I'll say this about 4A D2 its deeper than its been in recent years...there's several really good teams not ranked at the moment

UIL doesnt control how individual ISD's handle their business..there are many ISD's which are open enrollment...if the kids get there early enough they are eligible after 365 days regardless of what the PAPF says...so if a 9th grader who was never gonna play varsity moves in and isn't eligible as a freshman he'll be eligible as a sophomore

man I thought Vidor was a legit contender for the district and in the region....this has to be one of the bigger disappointments to start the season in all of 4A

Just got back to my hotel, great atmosphere and great game...its still very early but that was IMO two really good teams going at it...WOS people have high standards, I get it and they aren't used to LCM going toe to toe very often, but Peevey has that thing rolling....the game was close because LCM is pretty dang good...kudos to both teams, that was fun

I kinda think SOC rolls....Lancaster's OL is not great and thats trouble against that SOC defensive line

Longview improved a ton towards the end of last year, they brought back a ton, they have a loaded junior class coming up from a JV that went 10-0 with several soph's playing on varsity a year...they looked really strong last week

Denison honored their PVIL HS with decals 2 or 3 years ago...and Midland Legacy honored Midland Carver last year in a game...those are the ones I recall off the top of my head

The printer we normally used didnt have paper due to supply chain issues, so we had to pivot to a different printer with about two weeks notice...they were only able to print about 10,000 magazines (we typically print 150k)......so we prioritized subscribers to get their magazines first....the normal print run ended last week and magazines were picked up by distributors over the weekend....so now its just a matter of those middle men getting the magazines to retail and then retail putting them out..because our printer is in Carrollton I imagine DFW stores probably will have them in more supply early on while outlying areas will get them a little later depending on delivery schedules etc.....

The magazine has been spotted at several retail locations across the state today, We recommend calling ahead before going to the stores as stores will put them out at different times based on their staff availability etc

I dont believe the registrar was solely responsible and I dont believe the UIL feels that way either

Regardless that registrar was fired by Alto ISD

Lufkin is still down....heard they are loaded at the lower levels but we are talking freshman and junior high so it might be another year or two of struggles....I know seeing them in 7on7 they didnt look like Lufkin usually looks

I think this had a LOT to do with it reading between the lines

9-4A D2 this year is pretty damn good..with WOS, SIlsbee and Jasper all back together and if this Hamshire-Fannett team is your 4th place team...well you are cooking with Crisco

I think the UIL kinda liked 3, but it made for uneven brackets with D1 finishing a week earlier......

Chapel Hill was 4th in their district....we are never going back to two or even three playoff teams..there's zero chances schools or coaches would support reducing their chances of making the playoffs

More teams in the playoffs does mean more money generated for the UIL becasue a portion of the playoff gate does go to the UIL......but lets also remember football money helps fund pretty much every other championship activity that the UIL puts on that doesnt make money..ie academic competitons, one-act play, smaller sports etc
