This Longhorn is super proud and couldnt say enough about the Nederland performance last night. The best high school football game I have ever witnessed in my life and thats a fact. That Bulldog defense is absolutely the real deal. With all the controversy and blown calls and unsportsman like behavior by Dawson there is still one thing that had to be done and that was CLUTCH UP and win the game and that is exactly what Nederland did last night. Great teams fight through adversity no matter how great and battle till the very end and that's exactly what big ned did last night. Im at work this morning and still freaking hyped about that game hahah Congrats and I'll see all you fans next week no matter where the games at  8)

Congrats to my DOGS! I love y'all.  The best game I've witnessed.  I have no voice this morning at all.  The crowd was definitely the 12th man last night.  Unbelievable excitement.  You showed what your made of and how much heart and determination you have. Rest up and celebrate that wonderful win over Dawson!!!!

Are you sure you guys didn't play LaMarque!!  That is exactly what Lumberton experienced against the LM Coogs when the Raiders beat them back in 2007!!  Congrats to the Dog's!!  SE Texas could use a team in the larger classes to make some real noise in the playoffs!  We've been down for too long!!

Check back in the archives and see if Wells was the head football coach at LaMarque that year.  If yes, I rest my case.

My voice just now coming back on line!  ;D  Went through the McDonalds dive thru in Channelview, and couldn't get enough voice thru the speakers to order two Cokes, LOL. Wife had to lean over and place the order for me!  ;D ;D ;D

She took two pairs of my long drawers, split them down the middle, and sewed the two opposite halves together kinda like those half Ned, half PNG shirts like I've seen in the MCM games. Half frontwards and half backwards. Now I have two pairs of hybrid drawers. I am now good for any game situation. Anytime,anywhere.  ;) 8)
That game was something special. I bet after the game some of those Dawson players jocks had been knocked backwards. Great Game Dogs!!! Another huge challenge next week. Stay focused.

This is what is in the UIL rule book
38. 3-4-4. 10-Second Subtraction from Game Clock
a. With the game clock running and less than one minute remaining in either half, if a player of either
team commits a foul that causes the clock to stop, the officials may subtract 10 seconds from the game
clock at the option of the offended team. The fouls that fall in this category include but are not limited to:
1. Any foul that prevents the snap (e.g., false start, encroachment, defensive offside by contact in
the
neutral zone, etc.);
2. Intentional grounding to stop the clock;
3. Incomplete illegal forward pass;
4. Backward pass thrown out of bounds to stop the clock;
5. Any other foul committed with the intent of stopping the clock.
The offended team may accept the yardage penalty and decline the 10-second subtraction. If the yardage
penalty is declined the 10-second subtraction is declined by rule.
b. The 10-second rule does not apply if the game clock is not running when the foul occurs or if the foul

does not cause the game clock to stop (e.g., illegal formation).
c. After the penalty is administered, if there is a 10-second subtraction, the game clock starts on the
referee’s signal. If there is no 10-second subtraction, the game clock starts on the snap.
d. If the fouling team has a timeout remaining they may avoid the 10-second subtraction by using a
timeout. In this case the game clock starts on the snap after the timeout.

One.. it seems Dawson QB spiked the ball before his guys were set so a 5 yd penatly and no 10 sec rule applied. BUT THEY CALLED AN ILLEGAL SHIFT? I don't see it..? Maybe the far end reciever? But that would be illegal motion.. right? And that's only if they run toward the line of scrimmage.. Right? I know it's pretty much the same call but just don't see it.

Ten second runoff, game over. Decline the penalty, Ned ball on downs, take a knee.....game over. No way on earth they should kick a FG to tie.
