Groves 40       Vidor    0 8B. Groves 8     Vidor  0
Just curious, 2 previous Port Neches Groves posters said C.O. Wilson beating Groves 43 to 18 last week showed lack of sportsmanship and no class. They said C.O. Should have taken a knee at end of game instead of trying to score. Can you explain why Groves decided to win tonite 40 to 0. Isn't it showing a lack of sportsmanship and class to continue to score on an opponent, at any point in the game, when the outcome of the game is already decided???
If you were there you would have seen the turnovers and kickoffs not caught or even downed. We also took out our starting quarterback for most of the 4th quarter. I am not saying anything about sportsmanship the C.O. game but your smaller backup players only got to play 2 downs before the starters got done getting a drink and came back in for rest of game.
My post was not intended for PNG fans to defend themselves on their comments. I was just pointing out that coaches do things whether we agree or not. I am only taking up for what they do for our players (practice, etc). I think most youth coaches and coaches in general would have kneel'd the ball. He chose not to. The head coach has been over there for 40 years, so I dont think his opposing coaches were suprised.

Livingston has a huge surprise for Ned. Reckon what it is? Probably something totally insurmountable. A real live lion? A sasquatch? A Liger (thats half lion half tiger). A 400 yd passing game? A megatron(whatever that is)? A Hypnotist? A big giant armadillo? Tyarmadillus Rex. (The tyrant armadillo king). Whatever it is we sho is scared. Maybe its walkin the walk instead of talkin the talk. You know the great part about this matchup is that there's absolutely no pressure on Ned. If they win it will be a huge upset. If they lose then they were supposed to. Some of Livingstons fans have warned us. We sho do appreciate the heads up. Gosh. If the unthinkable, impossible, nightmarish, one chance in a million happens and them poor, undersized, young, fearful, overmatched, slow, disorganized, nervous, undisciplined, lethargic, cowering, overrated Bulldogs were to happen to pull off the unthinkable, abominable, unlikely, never spoken of in public, ridiculous to imagine, task beyond all odds and win this game it's gonna be a long drive back to the woods. Maybe someone would truck in a bunch of counselors to help the populace up there overcome such tragedy. Course if Ned loses as we all know they will because we was warned then we simply go back to work to try and earn a spot in the playoffs. Pretty simple. We ain't no good cause the ultra famous Livingston oracles have said so, therefore it has to be true. They'll probably be state champs again this year in both divisions because the stars are properly aligned and someone up there has a chickens foot and maybe some other voodoo stuff. I'm hidin under my computer desk tomorrow night cause I'm a coward and scared of all that secret stuff. Lawd hep us. It ain't our fault. I better go have another beer medicine cause I feel another cryin fit comin on. Bye bye.
If Livingston loses, I would suggest filing a lawsuit with the UIL. ;) ;D
AAW,it really disgusts me that you are an admin of this site and have resorted to completely childish behavior regarding this whole matter...AAW, it is time for you to grow up, get over what ever your problem with this thing is and move on and quit beating a dead horse just to amuse yourself...hopefully, I am not being too ambiguos here!
Agree with RAZOR, could not have said it better
 4. This school ball, this not youth ball. Not evryone will agree when coach decides to keep playing and try to score even it is the last play with the first team. I will say that the CO coaches do great job with the boys, they teach disciple and never quite attitude. If the coach decides to kneel or throw a 80 yard TD that is his choice. He has his reasons... just like if the opposing coach scores on the last play against CO team, coach would not whine about it, he would  hold his players accountable to why they scored and use that as motivation for the next game or when they meet again. I coached a football all star team against png one year and the game got out of hand, I asked the coach if they wanted to run the clock. He said no and keep playing hard, we have to stop yall and if the score ends up 50 - 0 thats fine. Our players need to step up. I happend to agree with that. Its my job to stop you, not the other team to stop playing

Do not know if they will be allowed to play against Livingston or not. I know rumors are Nasty so has anyone else heard anything on this??
Why was their suspension cut in half? ; ;D
You got your answer on the other thread... why do you keep this up? I cant believe you have admin status, i would think admin folks would use better judgement. Go to other thread to gossip
 6.
I see...so apparently some parents didn't agree with their child paying the consequences for what they did. To each their own I guess...
This is last time I will post on this thread. Everyone wants to judge and not know the FACTS. There are many on this thread do not know. How do you know the kids did not already pay enough for what they did? How do you what the parents punishments were? You dont, so dont judge! Im done
Nope I am still waiting on an answer and then I'll be through with it. ;) ;D
There is an appeal process. It seems like they appealed and can be reinsted during the appeal. If they lose the appeal they will have finish their punishment where they left off. My understanding appeals take 10 to 20 days. I am not in the know, it is something I heard and seems to make since. This is a right of all students no matter if they are athletes, band or regular students. Also someone mentioned that they are back beacuse they play football and it a big game. Well, there are some still not released they play football too. I assume the others will follow now they know about it
 8.
well fan this week i have heard all the hot garbage I can stand  Let make the math simple for nederland gp we scored 42 points crosby we scored 29 points tc we scored 41 points livingston we scored 28 points That is an avg of 35 points a game but ned is going to hold us to 20 or less I dont see it Now except for goose creek game nederland has been squeeking wins out. So ...... will see but its time to look at this with real eyes and not purple shaded ones or black and gold goggles  Png wins 35-24 One more thins Port neches has a leash law keep them critters on a leash
This is funny... just wait, Vidor will suprise you. I predict Vidor will beat PNG. Then you will wish would have squeeked by

