Jasper has 3 to 4 RB that r beast that coach Barbay subs in so to keep a fresh pair of legs in the game not only that you have that nasty O blocking and if the cant cover #1 on the outside we got a gooood shot to win

I like the fact that no one is giving jasper a chance just like they did in 04 when wos was ranked 1 in state and jasper went and got that W in west orange
Not quite the same.I think Jasper was ranked right behind WO-S at the time..both were loaded.I think WO-S will have to pull a Dallas for Jasper to win.

Lord, not a dallas!!!!! No disrespect, TD.

As of now the voting is 2-1 wos over jasper...and the vidor thread has 12 pages..
That thread getting to 15 pages was inevitable. I mean the game is not until Friday the 28th, not this Friday. Making the thread two weeks in advance pretty much assured the thread would reach 15 pages. ::)

To be honest, I really don't think it's we're not giving Jasper a chance I believe it has alot to do with the way the WOS defense is playing. If you haven't seen them play you're in for a treat. Every week I look at the opposing team and say to myself, "Man...we are under-sized."and then the defense amazes me every week. They are that special.

I do not know anything about these teams.  Question, how do the three 4a teams that WO-S defeated compare to the two 4a teams that Jasper dominated in their scrimmages?  The two 4a teams might not have been world beaters.  Just do not know.  But for a fact, Jasper did dominate them in their scrimmages.  As I understand it, Marshall was in the 4a playoffs last year; so there possibly is at least some ability there.  Nacogdoches, who knows about them?  But for a fact, Jasper outscored them 14-0 in one live quarter.  So were the WOS 4a teams all that superior to the 4a exposure that Jasper has had?  Point is, Jasper has out-played everyone they have been on the field with this year, not just the 3a teams.  Again, just looking forward to Jasper once again being on the same field with WO-S!

I understand the point that you're trying to make. But you can't read too much into a scrimmage. However, with that being said, I doubt very seriously if Jasper would dominate Nederland and Vidor. Those are the teams WOS scrimmaged.

So far, Marshall is 0-3 this season and have been outscored 133-28 in those 3 games.  Nacogdoches is 0-2 this year having been outscored 71-21.

But none of that is of any import, Friday night's game is the toughest regular season test that both teams have faced so far.

WO-S has beaten 3 teams that haven't done so well this year either.  This is the first true test for either team.  I think Central played WO-S closer than that game should have been.

I agree scrimmages mean very little.

A 17 point margin?  Man, you are delusional!  Given that any team with a "Barbay" coach has a chance of winning, you are playing West Orange - Stark.

I believe Coach Barbay is doing wonders in Jasper and is proving to be a fantastic coach that will turn the Jasper program around for the better. With that being said I am very much impressed with Walker as the QB. The Jasper offense will have their hands full with a good WOS defense. I believe this will be a fantastic game that WOS will pull out. 28-20 in favor of WOS

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
