Cards were 2-27 4 years ago, 9-22 the year after that. 19-14 in 2024, 20-13 last season. This year they're 5-3 and probably should've beaten a big 12 opponent.

By “the right guy,” I mean someone who can get the kids back that chose not to play. Whoever they hire isn’t walking in and winning a state or even a district championship right away. Right now, it’s about getting kids back on the field and rebuilding the program. They had the opportunity to bring Larry Upshaw back, but they passed on it. SV DL has 3 starters with D1 offers. LB also has D1 offers. There are only 3 players on the defense that don’t have D2 or better offers. Number 22 is not even there starting RB if you watch every game until the last 2. The defense is fast much more so that BH from what I can tell. The head coach has been there forever and deep playoff runs is the norm. This is the 4th time in 4 years they have been to this round. Lost in it once went to state 2 times. Brennan was one of their first games so I don’t put a lot into that. Brennan is also a 6a team that almost beat lake Travis in the playoffs. I think it is gonna be a heck of a game.
