Definitely wasn't a bottle rocket. Had to have been a flare based on how slow it was moving. Looked like they arrested the idiot though.. hope he learns a lesson and does some time. great game by others teams though.. Johnson carried PNG tonight and we couldn't stop him. No reason Monte couldn't continue calling O plays,but B. Spell is capable too. Might be a hybrid type or situational type of role. But congrats to coach Barrow. Very well deserved. I can tell you the rest of the district was probably hoping for a non-Larry Neumann guy. I am just glad the board and supt. didn't botch this. Great job! As a side note: I am willing to bet that Neumann had a big, big influence and sway on this decision. There's nothing better than a revered and legendary coach going to bat for you..

In no way do you understand judicial power and judicial review, otherwise you would know that in Santa Fe ISD vs. Doe, the Supreme Court ruled that prayer at high school football games violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment of the CONSTITUTION... Have you read the Establishment Clause or Santa Fe ISD vs. Doe ?? If you understand judicial review/power, have read the First Amendment, and read the decision on said case, then you would have never posted that. But you are missing something in this simple equation. So I recommend doing more research because this is not open to your individual interpretation. It's clear and precise.   EDIT: To summarize, read the Establishment Clause. The Supreme Court ruled that school prayer over PA systems violates this clause. Easy spleezy..

Just saying the facts. Does it hurt my feelings? no.. Not my individual feelings, but I wonder how many of you would react if a muslim student led a prayer? Would there be this much support? Sometimes you really do have to be careful for what you wish for....

Jane Doe (99-62), the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that a Texas public school district's practice of opening high school football games with a prayer is unconstitutional. The Supreme Court first ruled against school-sponsored prayer in 1962 in Engel v. Vitale. Since then, the Court has consistently ruled against school-sponsored worship, while permitting voluntary student-initiated religious activities. The Santa Fe case began in 1995 when the parents of two students sued their Texas school district in federal court following adoption of a policy allowing students to elect a classmate to deliver a prayer over the stadium's public address system prior to football games.   Romans 13:1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."   Sounds a bit contradictory if my assumption is that you believe in the Christian bible. This topic has been brought up several times over the past few years and it is the same narrative for both sides so I am not looking for a yearly repeat on the issue. Nobody will change another's opinion on this so debating viewpoints is not worth it in my opinion. Let each person have their own view of the issue. But facts are facts, and the fact is that VISD is in clear violation of the law whether you, I, or anyone else thinks that it should or should not be in violation. Simply put, they are breaking the law.

I hear a lot of talk of key players in certain positions, but everyone seems to be forgetting one key component to this game.... Coaching. Nederland has arguably one of the best coaching staffs, if not the best, in the area. Neumann will have these guys ready..

That was the best Nederland game I've ever seen and I've seen a bunch.. I still get chills thinking about that game and all of the controversy those boys had to overcome.. Man that was fun.. And thanks RaiderGirl... You will always be an honorary Bulldog fan

He has made me a Red Sox fan for life. I had the pleasure of playing on the same babe ruth team as Clay. We all knew he was something special back then, but never realized how great he could be. When he pitched that no hitter in his second major league start, I was on the edge of my seat the whole game.. Really happy for him..

I do wonder at times if the Vidorians will still be on here Week 5-6 developing carpal tunnel after they realize their cupcake non-district schedule was a feeble attempt to just add a couple of marks to the win column instead of an actual reflection on their teams ability to win games. Sure, keep saying you will beat Nederland and take down district. Same things are said over and over every year. Yet.... Same results.

Gets lonely REAL quick when you're at the top....

Been saying for years that Nederland needs to pave at least some of the lot behind the home side. Stands are in good shape on both sides with plenty of room for all but one game. New restrooms should be a high priority along with the pressbox situation. I would like to see a separate facility built for new locker rooms. I don't care about turf that much but I suppose if they paved the field for parking then Central would need to practice somewhere. None of this will happen however. Too many old people in Nederland who vote down these bonds. Also we need new schools. Ideally, they could consolidate into one middle school and build it where C.O. Wilson currently is. They better get going on something though. These schools and stadium aren't getting better on their own.