PNGs bond passed before the economy tanked. Nederlands bond was up for vote after the fact. It was also too much. They wanted to completely tear down three of the elementary schools and that's just unnecessary. I personally voted yes but that's simply because of the stadium renovations. I think the vote was like 21 for and 79 against. Not sure what Nederlands gonna have to do to pass one. Making it more reasonable is a start though. Nobody said that the money from the refineries was to pays refs lol. The money certainly helps with funding projects and new equipment, etc. though. I'm not naïve enough to think that png will always have an upperhand on Nederland with these things though. Nederland is landlocked and doesn't have the benefit of two communities and refineries.
The Administration is working on one now for 1 school.
I know this is not the purpose if the thread but I could not help myself to comment. Im still puzzled about the perception of the failed bond. 1- would have not lost any jobs. 2 - the value of our homes will go down if we do not invest in our schools... so it will cost you either way. 3- PNG did the right thing and think they understand better than we do what it does for the kids, community, and the ovrall png economy. I know of a dozen folks that moved to mid county in the last 8 months and they all built or purchased homes in port neches because of the shools.
Because Beaumont never seems to truly deal with the problem.  They let the kid who got caught smoking weed in Orange play basketball.  Winning was more important that teaching a kid a lesson.  He ended up doing the same thing at college and lost the scholarship.  BISD has some responsiblity for not holding the kid accountable when they could have.  At least NISD is suspending them from extracurricular activities for 6 weeks.  Must not have been a coach who caught them though!!!lol
And Ned delt with their last 'problem' by letting those 3 kids swappin' head meds back on the team.  Yeah, they didn't play but they were on the team.  Now the kid that got arrested in class is another talk show but Ned is far from perfect when it comes to dealing with it's 'problems'.  A lot of those 'problems' get lucky and get hired on to place like where I work and we all have to deal with them
Respectfully, why don't y'all shut the heck up and quit complaining about something that has nothing to do about anything.  BISD kids, NISD kids, SISD, LISD ...they're no different.  Leave it alone unless you plan on proposing a solution instead of bi&%$ing the whole thread.
Sorry.  But I stated a biased position based on past history.  The solution has been implimented but we'll see if Nuemann will stick to it this time...
I am not going to to get into details on a forum what happen, but most, if not all the folks commenting on this post dont know the details. What I will say, it is not as bad as some of you may think. All the students involved were given same punishment by the school administation. Some of them dont play football or fall sports so they are not impacted from participating in UIL activities. Once they pay for what they did, they should be reinstated just like "no pass no play"... they will pay for their actions, move on. By the way both starters are Juniors. Also, someone mentioned that Nederland players in years past were dealing or doing drugs, whatever...  the ones involved in this issue was not. What started out to be harmless turned into a stupid decision.
 11.
Sept 20th....Raiders vs PNG @ Lumberton. This will be a great preview of things to come!
Which team Pn or Groves? If I remeber correctly the only loss CO had last year was against Lumberton and we had a chance to win with 50 seconds left inside the 5 yd line. Yes, we choked... but  I dont think that will happen this year

If H-F as good as I hear, we need a challenge. Call or middle school coaches
Do your homework before just running your mouth.
I am not running my mouth at all. CO coaches said WOS had to back for some reason also the same story came from some one from WOS. He was not sure why either. We were scheduled to play WOS in WOS . So whats the story? Instead of taking offense, why dont you just say why. By the way the comment about needing a challenge was not meant towards WOS. WOS is always a challenge and love to play yall. Rather play a competitive game instead a scrimmage... but a scrimmage is better than nothing at all.

 19.
Does anyone here have the total budget for extra-curricular activities for Nederland ISD?
Define  extra-curricular? Band, Performing Arts, Choir, Soccer, Baseball, Football, girls softball, academic clubs, etc... Sports have booster club and  fundraisers, like tomorrow is the golf tournament to raise money. Smitty, why dont you go and support the kids! The budget is submitted every year for all groups. But football pays for a lot of stuff. $7 per ticket x 3000 fans per game is a lot of money. Believe me, when you go into the field house they are doing without... lockers falling apart and the entire facilty does not look appealling. Its funny everyone wants to bring up football to justify the bond. There will be a bond. The one they were going to bring to the votes a few weeks ago was going to be around 40 million (thats what I heard from a reliable source) that was only going to patch the schools, the board decided not to go through with it. The last bond in 2009 was asking for turf and press box, not a new stadium. So get the facts right, also, if we do not do somethin soon, our community will slip beyond recovery. I think the 2 elected will hold the district accountable for spending money, and I do beleive they will support a bond. Lastly, Nederland tax rate @ 1.11 per thousand is the lowest rate in Jefferson county. Our tax rate is lower now than it was 10 years ago.
 20.
Bulldog, why must the 8th grade use a varsity size ball when it's not a requirement in season?
The varisty ball is what we play with in our district, but if you use the smaller ball that will be ok. I remember last year HF used a smaller ball, but I dont remember yall using it. Use whatevr you use in school.

 22. It is not sponsored by the school. All the teams are put together from their school district. Sorry for the delay on info. We had to get the dates set and place to play. The dates will be July 22nd and July 29th ( 2 separate tournaments) July 22 will be in Nederland, July 29 TBD. Please send me a message with your e-mail if you to put in a team. There will a bracket for 7th grade and a bracket for 8th grade. You can mix 7th & 8th grade but will have to play in the 8th grade bracket. 7th graders will use a TDJ or equivalent and 8th grade can use whatever size they use in district play. All teams guaranteed 3 games. Once I get everyones info, I can set up a contact list so you can set-up scrimmages during the summer if you like.
