1. Paris improved the schedule quite a bit from last year....and remember last year they gave Madison all they wanted in the regional semis...this Lincoln team isn't as good as Madison and Paris is probably a little better
2. Lincoln and Paris played once in Dallas and Lincoln won by 10...the game being in Commerce will mean its basically a home game for Paris...it'll be closer than many think
3. The DEC has met about the "allegations" and Beaumont Ozen was cleared of any and all wrong doing in this matter.  As far as Ozen is concerned this is now a non-issue.
4. Port Neches-Groves, who went 3-1 last week at the Lufkin SQT (lost in the semi-finals to Whitehouse) will be playing in the Cy Falls SQT.  PNG is in Pool B with Cy Creek, Cy Fair and Willis.  Cy Fair can't advance due to having already qualified. Crosby who went 2-1 last week at the Lufkin SQT (only loss was to Whitehouse in pool play) will be in the Tyler SQT.  Crosby is in Pool B with Sulphur Springs, Longview and Tyler John Tyler's JV. Beaumont Ozen who went 0-3 last week at the Lufkin SQT will also be at the Tyler SQT.  They are in Pool A with Tyler John Tyler, Magnolia West and Whitehouse's JV.
5. along with Coppell's Solomon Thomas and Hebron's Jamal Adams [Hidden Content]
6. West Rusk played Arp in Longview two years ago....Celina used to play Thanksgiving every year
They charge a rental fee and get the concessions. Gate is distributed to UIL and the two teams participating.
Host school gets parking also...I think the gate got 15% to UIL...officials cut then the teams split whats left
Who still charges for parking? Pasadena used to, but I have not been there in a while.
Pretty much every stadium in DFW charges for parking in the playoffs, I know Tyler charges, Midland and Odessa charge, Waco charges, Heroes in San Antonio charges also honestly its been a long time since I've been to a playoff game at a venue that didn't charge for parking its a good way for the host school to make a little extra revenue

9. Guy from Louisiana on rivals said Jasper is now playing New Orleans Cohen HS in Week 4, in Jasper... Not sure if its legit because he said Jasper dropped La Grange, LA...when I was told La Grange dropped Jasper
10. Just one clarification, the district previews were all done by local writers and the state rankings reflect those previews.  David Coleman who works for the Port Arthur newspaper wrote the 20-4A preview.
11. First year the cover had 2 San Antonio kids and a West Texas kid Last year we had an Austin kid and a DFW kid (woulda had a Houston kid if he returned our calls; and the DFW kid was a no brainer) This year was weird because we went with a QB theme and well frankly the top recruited QBs in the state are all in DFW.  So I'm not sure citing the cover for this year is quite fair when it comes to the magazine being a "DFW" magazine. I think we've gotten better each year so hopefully the third edition is the best, but I'm interested in some legit feedback regarding magazine content.
12. What made it a DFW magazine? I know we've tried really hard to give equal coverage, so if there's something missing I'd love to pass it along..
13. This is confirmed with the Stephenville coaches as I'm the one who broke it lol
14. The Trinity/DeSoto games vs. the Oklahoma schools is part of a classic in Week 1. Ozen playing Cedar Hill is NOT a done deal, there are rumblings there could be a change to the matchups
15. Kincade is a nice place...but its not Cowboys...Bmt Enterprise got it wrong..
16. That article is not correct...I spoke with Bruce Hardy himself..Sept 14-15 schedule at Cowboys is this... Lone Star Football Festival Schedule Friday, September 14, 2012 TIME - VISITOR vs. HOME Noon - Incarnate Word vs ENMU 4:00 - Texas A&M - Commerce vs Midwestern State 8:00 - Southlake Carroll vs. Temple Saturday, September 15, 2012 TIME -- VISITOR vs. HOME Noon - Valdosta State vs Angelo State 4:00 - Tarleton State vs Abilene Christian 8:00 - Texas A&M - Kingsville vs West Texas A&M
17. They are not playing in Cowboys...some folks jumped the gun...hearing the game will either be at Kincade Stadium or DeSoto
18. Indeed rare, but I think with the change in philosophy there this year appearances could be more frequent
19.
DeSoto won't get past the 2nd/3rd round no matter how much talent they have. Memorial won't make it out of region III no matter how much talent they have. They could have Singleton as QB, Jamaal Charles at RB and vintage X-Box Kenny at receiver and still lose in region
Umm....DeSoto went to the 4th round last year....
20. So I'm guessing at least so far the hire looks OK...Jones has Giddings playing very very well
21. 7pm is better for media, but for kids and fans 7:30 is better...I actually think Sept. games should start at 8pm to try and beat the heat...
22.
Also, call me silly, but if Sam Houston needed a game and La Marque needed a game, wouldn't it have been easier for Jackson and Chinea just to say, "let's play" rather than splitting up an already scheduled game to get an opponent for Week 2?
Chinea coaches at Sterling so in order for that to work Sterling had to pull out of the game with Ozen and give it to Sam Houston.  So Ozen is playing Sam Houston at Barnett
