1. I agree.. It will take a miracle to beat Georgetown. Nederland is just garbage. I mean a severely overrated Dawson team took them to OT. Georgetown would've torn Dawson to shreds by halftime. Hey Big Ned players, nobody thinks you can win this game....... ;) .... See you there
 2. How about the 2000 Quarterfinals vs Bay City in the dome. Nederland dominated the stats but fell short 7-0 after being stopped on the goal line on the last play of the game. The play before looked like a touchdown as the Ned receiver dove at the pylon, but the referee said he was out at the one.. Bay city went on to dominate its last two opponents and won state.. Heartbreaking loss for Nederland...
 3.
You can talk about the Nederland defense all you want, but it's hard to say that the Georgetown offense, averaging 42 points a game, won't score a few times.  I think the Georgetown defense isn't receiving enough praise-Only giving up 12.5 points a game, the Nederland offense should be what everyone is talking about.
I have to agree with the last part there. The offense has been questionable at times. Nederland is going to have to play ball control and open up running lanes for Hopkins. If Nederland can't run the ball, it doesn't bode well for the Dogs.
 4. Kimler was clutch in that game. I though all year we needed to go him more, especially with man to man coverage. One play that hasn't gotten a lot of attention was the decision by Neumann and the execution of the fake punt. That was really really big and gutsy. We didn't score on the drive but it gave us a chance to rest our defense more and chew up several minutes of clock..
 5. Congratulations to Brock! Although I too hope he doesn't play in that game...
 6.

If Angleton strummed little ned, and Georgetown rolled Angleton, what makes you clowns think Neverland stands a chance? Georgetown- 42 Neverland-      7
What do you call a strumming? I think we lost by 7 or 8.
It was 8. And the last TD was because we stacked the box with everyone selling out because we were down by 1 and needed to get the ball back. Also had 5 turnovers that game. No excuses, the better team won that night. But that was months ago and if you think you're getting the same team, well then... Nevermind, you're right.. Just keep thinking about our game against Angleton and how GT is going to put 42 up against Nederland....
 7.
I didn't realize (nor have I kept up-to-date) Nederlands has only one loss this season. Those bulldogs are always a tough team to play against. Always a big O-line and speed on defense. Good luck Bulldogs, supporting the Golden Triangle! By the way, the loss was to WOS...Go Stangs!
No it wasnt.. Nederlands loss was to Angleton. They didn't play WO-S.. In a real game any way..
 8.

Pflugerville had a fast paced offense too. The Dogs have seen it before. Obviously GT is of higher caliber than PC, but the tempo won't be something the defense can't handle.
Pflugerville scored (0) against Gtown
I dont know if thats a very good gauge to use.. They only scored 3 against Nederland's defense..
 9.

My understanding is that Rice and Reliant are booked for this weekend which are the only two large venues GT's coach was willing to use. He wants to play on turf from what I hear. Big or small, I am confident that Nederland fans (and surrounding supporters!) will make it a hostile environment! GO DOGS!!!!!
Should have tried for Provost Umphrey.  You could get 20k SRO for the game and a short drive to boot!!
GT would've never agreed to that..
 10. Pflugerville had a fast paced offense too. The Dogs have seen it before. Obviously GT is of higher caliber than PC, but the tempo won't be something the defense can't handle.
 11.
whatever our coaches go with, I trust it to be our best chance to win...that is one of strengths, our coaching staffs repeatedly succesful ability to formulate a game plan...I trust them completely to come up woth the best plan...that being said, I don't look for much to change from what we have done all season with maybe some slight variations...we have faced spread teams before
Well said. I wouldn't want anyone else but Spell to be coaching our defense in this game. He has consistently proven to be excellent at formulating defensive schemes in the playoffs...
 12. They also lead the state in being the most underachieving self-hyped team.... Dribble dribble dribble....
 13.

Most teams appear to play a 3 man line and add extra defensive backs for a dime type defense.  Nederland will do the same.  Expect mal malveaux and Pryor to play safeties.
IMO, Ned needs to dance with the girl that brought them there, namely that 4 man monster defensive front. Georgetown's quarterback cannot have time to set up and will pick you apart if u let him. Three man front is what all the other teams that lost tried. He must go down and he must go down hard!!!
That would be dumb for Nederland to play a 3 man front. It will most likely be a 4-2-5 defense, which we have ran quite a bit this season and I feel that its our best shot at shutting down the GT offense.
 14. definitely bringing my towel and ball bearing noise maker!
 15. I don't know how GT's following is, but I doubt they pack half of their side. I say if you don't get a ticket this week, come anyway like others have said and lets pack both sides if they are still selling tickets for GT side...
 16.
Nederland has had the easiest road to game 3 possible, this game will be over by halftime.
easiest?? The #1 team in the state is the easiest road? Get real.. Point of inquiry, is Nederland home or away?
 17.

