Coach Bashing

Keep in mind that a result of one of those "pee-wee" games is where the concern is generated.  It's easy folks.

Gather your thoughts....

Keep them based in facts....

Control your emotions....

There isn't a doubt in my mind.  I'm saying that those who bash high school coaches and even beyond are likely peewee coaches that "know more" than the varsity/college/pro coaches that actually get paid to do so.

To clarify.. I'm not saying that coaches are mistake free.  There are definitely coaches that are better or worse than others.  I'm implying that there's often a lot more that goes into winning games than simply strategy/preparation.  One being talent.  And parents/fans often refuse to believe that their little babies just aren't any good.  So coaches catch the blame.

People need to realize that Bill Belichick is 71-80 withOUT Tom Brady.  So.. is he a worse coach?  Or.. did he have one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever take a snap?  It wasn't very long ago that he was considered the best football coach to have ever lived.  And I have no doubt that he knows more than I ever will.  But.. know what I mean?  Kind of like Phil Jackson.  Who coincidentally has zero championships without MJ or Kobe/Shaq.

No I agree 100%. Sean Payton got suspended from the nfl  and was a Youth football Offensive Coordinator For his son’s team and got beat in the Super Bowl. That team was running the single wing offense. He had to call Bill Parcells and get him involved to defend it and they still lost the game. Theres no doubt that athletes and gimmick offenses at lower level plays a part of football. I was just saying Youth football coaches get bashed too lol Heck one got murdered this year in front of his kid during a game in Dallas.

These are very good points...to complain about coaching when things aren't going your team's way is frankly lazy and just low hanging fruit IMO....it's just too easy to blame coaches for a bad season...coaching, high school especially since they have no control over their talent pool, should be judged over time and what they are able to do with the level of talent they are given...it has always amazed me that a coaches intelligence is somehow directly corelated to the level of talent they have.

The Belichek and Payton examples are good ones...has Belichek suddenly gone from "the greatest coach ever" to a blithering idiot since losing Brady?  I doubt that...likely truth is that he wasn't as great as he was made out to be before and he isn't near as bad as he is made to be now...bottom line is that he has a long-standing track record of success...is Sean Payton a "bad coach" because he couldn't win a simple pee wee super bowl as an NFL coach, or did maybe, just maybe, the other team have better players?  I'm just gonna go out on a limb and guess that Sean was probably a better coach than whoever was on the other sideline, it just did not translate into a "W"...the same happens every week and every year in high school ball

Some of your points are valid,as far as WOS goes and where this pinned thread likely stemmed from…WOS has a new coach that’s been in this system for 6 -7 years and has a ring or two,he inherited 8 back on each side of the ball,I assure you that’s pretty good…these kids can play the game,then change everything they have been taught their entire life? Why?Theres been some bad decisions made and it shows…maybe it is low hanging fruit,but it’s rotten fruit!

Tell me which statement is true:

1. WOS players aren’t smart enough to learn a new system 

2. A new coach should never implement his own system, just follow what they had before

3. Change is bad and even though it may produce good results down the road, we should never try anything new

4. Coaches (especially new head coaches) are human and subject to error, but we should bash them no matter what because they aren’t allowed any grace period to prove themselves  

5. Football is more important than education, that’s why we slam the coaches so much but allow sub-standard academic results in our schools
