Im with you on that! Freshman are 1-1 in district and 2-3 overall. JV is 1-1 in district, i think they are 3-2 overall. Freshman has RB Krautz that is one to watch in the next year or so.
Is he a big back, small with speed or a combo of size and speed?
I would say combo, 15 year old that is 5'9 about 140lbs, with a lot of speed. He had an older brother play a few years back and then went to Lamar on a track scholarship

I like to see stuff proven on the field before I go spoutin off that's all.  And by the way... Lumberton wins a lot in STJFL too.. sometimes the translation is lost, so forgive me for wanting to see the business on the varsity football field... like I am currently seeing this year's group do.  Where do you get 4 soph starters also.  I've got Seay and Barton, of which only Seay plays all the snaps, Barton is a package player, no discredit to him he is going to be a great one.  Johnson has played extensively against the slot/wing T offenses, but not against the conventional offenses.  Barton/Johnson will be great players in time, just don't add up to the 4 starters mentioned.
Not sure what you are talking about, it seems like you just want to argue. Who is patting their selves on the back. I said I believe we have 4 starters, I was not sure. If I am not mistaken, Barton and Sage start, Johnson has started, and was not sure if Stewart is a Jr or soph (also was not sure if he started). For some reason you think Im comparing STJFL to the talent we have now. I never mentioned youth football until you did. There is no comparing 11 & 12 year olds to 16, 17, & 18 year olds and how kids develop etc. Some ofthe comments on this thread is looking at the recent history as last years Freshman's class, they were undefeated and most games were over by halftime. Sounds like you have an issues about talking about the future and acknowleding that we have some talented kids coming up.
 6.
I have a better idea, let's move this thread to the YOUTH FOOTBALL SECTION, they can hash it out between the STJFL posts.
The post was not offend the Sr class, they are excellent group and I know a lot of the young men. You are correct, it is their time and they own the team. Great SR leadership! However this thread is about under classman and it was a compliment to the sophmore class as whole. I dont know where you get youth football out that.  I dont know how much you know about the Freshman, Sophmore, and Sr class, but since you brought up the STJFL, the all won STJFL championships.
 7.
Broussard had 3 TD catches against Livingston, 1 for about 70 in the first quarter and half.  And an INT return to about the 5 where he got shoved out and broke his ankle on that play.  3 sport athlete--hope he'll be back soon!
Colton is a great athlete and will succeed in any sport he wants to. He could be a 5 sport athlete if they did not conflict. I hope he has a speedy recovery! Great kid

To not hear what is being said, means you are not at the right places in Nederland. I think it's kind of silly to say untrue things about some of these kids.  Be respectful, 04, I know you have a hard time doing that. And if you want to bash any of these kids, I will personally invite you to my house and you can tell what you know as fact.  That's an invite ;) As I have said, the future of Nederland is bright, how ever the coaches decide.  They must be living right in Nederland. 8) 8) 8)
I know 04 can defend himself, but where do you get disrespect? Back on topic, I think the sophmore class this year is much like the senior class this year. They are very talented. I think we will see a lot of Jr's starting next year. I beleive we have 4 sophmores that start now on varsity. It will be interesting how it plays out. I was told that Jack Lynch at CO said he has never had so much talent on 1 team the year the sophmore group was in 8th grade.
 9.
White is excellent as QB, strong arm, tall and athletic.  White is set to lead the Dogs next season and Smith to follow.  Smith is very confident in any sport he plays, very athletic, tall and great size.  Both run effective offense and BOTH are team players, no whinning from either of those players.  Great kids off the field as well. Both tremendous baseball pitchers and players.  These players are the best arms (accurate and smart football players) in the bunch and are team players. Jones is definetly at the right level. The future looks bright in Nederland... No controversy in Nederland, maybe you, football04, should head to reservation ...... for that .......8) 8) 8)
No offense 1987, I do not think 04 was stirring up controversy. I think he saying that we are deep and many options, so it will be wide open next year. I do agree, that there is a progression and it looks obvoius, but you never know. I know all 4 players and wish them well.
 10.
NO offense to Mr. seay who is a great player, but he is not the same type of athlete to do all the things trevin sonnier did.Mr. Krautz or if Mr. Richard comes back are the next trevin sonnier/michael shaw/ryan butler/sean yoder type athletes, that can score from any where on the field.
I disagree abour Seay, do agree about Krautz, and do not think Richard will come back, he is an athlete not really a football player. Richard would be a good receiver but not an all purpose player (he should be playing baseball). Broussard on Jv has a huge leg and think he would be happy just kicking, but can be a great addition to the receiving core, fast, good size, good athlete. The most important about all the kids mention that they are great kids.
 11.
The freshmen linemen are plenty aggressive. I would count on a few of the offensive linemen being on varsity next year. You are correct about the lack of depth.
JV QB is Bret Smith, Freshman QB is Jacob Jones. Both teams are good but not dominate. Not sure about JV, but the Freshman do not have any depth, short on receivers and agressive lineman. Freshman lost 3 kids that started at CO wilson to basketball and another WR moved to Bridge City.

