2.
NO team has stopped SC and now we're in full playoff mode. If it weren't for SC taking all the tough opponents in round 1 & 2, Nederland, Tomball, & PC would have been one n done.  You owe SC a lot of gratitude and THIS is how you repay us?!  With doubt and hate?!  You need to slap yourself in the mouth and give an apology right this instant!
Here we go again... why dont you stay on your thread and take one game at a time... if you are lucky to win today AND next week, you will get a shot a Nederland. All this talk sounds like you are envious of Nederland
 3.
3b you got scouting info on PC?
here is your scouting report from Nuemann [Hidden Content]
 4.
PNG should be a little better team next year, still going to lose to Nederland. But 2014 and beyond PNG should be fairly dominant.
I do not see it happening in 2014
 5.
To Coach indianchief 23, If you know more about coaching then coach Faircloth does, then apply to the school board for the job. I am sure you will have PN-G  in the state playoffs ever year.
I bet Chief would not run a QB sneak on 4th and 1 from the shotgun
 6.
this thread ain't about sc...Nederland  28, PC 14
Agree, the SC thing is getting old.

All Nederland's hopes n dreams are squashed when/if they play Summer Creek. I know many posters don't believe A + B = C predictions, but if Nederland played Dayton close (the game could have been 21-14), then Nederland looks to get blown out by SC. SC needs to beat an excellent Georgetown team, then look out. I can't see SC scared of rematches against BH or Crosby. Nederland looks very beatable. The team that has my eyebrows raised is DAWSON.
You can't win if you can't score, its been WOS's claim to fame under Hooks and Thomson forever. Although Nederland offense is still sputtering, Their defense is not and is as solid as any playoff defense I have seen in person in my 18 years of neglecting my family to watch as many playoff games as possible. Dayton could have very easily been a shutout. A short field due to a very questionable call and one busted play was all that kept Dayton from a shut out. Otherwise, Nederlands offense only let them get close enough for Carranco to miss a long field goal. Defense wins champoinships... brother we got some defense this season. All Nederlands offense typically needs is 10-14 points to win, and they can do that all day long against anyone. Im not saying they will win another game, or win it all. Im just saying this Nederland defense is not going to give away points, you are going to have to earn it and my moneys on them in a low scoring game.
A question: Did Nederland play all starters for the entire Vidor game? Sc was playing second string in most of the fourth quarter against Vidor, and Vidor struggled to move the ball. It took Vidor a while to make their final score against the SC second string.
Who cares! We can talk in 2 more  rounds if you are lucky enough to make that that far. Enjoy this season... You will 5a before long, then you SC folks with have to deal PAM
 8.
Nederland will go as far as Carson Raines takes us. We know what we are going to get from our D, Hopkins and the o-line will keep doing there thing. But D and Running game are not going to be enough to keep advancing. If Raines plays smart and controlled football we will do great things. If he starts to throw a bunch of INT's and fumble it could be the end of the season.
VThis is the case with any team and psotion, not just with our QB. Turnovers will kill any team. Vidor started the game last week with 3 fumbles, that is hard to recover from.
 9.
Nederland is sounding more and more suspect.  How did Angleton roll up 30+ points on this amazing defense?  You guys are in trouble. Doesn't sound like you're too confident in Nederland's passing game. You gotta be able to pass in order to stay with SC.
I would be worreid about you next opponent not worry about Nederland.
 10. As much as everyone likes to, you cant compare all the games played against other teams. It is all about match ups... a power running game like vidor does not compare to a spread offense of Dayton. You could tell that Dayton did not want Nederland to control the game with the running game and stacked the box, thats why we had big plays down the field with single coverage. It is about 1 game at time and getting everyone healthy, Nederland had 2 starting lineman out yestarday and hoepfully get them back soon.
 11. I remeber playing against Guilbeaux when we were sophmores and I stopped cover the recievers after about 50 yards and he did throw it about 60+in the air for a TD... I could not believe it
 12. I played against the QB for 2 years, he was a stud.. We actually had a chance to win our game against them in 84 if it was not for 2 missed field goals.
 13.

PNG Defense has been weak for the last 4 years.  Do you think its because everyone only learns 1 position and the best athletes do not play both ways.  You can't coach with a 5A mentality with 4A players.  You cant expect to outscore everyone (except for this year) without playing defense. Here's a thought: Instead of switching out defensive coordinators every couple of years how about getting out of the 3 /4 defense. It works great when you have massive D-lineman at the 5A levels but unfortunately we do not have that. You cant put all of the blame on the players when you change nothing on defense. Wake up ! The Honeymoon period is over !!
O, ok, 3 years Not the last four years. In 2009, we had the best defense in the district and one of the best in the state. That defense held Lumberton to 6 points, Livingston, Nederland, Barbers Hill (the second time), and Crosby to 7 points, a very experienced and highly vaunted Vidor team to 13, a fast Texas City to 16 and a fast Ozen to 20, an explosive, lightening fast Central offense to 22 points, and eventual state finalist Brenham to 27. The following year, the defense started out rough, but got better as the season went on and was good enough to help our offense take us on the deepest playoff run since 1999. It's only been the last two years that the defense has really suffered, and based on the scores so far this year at sub-varsity levels, that may not be the case much longer (hopefully won't).
14.
Not that it matters, but I still think the stjfl should have left things like they were, larger districts wind up with more teams so the tallent is split, just seems watered down with 6-8(w/flag) super bowl champions in 3 age groups, play the teams in your age gpoup and have one Champion, the old system was fine for a league this size, or take one season and do playoffs big school - small school and then play big against small for the title and see how many big schools win vs how many small schools win and I'll bet it's pretty even.
agree, big schools split which balances the talent. Besides, WOS (small school) is always in the hunt and not matter if you are big or small, usually the road to the championship goes through WOS.

