1. 1984, PNG had won or tie for years straight. We broke the streak in front of 13,000 fans, you would have thought we won a state championship.
 2. I heard PNG sophmores lost  to Vidor... what was the score?
 3. Brock Fenn (Nederland) was transported from the medical center to Tecas Childrens Hospital for futher evaluation. The doctor's there, said that his multiple fractures in his cheek may heal on its own and may not require reconstructive surgey. They will re-evaluate in a week.
 4. How many PAM this year signed with a D1 school (FBS)? I though I saw 2 out of the 11 or 12 listed in the paper?
 5.
One kid to keep an eye on is Soph. Colby Price for Ned. He's not the strongest or fastest but he has a beautiful swing and hits the ball hard every time. Robbins may bring him up to pinch hit or just to get experience in tourneys. The JV and Soph team will be strong again this year as well.
With the depth and talent the JR and Sr class has, I dont see many sophmores going up to Varsity this year. Maybe for tournaments at the begining of the year.
 6.
Breaux is a DB who played pretty well on JV as wel...he could be a contributor as well
You are right about Breaux
 7.
Nederland had a big athletic go get the football freshman receiver, think his last name was Walker... as in the ol TJ Walkers, not sure.  Kid could be special with his frame and hands.  Also the Broussard kid is supposed to be pretty sick, never seen him play though.  J. Johnson is going to be a name folks remember as well.  He needs to have an incredible off-season and look out.
Walker hung up his cleats, he is going basketball and baseball only. I think the receiver you are thinking of is Daniel Luketich. He broke his collar bone the week before district. He has great speed and had about 6 or 7 receptions a game and a TD per game. He had big game in the scrimmage against Dayton, he had 2 or 3 TD receptions. Austin Krautz (freshman), Bordelon WR/DB (soph), Colton Broussard WR/DB (soph), Curtis Beniot (DB), Leon Mayfield (Soph) will be big contributors next year (IMO).
 8. I enjoyed watching  Katy's offense. I am not a fan of the spread as an every down offense and Katy offensse shows that old school football is not dead. I think it harder for defenses to cover a TE, RB and 2 WR on play action than it is to spread 4 WR's.
 9.
Nederlands JV finished 5-2, PNG and Liv finished tied at 6-1. Livingston will be in the mix. DC will still go through Nederland. Ozen had some really good Freshman this year (QB, WR and a LB). They will be tough in a few years.
We did not see the same Ozen team you are refering, our freshman could have hung 100 points on them. They scored 1 td, 48-6

 11.

I am hearing both sides, live and tape delay. Maybe its only tape delay in the DFW metroplex, but live outside of it? My listings for Time Warner cable says its live here, but I don't know what will happen.
I bet your right EC, probably tape delayed here and live down your way.  I think im gonna get up and go to this one tomorrow.
UIL requires 1 hour tape delay. It changes next year
 12.
So if Bmt would've went to Corpus it would've been  Bmt Band Lcm in the finals. You could've had that game right here in Setx. No need to go way to Corpus to play that game then have Bmt B blow the doors off of LCM by 50. That tells me that the competition is weak up there. Not disrespecting  LC, but BMT B is the best 8u team in the state and maybe in the Nation if they can win the NATIONAL Tournament held at the Reliant in Houton Texas
Really! Your an idiot! No class
 13. I heard the stadium site we decided to help our marching band perform at the game. They are in UIL competition this Saturday and had to be close by to make. Not sure if it true, heard from a reliable source
 14.
I love this time of year because no one really knows squat about how teams will match up... This could go either way and whoever wins will be saying I told you so as if they knew all along... Trust me, you don't know... We can't possibly know. So enjoy the trash talk to pass the time and we will see where we stand about 630 pm Saturday....
At this point in the playoffs it comes down to the same thing for both teams. No turnovers, dsciplne footbal and usually you have the best chance to win.
 15.
A lot of you dog fans are trying to make it seem like the close knit brotherhood the Nederland players posses will overwhelm the eagles, but I'd say that Georgetown matches that same brotherhood if not exceeds it. These seniors have been playing on the same side of the ball since third grade and some even younger, which explains a lot of this seasons success. The one thing that worries me is how the eagles will play in a close game. They've only been down twice this season, but for a very short period of time. Needless to say I'm a little anxious to watch this matchup
Well, it sounds like we have common ground. This senior class has played since they were in 2nd and 3rd grade and ahve been very successful every year. Last year as mostly JR's went undefeated in district with 1 loss in non-district. Looks like GT was 6-4, what changed?