I did not mean to offend the line, I think we are work in progress at this point.

Get ready because it will be a down year in every sport at PNG! You heard here first, Faircloth WILL LEAVE after this season!
Note:  These are a lot of the same football  players that played STJFL a few years back, now playing high school football for PNG. Correct, if I am wrong (which I am not)....PNG for the next several years is football poor because of the current talent pool of football players.  Back in STJFL a few years ago, PNG got whipped by Nederland and other teams to say the least for several years in a row.  I remember a game that was 55-0 and Nederland held back from scoring more, and that was one game of many for PNG. PNG could not stop us defensively and they could not move the ball on us anyway, passing or running. (Faircloth didn't coach those teams and it was terrible for PNG, then, which are a lot of your varsity players today). The best option to improve the football team quickly is to have transfers come in for key positions. (Of course, for academic reasons or relocation).  ;D PNG has many talented athletes but sometimes there is a drought at key positions.  This would make a difference for athletes already there. Most importantly, the defense for PNG is what I have said all year is a big key to PNG improving.  You need to buy a couple of linebackers and size/speed would not hurt either. I do dread MCM and am thinking of  renaming it MCS (Mid-County Sadness).  It will be terrible for PNG to face the Nederland team.  That is not being cocky, it's hoping that PNG faithful understand understand sometimes you just don't have the tools to compete.  This is one of those years for PNG. Hope things improve for PNG.  They have a great tradition. Go Dogs! Also, I do hear good things from STJFL current PNG football teams.  There is hope in a few years for PNG.
A good coach would recognoze his talent and adjust to help them be successful. Running the spread when you do not a spread personel IMO is not good coaching. The problem with the spread is yougive your opponent to many possesions. Then add turnovers and you are looking at some losses. I hope they adjust, MCM could get ugly. I like when the game is competative.
 14.
GoDogs, I guess I am just expecting a lot of this team. They have probably the most balanced team and the most skilled team I have ever seen in Nederland on both sides of the ball. All the key components are there to be a really truly dominant team in the state This year. I didn't want to go after the play calling because I'm trying to assume good intentions, but I thought it was play calling out of fear,,, playing flat out not to lose.... And it showed.... Just like in anything sports excessive caution and fear result in injury and loss. I'm tired of see coaching scared. This team is awesome, trust them and turn them loose!. Stop being nice and screwing around with mediocre teams like Vidor. Open up that playbook put the hammer down and start running over these teams and playing like you are going to win a championship this year. Vidor was no better than Goose creek, but we played them scared (too careful) and it almost Cost them a pointless loss. They'll be fine? Forget that. Go for it Coaches, the worst thing that can happen is you lose a district game. But if you do youre not that good anyway. Pull outthe stops and start crushing teams and lets win it all this year.
Would you rather be the 17-1 patriots and sit home and watch the superbowl or be the 13-6 giants and win the superbowl? Every game has its challenges...
 15.
Beaumont Peewee Blue Do Not have to cheat- We are tired of coaches and opposing fans/parents trying to humiliate this team. All summer, every weekend and after every game someone has tried to bring them down. Coach Derrick Rivers and staff are getting tired of all this Drama. For now on Do Not ask for a running clock. Teams are throwing the towel in and then after the game they complain about a few (STUDS) playing the entire game or wanting to protest  because they feel like some players aren't getting their 10 plays. FYI, even with a running clock and our Studs, as you call them,  Do Not Play the entire game and ALL our players get their plays.. #1 has 4 carries for 4 touchdowns, #3 has 6 carries for 5 touchdowns and #10 has 8 carries for 6 td's. And thats thru 2 games. We only have 18 offensive plays so far this year. Don't you know that those kids run track and train very hard all summer. They are highly ranked in the Nation in several events. Sorry if we have them and you don't. Everyone knows this team was gonna be special this year. For now on, just ask the score keeper not to keep score because we're not doing the running clock anymore. Thank the complainers and whiners for this future opponents
Boy, times have changed! A few years ago Beaumont was screaming the same things you posted. We scored on 4 times on our first 6 plays. It never fells, great teams get slandered for being good. Just remember, when you dont have the teams, dont cry unsportmanship. Beaumont, lets your kids enjoy the season and play by the rules, win with pride and respect

