From the looks of the upcoming schedules, it looks like Nederland and Lumberton may have the best chance at the third spot...

Any team with a shot at playoffs was practicing this week...

lol... that makes a little more sense now. I wish we could vote on a proposed budget for higher taxes, but for some reason it never comes up... An improved stadium with turf and a screen would be nice... I hear we have a screen coming for next year, like an actual screen with video replay.. thats a step forward i guess... I am excited about seeing Daytons new field, but I wish they would have a larger visitors side...

Just wondering where Dayton's money comes from?? It seems like they have an awfully large budget for Football.... I dont see why they would have a whole lot more money than the MC schools??

One thing I did like about Vidor's homecoming, and I dont know if yall still do this, but I remember a couple of years ago when we played yall... yall turned all the lights out and the band had a bunch of glowsticks attached to them... that was really cool... i hope yall still do that

It wasnt a classless comment. I am just pointing out fact. You people keep saying that we are living in the past and that we need to focus on this week, but why are you telling that to us when it was your own people who mentioned Nederland in this thread??? you arent making any sense...

hey im out of this topic, but look backwards in the thread, and it was one of you Vidor people that mentioned Nederland... Be intelligent and do some research before you start opening your mouth with demands...

Its totally different when you play a team like Nederland, compared to a team like Vidor... Central had a target on us from day one, from experience, you get a lot more fired up about playing a great team with a winning history than you do a team with a losing history like Vidor...

Prediction on this weeks game Central 45 Vidor 10 Now onto other topics at the discussion plate here... Congratulations to Vidor on the fluke win in week 1 of district... We are now in week 4... I know you guys like to ride on this magic carpet when you beat Nederland, and if you want to do so then fine, but to me it just doesnt make sense...If you ask me, we beat ourselves that game, but at any rate, you guys did win. But like I said before the Ned/Vidor game... IF YOU SAY EVERY YEAR THAT YOU ARE GOING TO UPSET NEDERLAND, THEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN... its just the way football is... i can walk up and down the street everyday and say its about to rain, and one day itll happen.... For what ever reason, we seem to be the bad guys here?? We lost to you, ok big deal, it means the same thing as the loss to Central, we dont have a rivalry with you. I'll be the first to say that I hate PN-G with a passion, its just how I was raised, but from the way you Vidor people talk on here, I would give anything to have a MC team go to the playoffs whether it be us or PNG over you guys. After the upset Vidor did on Nederland, I seriously doubt Vidor is being overlooked.

I havent heard anything on Mosley yet. I wouldnt be surprised if he went to a Division 2 school though. Dravannti Johnson is only a junior but has already received letters from Texas, LSU, and a couple of Florida schools I believe...

well point is this: Since the 3-team playoff rule went into effect, how many times have we seen a team win state that did not win their District... its happened several times... District Championships have lost their meaning... I personally like the 3 team rule because under the old rule, it wasnt fair to teams from districts like 22-4A (20-4A) because the better teams dont always get in. You could have a team from podunk west texas somewhere get into the 4A playoffs and have a team from a very tough district not get in who deserves it more...

PNG would need to win out and have Nederland lose one game.

I think we have played the hardest teams, with the exception being Dayton. I still think we have a good chance at Dayton, we seem to always play them tough in the playoffs. But even if we lose to Dayton, it doesnt hurt our chances for the third spot very much. If we lose to Dayton and win the rest of them.. we will just need Vidor to lose two games (they still have to play PNG, Central, and LCM)... and we will need LCM to lose one more game, and lose to us (I am being hypothetical here, I am not saying LCM is going to be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.... And LCM still has to play NED, Lumb, Dayton, and Vidor... Now if we do happen to win out and beat Dayton, then all we need is for Vidor to lose one more... so in a nutshell, here it is... Ned wins out... Vidor must lose one game Ned loses to Dayton... Vidor must lose two and LCM must lose to us and one more team...

From what the schedule looks like, Nederland has the best shot at 3rd. I also believe the Nederland/LCM game decides it.

You are absolutely correct, no guarantee, but when you are driving down the field and you are inside the red zone... you have a decent chance with the offense we had that year.

I have experience games where the whole game is one sided, and I disagree with you bronco, sometimes they DONT even out in the end. Take the 2000 WO-S game, even though the crew was out of San Antonio, everyone, even Hooks admitted, that they got a lucky break... And I am not just talking about the infamous "Lateral Call." The whole game we were getting bogus penalties and WO-S was tackling our guys on the line and didnt get called for holding... Its rare, but it DOES happen.... For Instance, the facemask call against Mosley when we played La Marque in week zero... there was no question where his hands were... and it ended up costing Nederland 7 points right before halftime....

I am not speaking for everyone. I apologize if it came across that way... But I have talked to several people personally who hate the fact that NED/PNG get all the attention. So like I said I cant speak for everyone, but I have heard some people who feel that way. p.s. I didnt say you cared who won... I wouldnt care either... But like I said before, some people from those schools hate Mid-County because of the attention that this game generates... It was even featured in Texas Monthly a couple of years ago if I remember correctly..

i dont think this is really appropriate.. If someone is saying that, they need their head beat in... I dont really find it funny... It will still remain the biggest game of the year in southeast texas. I know people from Vidor and Lumberton and elsewhere hate that fact, but its just how it is...
