Right now we have Nederland, WOS, Bridge City, Lumberton, Hamshire Fannett, PNG. 7th graders play their own bracket, and 8th graders play theirs. Each team is guaranteed 3 games, 2 pool game then bracket play. 2 20 minute halves. We pretty much follow the Texas state tourney rules.  Each team usually has about 13 to 16 players. I know Gasilla is ready ;D Will WOS have a 7th and 8th grade this year? I should have the dates set in the next couple of weeks, trying to get the refs lined up and make sure they wont be tied up doing high school scrimmages.

You are correct, -8 is legal, -10.5 or greater is not. Any of you need a bat let me know, make you a real good deal.... purchased online at baseball express.

I just heard that composite bats cannot be used for Babe Ruth unless they -3 drop or all alloy barell at any drop. I just purchased a new Demarini CF4 23/31 all composite (-8 drop), which is only good fro USSSA and Nations. Just wanted to let everyone know. I do agree it is not that difficult now days to pad your reputation on playoff apperances, but there are many teams in our district that dont ever make it. Nederalnd's playoff runs started in the 90's when Neumann got the job. Yes, he has not won an out right district championship but most of the other teams in the district during his tenure have not either. At least he was co-champs a few times. Everyone needs to go and read the post from the 20-4a all district thread, most of the posters when mention the Coach of the Year, most of them agree Nuemann should have received the award. Our competition recognizes adversity and how difficult it can be.

One more point, if you go to the games or buy a program you will notice over the last few years we only have about 40 players on varsity and 30% to 40% are under-classman, so there is not much depth and is very hard to replace key players if they get injured. One example this year is QB and losing Trevin for a game against Vidor & BH. I believe that we win that game if Trevin is out there.