Go Big Ned & Vidor!!!
Even though I'm a bulldogs fan, Ozen could go the furthest in our district thanks to the new format
What new format?
20-4a 1,2 plays 19-4a 2,1 and 20-4a 3,4 plays 19-4a 4,3 instead of 1v4 etc.. so Ozen will be playing an easier team
I dont think that is new, it has been around for a while.

Bmt B has a few players (1,3,and 10) that would be top 5 players in Jrs. Ned B don't have a Top 10 peewee player ;D
Lol .....U think
Bmt will make you a believer on Sunday. They're gonna blow the doors off of Ned B. 52-12 is my prediction. But I've been wrong before
Probably higher than 52, just because its the Super Bowl.
What about sportsmanship by removing your starters and the mercy rule? Why would you want hang 50+  and win by 40 points against 7 and 8 year olds.

SMH, why that kid comes off field for JV on defense and hope they move him up for playoffs. Kid tackles, strong and fast, fast, fast!!!!!!! Breaux does so much on defense as well.  Look for him to do big things next season as well. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
I think they should bring up Boredelon, he is the JV's offense
agree, he is going to be contribute next year on varsity.
The freshman for Nederland against Dayton threw 3 tds and only had 2 incompletions. That was probably overshadowed by our poor defensive performance and gave 15 TD's
it was overall assestment for fresh ned team, not the frsh qb. didnt mean that there wasnt good things. just not enough to talk about at scrimmage vs dayton. 21.
He's talking about when Ned sophs and PNG sophs were Freshman.  Nederland dismantled PNG's current sophomores in that game, much like this years PNG freshman dismantled Nederlands.  In my opinion, Nederland has the upper hand next year.  The following year when the current sophs are seniors, and the current Freshman are juniors, you'll have a coin flip as the PNG freshman will be strong contributors. The PNG / Nederland 8th graders are pretty even, with possibly a nod to PNG, but I think that CO/Central class will see a huge leap in overall ability when combined, Central really has some players. Nederland 7th grade gets the nod over PNG based on where they stand at this point and how games played out this year, but a lot could change since they are still so young.
I disagree, if watch last years Freshman game is was 30 something to 0 at halftime. The Nederland starters did not play much in the 2nd half. They could have score 80 points if they wanted to. This years game, the PNG team played the starters most of the game. If go back watch the game, this year Nederland Freshman had 4 chances in the red zone and came up empty on dropped balls that could have TD's. I will admit, if want to be considered at good team, you make those plays. PNG Freshman are very good have earned every win. But I would not compare last year Freshman game to this years. This years game, PNG scored as much as they could, PNG did not do anything that other teams have done to our defense.
 22.
PNG's freshman QB is one of the best I've seen at that age, that has nothing to do with coaching, plus you allowed 2 returns for TD's how is that coaching.  You may not have the best coaching, but you got flat out beat by PNG, give it a rest, you'll have another chance.
Well, I am not going to bash our coaches, but if you know your team and know that we have trouble open field tacking, you pooch kick to prevent a big play. PNG did beat us, no excuses. PNG QB is very good, but I dont think the Freshman team is loaded. Also, I think there is not much in front of that class (Soph, Jr's). Nederland is reloading when we lose our SR class this year and will easily be able blend our current Freshman with the current 8th graders in the future. The current sophmore class  is stacked and will be ok. For all you posters on here thinking Nederland will not be making a run for DC's, you are under estimating what we really have. The current (CO Wilson)Freshman dominated PN and Groves in middle school. PNG gained the upper hand when they merged. We lost a few players, I think we will gain what we lost when the 8th grade class fills in those losses when they get to sophmore/juniors. We will be fine. Also, comparing the Ozen game with PNG and Vidors score, well PNG has not played Ozen if I remeber correctly and Vidor Freshman gave up 30 points. Nederland gave 14 and 1 of the scores were set up by a pooch kick off and the Ozen player took it down the sidleine to the 5 yd line. So Defense played well.
 23.
Anybody have a score for the Ned/ Ozen freshman- A game. Had to work tonight and couldn't make it.
49-14 Played both sides of the ball tonight. Great running game and timely passing. Score was 21-0 before the first quater was over. Both scores by Ozen were set up by long kick off returns, they never drove the ball down the field