Georgetown will win this one smooth! i live in Georgetown and use to live in Lumberton and have watched Nederland play several times this year. Georgetown just has a better overall balanced team. ok, Nedarland played Pflugerville connally and won 17-10.. Good Game.. ha Georgetown SMASHED Pflugerville Connally 34-0... they doubled nederlands score and held them to 0! i went to that game and Georgetown Just hammered them! i know thats just one game but that just shows that georgetown has a better offense and defense.. dnt get me wrong, Nederland aint bad. i just dnt think they have what it takes to compete with Georgetown!! GT-42 Nederland-17
Offense probably. but if you watched that game you would know that PC only TD came on a kick off return. So we didnt let up any offensive TD's either. And who else in the state could hold PD to just 19 (including OT).
Should have only been 13 points. The 3 at the end of regulation shouldn't have counted which by default would negate the 3 in OT. And in my opinion, their second touchdown is questionable. There was that bogus hands to the face call on 4th and a mile which gave them an automatic first down. But even if you grant the the second TD, that's 13 points. Holding a team to 13 when they average 40+ is quite an accomplishment. I think GT is going to be in for a rude awakening offensively..
 18.
Bring any type of noise makers: Bells, air horns, noise makers, can shakers, pennies in a plastic bottle (those you can even make at the game - get a water bottle  - finish it, put a hand ful of pennies or change in it and put top back on and you will have a loud noise maker). Whatever, it will save our voices when we really need it. Please someone have the cheerleaders STOP starting Nederland Bulldogs CHANTS when we are on OFFENSE........I saw a few people trying to "shhshh" them and some fans don't know you are "church mice" when we are on OFFENSE..... and you can CHEER loudly on every DEFENSIVE play..... :o
Glad someone else mentioned this. Save your voices for defense. We need to be quiet when we are on offense, especially on big downs. The louder it is, the harder it is for players to hear Raines and you risk several things including false starts and players executing the wrong plays. As far as noise makers go, a great idea is to get one of those metal water bottles and put a few ball bearings in it. It is really really loud...
 19. Well by that, it looks as if these officials really blew this call and it could have cost Nederland their season... Hope they get talked to about this. That's a major call in a big game. Thankfully, Nederland was able to overcome Dawson and the zebra crew...
 20.
Went to and played for PN-G, I live in Round Rock, just 5 minutes from Georgetown.  But I will be at this next game with my PN-G shirt on, raising heck for the bulldogs!  Glad to see my neighbors up here in my neck of the woods.  My wife and I will be there! That said, I've seen Georgetown play twice this year.  Do not underestimate them.  When they were in 5A, they were nearly winning against Round Rock Stony Point who made it to the semi's 2 years in a row.  They always made us nervous.  They are very well coached and do not get discouraged.  Their wins this season is proof of that.  So don't get cocky, may come back to bite you.  Respect all, but fear no one!  Go Bulldogs!
I dont think too many people are cocky. Nederland is for sure the underdog again, and I embrace it. The Dogs left it all out there on the field against Pearland Dawson with a nothing-to-lose mentality. Going to need that same mentality to walk out with a win against Georgetown. Georgetown is apparently on a whole different level than Nederland or Dawson. We might as well be playing a college team this week. I say.... Not so fast my friend! Nederland will be able to get enough pressure with their front 4 to force the GT QB into some bad decisions. As long as the secondary plays the way they have all season, the Dogs will come away with a win. Nederland needs two turnovers. 21 points will be enough for the Dogs but I'm going to give them a defensive TD on top of that.. Ned - 28 GT - 17 And hey, the Dogs have a pretty good record against Eagles this year ;)
I think Georgetown is a lot better than Dawson
I was waiting for this.. Suddenly Dawson is garbage..
 22. Someone tweeted about how cool it was to have Arian Foster there to see Nederland beat Dawson and he retweeted with a reply.. "Arian Foster @ArianFoster 8h: Congrats, bro. Fun game to witness."
