Hachie and Mansfield are both way down from where they were a year ago....I was at Longview-McKinney and if you really look at that game Longview kinda controlled the game they just gift wrapped two touchdowns for McKinney and even then McKinney needed a last minute FG to win

Longview IMO would finish 3rd in 11-6A and 4th in 21-6A this year

Class 6A Crowley is currently 4-0 in homecoming games as well this year...they were 3 straight homecoming opponents Sept 7, Sept 15 and Sept 22...they won their own homecoming last week

Crosby will certainly need to make marked improvement in 2024 or I think the calls for a change will be significant

Let's not act like Willis hasn't been a successful head coach...we are talking about a guy who had a career record of 113-62 going into the year...he's been a head coach of a state champion and an state runner-up...he's got a strong track record... Timing has to be considered as well...Willis was hired May 18..you start getting into May and the candidate pool is going to be quite limited... I dont think any head coach hired could be fairly judged on what happens this year at Crosby because of the late hire, coaching staff almost 100% turned over and a team that already was a little down talent wise...The absolute worst thing Crosby can do now is make another coaching change at the end of the season IMO

Coach Willis isn't dumb he's not going to get on an interview platform and talk about the negatives of a job he was just hired at...if he did that, he'd be an idiot. He knew what he was getting into and he knew he was walking into a very difficult situation, will he be successful? Time will tell, I cant speak for the superintendent and all the other issues but I feel like all things considered she hired a very good coach

Exactly, Allen was a 3rd place team and first round playoff loser last year and they are probably worse this year since they lost several key guys to transfers....

Carthage looked human against a Region III Division I finalist on the road..with a sophomore QB in his first start and with one of their key RB's going down with what's likely a season ending injury...the fact Carthage won in spite of that is kinda impressive if you are a glass half full fan

Tarkington should be better absolutely...but they've also got a lot of ground to make up considering aside from the 8-point win over Hardin they lost every other district game by 3 TDs....Kirbyville brings back a lot....East Chambers brings back a lot as well...Buna doesn't bring back as much but they beat Tarkington 53-0... I gave Hardin the edge because I think Taylor is an excellent coach and will make up the difference since Hardin also brings back a ton
