this week is going to be a much more important game than I once thought it would be... this may decide third place for district....time to talk the smack... (NOT THAT EITHER TEAMS HAVE ANY SMACK TO TALK... WE BOTH GOT CLOBBERED TONIGHT) but proceed none the less..... Nederland changes up personnel bigtime on defense and Mosley is back... Coaches actually call some passing plays to open the field allowing Mosley to run too... Dogs prevail Ned 42 PNG 38

This was mentioned by someone in another thread but I thought it would be an interesting topic. What are the worst calls that youve seen in SETX football...?? My personal one is Ned/WOS in 2001... with the "Backwards Lateral" Call...that was probably the worst call I have ever seen... Also this year with the Facemask call when Ned played La Marque... Mosley clearly had his hands on the jersey and the Ref made that call when he couldnt even see Mosley's hands, all he saw was the Cougar head snap...... horrible... But the WOS call takes the cake....

I have often found myself the past couple of days in a severe state of panic, but its not over for Nederland. Think about how much intensity we played with against La Marque and Waller. If we can just find that intensity back, then we will be just fine. We didnt look like we wanted to win very badly. I was very disappointed by our intensity friday. Someone needs to light some fire, and I think Neumann will do a great job of that. If not, then we WILL be in a world of hurt.

I think Nederland's visitor side is quite large as well.. As far as turf goes, i think turf is great if your team as a whole is fast... Faster teams get even faster on turf. Also it helps with draining the field so it doesnt end up a sloppy mess if it rains..

I wasnt able to make it on the boards after the Ned/Vidor game because I was traveling to College Station for the A&M/Tech game... but I am a man of my word and I wanted to congratulate Vidor on a great win in a tough game... You guys outplayed us friday night and great game...

you arent angry because winning a game is a miracle for Vidor....did i say that... ouch... and i would like to see Vidor go up against La Marque and Waller... I am pretty sure I would be asleep by the second quarter...

Coaching Coaching Coaching.... If Neumann ever retires and Nederland doesnt grab a great coach... the 0-10 years could return.. lets hope not... even teams with great players can have losing seasons if the coaching isnt there...

well as long as Lumberton doesnt join Vidor on the field we should be ok... well even if the game was against both of those teams, we would probably beat both...

one thing i can say about Vidor... when they play Nederland, they play with intensity... they may not have all the skills or coaching in the world, but they always see the Nederland game as a state championship game... some have said that as long as they beat Nederland, its a successful season... p.s. if there are already 8 pages on this topic alone... i cant wait to see MCM week.....

Well Ive been on the Nederland message board for years, but sometimes I feel like boards like these are for trash talking, and I am not real big on trash talking... And arent yall like black and mustard yellow??? And if you think a black and mustard yellow curtain is going to send me home sad... then you are entitled to your opinion... but as a great coach from our area once said.... Ok ok, as tempted as I was, I stayed off these boards as long as I could,... first off, Mosley is like 6'2 200 lbs. (I think, it could be just 6'0) Ok now to this week... Mosley is averaging close to 250 yards a game, if anybody honestly thinks that Vidor can 'stop' a RB thats proven himself against La Marque and Waller... your crazy... I am just stating the facts here...I think its great that Vidor has heart and desire, but you cant say EVERY year that you are going to upset Nederland... itll eventually happen thats just football for you, but it takes away from it if you say that everytime you play us... And for goodness sake... can someone PLEASE tell Vidor that Nederland already has a big rivalry game??? its called Mid County Madness... last time i checked it involved Nederland and PN-G... Vidor doesnt fit into that equation.... sorry :twisted:
