams and he turned out to be one of the best OCs ever. Some coaches are best at assistants and make terrible head coaches.
  21. Landon Smith - Senior combo guard at Brookeland - special player if you have not seen him yet Three time District MVP, Three Time TABC All Region Team, Two Time TABC All State Team Will surpass 3000 career points early this season and will become the All time Leading scorer in the history or Brookeland Basketball Career Record as a starter at Brookeland 87-23 (41-1) 27 points, 4 assist, 7 rebounds, 3 steals per game last season
  22. One thing people are seeing during the schumer shutdown is how many people rely on the government for food. 3.5 million Texans alone will lose food stamps. In a state of 31 million. 11% of Texans rely on federal money to eat. That is not help and assistance, that is lack of drive and will power for one's self and family. Living off the government has become a career for many (not all but many). As with everything the government touches it cannot properly oversee and run things. And they want to oversee our healthcare.
  23. I've adopted Huffman as my second team this year and have seen them play 3 times so far. The one thing I can definitively say is I don't know what to expect from them from week to week. They looked bad against Lumberton, great against HJ and a combination of the two against Livingston (although I think it's because Livingston got QB1 back last week and that made the game more competitive than most were expecting). Huffman will have to find consistency in the run game. They were boom or bust last week. It was either a 70 yard TD or a 1 yard loss. They only had 1 methodical drive that I can remember. Huffman's defense has been slowly coming around lately so I think it should be a good game.
