4.
I've gotta go watch Johnny Football win the Heisman.  That's my only shot at being happy with football today. Great season Dogs!!  Way to represent 20-4a
That's exactly what I was thinking!
 5.
Great season Dogs. One round farther than the 2011 Dogs. 2013 Dogs Semi-Final bound?
Losing too much talent for that to happen IMO, but anything can happen on Friday nights. All we can do is wait and see!
 6. 24-0 Georgetown on a TD pass. Game looks to be out of hand unless Nederland has a couple of miracles. Georgetown is moving the ball way too easily and Nederland is committing far too many penalties to mount a comeback.
 7. It'd be nice to get 7 on the board and some momentum before the half, especially since we get the ball back to start the 2nd.
 8. Had a problem with the live feed of last week's game. Couldn't get it to play on my iPhone or my laptop. I'm praying that the issue is fixed before tomorrow's game or my phone is going to die from pressing the refresh button too many times!!
 9.
One more day till Nederland is region 3 champs.  8)
I like the sound of that 8)

I find it a shame that the hardwork your team and coaches have put in to earn the respect, good sportsmanship and discipline that they are known for, to be torn down by a fanbase that is the opposite, showing extreme disrespect to their opponent.  Once you see what our team will do this Saturday, I feel certain you will be a lot more humble in your feeling towards our team and fanbase, and possibly, have some respect.  We want to play the best teams, we welcome that. We want to see what we are made of. So bring it Saturday, the DOGS sure are, just like we did for Dawson.  I expect Georgetown will do the same.  These boys are going to play their hearts out and leave it all on the field.  IF we don't win, you will witness a true champion in the good sportsmanship they will show in congratulating your team.  All we ask, is that Georgetown do the same for us.  Good luck to both of our teams Saturday, and may the best team win! GO BULLDOGS....beat the Eagles!!!!!!
:-* I'm voting you in for sweetest little Boy Scout 2012
Pay attention...look at my signature line under my posts....smh ::) Proud Mother of a US NAVY SAILOR
Sorry about that. I normally try not to pay too much attention to Nederland fans, because of all the nonsense that spews out of their big mouths.
Wow. I hope we win this week so I don't ever have to listen to your crap again. The only reason you came on here and made an account is to talk trash. If you can't admit that it is going to be a close game, you are drinking waaaaaay too much of your team's kool-aid. There are rarely blow outs at this stage in the playoffs and these 2 teams match up really well against each other. If Nederland loses, you'll be all over this board saying I told you so. I will accept and eat my crow. If Georgetown loses, I bet you will never type in setxsports.com into your url again. Here's to a injury free game, and may the better team win on Saturday.
 11.
To all Nederland fans... I'm a lifelong WO-S fan who is wholeheartedly behind you guys.  I would love to see you bring home the 4A trophy.  Go win the next one, and keep winning until you get there.    After watching "the play", I got chill bumps.  When you consider all the elements and pageantry of this game...playing at Reliant Stadium, against the #1 ranked team, being the underdog, getting slighted as not one of the big-city schools, playing a "vanilla" brand of football, losing the momentum late in the game, going to overtime and winning it with a BIG TIME CLUTCH play like THAT...I was cheering hard for you guys and celebrating when you won the dang thing.  Regardless of school affiliation, the Golden Triangle as a whole should be proud of your team and accomplishments.  There is an electricity in setx and among fans that is shared just like the years when people would attend state championship games for PNG, WO-S, TJ, and West Brook.  Our opposing teams will have plenty of future battles against each other, but it's a good feeling when we can have each other's back and root for one another like this.  That defense of yours (#90 especially is ferocious), the steady play on offense, and Neumann's coaching has been outstanding.  Now go win that 4A title and we'll do our best to bring home the 3A trophy.  Dare I say it...GO NEDERLAND!
+1 sir, go WOS!!

 13. Here is an observation of last week's game by a staff member of tamu.247sports.com, Brian Perroni. He also threw in some player evaluations, enjoy. 8) Nederland won 22-19 in overtime but it shouldn't have gotten that far. They were dominated in yards but they took advantage of turnovers and penalties and the defense held when it needed to. Dawson was down by three with less than a minute left and did a good job driving. They took their final timeout around Nederland's 35 with about 50 seconds left. They moved it down the field to about the 15 or so. On 3rd down the QB scrambled and was tackle in the middle of the field with 12 seconds left. The team ran up to the line and snapped the ball with 3 seconds left and the QB clocked it. Only problem was - it was 4th down. However, one of the WRs was not set so Dawson received a 5-yard penalty. In the NFL and college, 10 seconds would have been run off and the game over but Dawson was actually saved by the WRs mistake. The refs started the clock with 3 seconds and Dawson ran their FG team on the field. They clearly got the snap off 2-3 seconds after time ran out but the refs said it counted. Dawson went first in OT and had one nice run by White but then a holding penalty. They ended up settling for a FG. On Nederland's second play the QB scrambled for close to 10 seconds and found a receiver crossing in the end zone for a 25-yard touchdown. Game over. -Dawson didn't really utilize James White much tonight. He had one long carry in the second half for about 25 yards but they ran zone read a lot and the QB really liked to keep it. The QB wasn't great at making tacklers miss and should've handed it off more. When Dawson was trying to catch up in the 4th quarter, White went deep down the sideline and caught a pass for about 45 yards. It was impressive. I really didn't get to see his overall game, though, because of the zone read and because they were trailing most of the game and were throwing it a lot. -2014 Dawson WR Tony Upchurch is a thick kid. He's probably 6-1/215. He scored Dawson's first touchdown in the 3rd quarter when he just went deep on a go route and easily beat the defender for a 75-yard score. He also did well on screens in the 4th quarter when Dawson wanted to move the chains. He played slot most of the night but the Dawson QB is not a great passer and he never really was able to get it to Upchurch in space. LSU was there watching him tonight. -I am a big fan of 2014 Nederland DL DeShawn Washington. He is 6-3/275 but he plays DE for the Bulldogs. He has a great motor and had one of the most impressive plays I've seen from a big guy when he ran down the RB on a stretch play. He used his hands very well and had several TFLs and a sack. He has the frame to grow into a 3-tech for sure. I think he will have plenty of offers when his senior film gets out. He says he is hearing from four schools - A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Purdue. A&M is his favorite, though, and he's been to two games at Kyle this year. The coaches have told him they are evaluating him for a possible offer. -The other Nederland DE is a senior, Koby Couron. He's about 6-2.5/230 and he is very active as well. He's quick off the edge. He doesn't really have the frame to put on a ton of weight though. He is hearing from Lamar and that's about the level of prospect he is. The Nederland d-line as a whole is probably the best I've seen this year though.
 14. Love how each team we play each week we have some rookies from our opponent come on here, make an account, and talk trash like they own the place. Haters gonna hate! 8)
