I predict a running clock in the second half

I think this yr the UIL removed the academic broadcast exception for football playoffs and they'll have to go through the normal approval process like other outlets

I dont know what happened most of the game but I watched the last play and the QB just had a brain fart...poor kid was probably yelling kill or spike and his brain just defaulted to taking a knee....felt really bad for him

If you file a lawsuit right now, you'd be the first person to win vs the UIL under the current format. The best you could hope for is an injunction/restraining order to stall out the process which could take multiple years to play out through appeals etc. What typically happens as what happened w/Anthony Black at Duncanville is they got a restraining order on the UIL ruling, by the time the courts heard the case Black had graduated so it got thrown by the courts as it was moot and dismissed the restraining order [Hidden Content] Then the UIL went back and retoractively punished Duncanville for playing Black during that time and banned them from the playoffs for the next year and suspended the coach for a year....so most schools know this now and would simply choose not to play the kid until a court made a final ruling...best hope would also be federal court, odds aren't good beating the UIL in a state court...just calling it like it is there Even if you had a perfect storm of a freshman kid being ruled ineligible and he had enough HS years left to fight it...he'd be eligible after 365 days....would his/her parents want to continue spending the money and fighting the UIL when the kid is now eligible? It's not like you get that year back, so would the juice (or money) be worth the squeeze

Liberty Hill was 9-3 last yr..finished 2nd in their district and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs...they were outta the top ten most of the second half of 2024....they also got beat last week 45-10

I think thats pretty common, coaches want to have refs that fit their style..some guys like refs who let them play...others like refs who call things tighter..a good Coach scouts the officials too

This hits home....the random fan just doesnt realize all that goes into doing some of those remote shows etc...a lot of moving parts, you need a certain level of expertise and you need people willing to do grunt work to make it come together...podcasts are a way simplier medium w/less moving parts

My sources indicate he has not transferred and he's indicated to folks locally that he's simply quitting football.... How accurate that is, is anyone's guess...but I agree if he transfers to a UIL school there's almost no chance he's eligible for his junior season

I'd be shocked if Sabine Pass had one kid that could make PAM'S 2 deep

I think the UIL is aware and concerned about transfers...but putting a policy in that the schools, the state and the courts will agree to is a delicate dance...

It's gotten me pretty far...even won me a couple of awards

DCTF praises them for their on field accomplishments, IMO it is a huge accomplishment.. I'd say if you have evidence of them recruiting submit it to the UIL by all means

Tepper isn't high on Lufkin...and Lufkin still has a lot to prove....so I get it...

Sabine Pass could play outlaw six-man....Fort Hancock does that out in West Texas....not a great option because no playoffs though