Did u actually go?
I was there and my son is on the Freshman team. I actually thought they scored 20 td's (no kidding). It was embarrassing! It was the worse football I have ever seen. We have some good players, they won district in middle school, they just need to toughen up. We have good coaches and I know they will get this team where they need to be by disctrict.

To make sure that you werent breaking any of them.  Secondly, STJFL has a rule that you can't stack a team.  PA was accused of Stacking one of their teams.  But can someone please explain how PNG has 3 teams in a division and they all finish with different record. 1 team 8 - 0, the next 4 - 4 and the other 0-8.  Now they say that they drafted their teams. But what coach do you know would draft all kids to a team that would be 0-8. Please Explain. And Lastly, PA people and fans.  Our high school Memorial Titans are going thru the same thing right now as we speak.  None of the teams that have association with the STJFL want to play our kids.  Race has nothing to do with it, ITS TALENT.  Our kids from Flag to High School has tremedous talent on all levels.  At the High School Level. PNG has backed out of their game with Memorial, but says that they would scrimmage us.  Nederland has said that he would never play Memorial. And the other schools are just to afraid to even think about playing us.  So it has nothing to do with race.  ITS ABOUT THE TALENT WE HAVE IN PA. They can run all they want, but when colleges come to SE Texas, they dont stop in Nederland, Pt. Neches or even Bridge City.  They go to PORT ARTHUR.  Oh except for LAMAR.
What does high school football have to do with it? This is youth football you cannot predict how kids are going to play and how coaches will coach at this level. I have seen good teams with talent not do well and poor talent do well with good coaching. Also, it depends what division you play in. So I dont think you automatically say a team is stacked. It comes down to DID YOU FOLLOW THE RULES? Why do you think teams do not want to play PA? If that was the case, how did you get in? WOS has the best talent year in and year out. I always wanted to play WOS it make our kids better. I willing to bet that there are not too many teams out there that are scared to play PA. I think you trying to change the subject. I have no knowledge of the issues, however I know from sitting on the board for 8 years that it is difficult  job. When there are issues, all the association have different opinions. When that happens, there is usually a divide and becomes a no win situation. But it always comes down why? For years the STJFL has tried to accomodate everyone and have special meeting to help each other but over time, the league loses credibility. The rules are in place for a reason, if the rules needs to be rivised to fit the league then a process must be followed.
Are you a current board member?
If you are asking me, no I am no longer a board member. Like I said, I have no knowledge of the situation. I only posted because I know first hand that all the issues that came up when I ws involved seemed to divide everyone. When you have a large organization, not everyone is agoing to agree. When the rules are broken wheteher they are honest or intentional, everyone in the room wants to be fair. It is not always the outcome that outsiders understand. The STJFL has about 3000 parents & volunteers and only about 15 to 20 people in the board room. So the story is not always the same when everyone gets out the board room. I will say everyone  would rather not be dealing with issues but rather looking at ways to improve the game for the kids. No one likes conflict or deal problems. Every year that I was involved, the meetings were consumed by how can we include more kids. Weight changes, birthdate evaluations, etc. Everyone had a say, everyone had a vote. Over the years I saw how some of the issues became hard to resolve without effecting kids, but is adults that cause the issue. Like I said, I do not know what the issues are and why PA was dropped but I wanted to let you know, whatever decsions were made was not easy.

 23.
I love debates. Now Enjun the reason I think Quirante is the MVP of the district is you have to ask yourself this question. Could Jakobi do what Quirante did and vice versa. IMO anything Jones did Quirante could do if he was in his position. I mean q had 1000+ yards rushing (that's only 400 behind Jones) and still passed for almost 400 AND lead the team in tackles AND had one interception AND punted 4 times this year. Now ask yourself this. Could Jakobi Jones do all that? . .. ... .... ..... .... ... .. . And that is why i think Quirante deserved the MVP title. I would think the kids would want to be remembered by their play not their taunting. I would never let any player I coached act like or they would be on the bench. They should understand at this age they represent their community and school. So if it is tolerated then it accepted by the school, coaches, and community. Good luck
