I really dislike the opt-up option.

I agree.

It should only be used in drastic travel issues.

Having to go 60 miles or less for district games is not that drastic.

Im really surprised they didn't add something in the rules to include something of that nature after the bc/hj+ deal

BH was at 2300 or something close to that... Extremely likely they are going to 6A

No doubt BH will be 6A. It was just a matter of "when".  MB is a thriving, growing community and BH is considered to be a destination school with top notch academics. I don't see MB population ever being stagnate, or even declining like some others are experiencing.

Agreed! I think the hope was that it would be next realignment.

All my spectulation are towns and communities east of the Trinity so I expect BH to be 6A this round of dominoe shuffling

My guess for the top of 4A is somewhere around 1275...not sure about 3A

I’m thinking about 525 for 3A. It would make sense with a lot of schools down kids this time around.

Be interesting to see how the districts shake out if all 3 stay where they belong and especially if OF bumps up.

If the cutoff number is 520ish, that also means Tarkington stays 4A.

You could possibly have this many 4A DII teams locally:

Bridge City

Hardin-Jefferson

Liberty

Hamshire-Fannett

Jasper

Orangefield

Silsbee

Shepherd

Tarkington

WO-S

I would think UIL would then ship Tarkington, Shepherd and possibly Jasper to another district.

I suspect Shepherd and Tarkington would likely go to the Bellville district or a North district could form again. Keeping in mind that Hitchcock will be moving up and into the district with Lamarque and company. There are a lot of moving parts.

I was just going to mention this myself especially Shepherd.  I can easily see them going to the same district as Bellville.  Also if we have 10 locally teams in 4A-D2 just split them up into 5 teams or or have the easternmost SETX teams in one district and then have the west teams in another district (Shepherd, Tarkington, Liberty,) and add Hitchcock (assuming if they move up) La Marque and another team they can pull from the Greater Houston area.

If it does split up to two 5 team districts then this is what I would like to see:

East will consist of (West Orange-Stark, Orangefield, Bridge City, Hamshire-Fannett, Silsbee)

West will consist of (Shepherd, Liberty, Tarkington, Hardin-Jefferson, Jasper)