 16.
Well I'm not gonna sugar coat it like everyone else. We are gonna rip Gtowns head off and S&%T down their throats. End of Story!
Thats a +1
 17.
If Angleton strummed little ned, and Georgetown rolled Angleton, what makes you clowns think Neverland stands a chance? Georgetown- 42 Neverland-      7
What do you call a strumming? I think we lost by 7 or 8.
 18.
Glad to see that someonelse saw the clock run off before they kicked the fieldgoal to go to OT! Refs dropped the ball on the last drive no doubt. Why LSU was looking at their QB I have no idea? I was not impressed with their offense at all. Maybe Neds Defense is just that much Better. I heard about some comments made by their head coach after the game about him not thinking the better team won. Well in my eyes the best team obviously won because their defense was that much better. In my eyes, PD was overrated! Just goes to show you rankings don't mean doodley squat!
Nederland's D is that good.. can make Offense's look bad.
 19.
Hard to cheer for the Dawgs from the Pearland side, I don't want to sit with Georgetown  :-X. Don't wanna get mugged for being a Pirate!
Wear your pirate stuff, all fans welcome.
 20.
no, Nederland is terrible...no way they can hang with GT...still trying to figure out how they beat Dawson and Connally and Dayton and Vidor and Crosby and Goose Creek and anybody else they beat this year...Nederland really should be about 0-13 by now...GT 76, Nederland -3 This!!!
you forgot to mention not losing a district game since the year 2010, that had bad it is
 21. Alot folks under estimate our players. If you are not from Nederland or do not know the history of the players, you will find yourslef thinking it is impossible. This group has been successful in all sports since they were 8 and 9 years old. Most teams set goals that should be achievable or in reach.  These kids expect to win and never give up. They will battle to the end and not lose focus, they know what they want! They also have excellent leadership!
 22.
I'm watching the Texas game and they just committed a penalty at the end of the 1st half and the refs assessed a 10 second runoff.  I always thought UIL used NCAA rules? Did we ever get a ref on here to explain the rule?
This is what is in the UIL rule book 38. 3-4-4. 10-Second Subtraction from Game Clock a. With the game clock running and less than one minute remaining in either half, if a player of either team commits a foul that causes the clock to stop, the officials may subtract 10 seconds from the game clock at the option of the offended team. The fouls that fall in this category include but are not limited to: 1. Any foul that prevents the snap (e.g., false start, encroachment, defensive offside by contact in the neutral zone, etc.); 2. Intentional grounding to stop the clock; 3. Incomplete illegal forward pass; 4. Backward pass thrown out of bounds to stop the clock; 5. Any other foul committed with the intent of stopping the clock. The offended team may accept the yardage penalty and decline the 10-second subtraction. If the yardage penalty is declined the 10-second subtraction is declined by rule. b. The 10-second rule does not apply if the game clock is not running when the foul occurs or if the foul 7 does not cause the game clock to stop (e.g., illegal formation). c. After the penalty is administered, if there is a 10-second subtraction, the game clock starts on the referee’s signal. If there is no 10-second subtraction, the game clock starts on the snap. d. If the fouling team has a timeout remaining they may avoid the 10-second subtraction by using a timeout. In this case the game clock starts on the snap after the timeout. [Hidden Content]
 23.
You dog fans need to look at the scores that Georgetown has allowed all season before you claim to have the better defense. Georgetown has allowed an avg 13.5PPG Nederland has allowed an avg 13 PPG So I don't see how either team can claim the better D. But no one can argue who has the better O. Go Eagles 31-24 Eagles Also don't let today's 39 points scored on Georgetown fool ya to think the Eagles defense inst great. The turnovers were the issue. Eagles turned the ball on their own side too much and gave Angleton great field position. Hope it's a great game. Safe travels to all
Turnover and penaltie are always an issue. the best team does not turnover the ball over and committ penalties that hurt your team. But Angleton had their share as well to help GT's O.
