  1. The enrollment disparity between the largest schools and smallest schools in the classification...new schools aren't built at 4A/3A they open as 5A/6A so as more new schools get added in it trickles down to 4A and widens that gap.....UIL wants to get as close to a 2:1 ratio as possible and right now the cut line in 4A is 1229 and the smallest is 515...thats a large gap.....we are adding ten new 5A/6A schools in 2022.....that gap in 4A is going to get even larger because more small 5A's are going to drop because there's only so many spots in 5A/6A and they already have a lot of nine and ten team districts
  2. splitting 6A doesn't address this issues in 4A and to a lesser extent 3A...
  3. If you are really into the in's and out's of realignment you can see this coming with all the growth....that trickle down into 4A is getting larger and larger every year
  4. I know several from Allen are now at Lovejoy and have clean PAPFs including a multiple starters...most notable is Payton Pierce who started for Allen as a freshman
  5. I actually think Argyle falls back to the pack some...definitely won't be as explosive as they've been in recent years...still might win it but I dont anticipate them dominating like last year
  6. Lovejoy lost a lot but they also gained a lot in the way of newcomers who have moved in from just down the road....keep that in mind...and also Chris Ross gets the benefit of the doubt.... 5A-Division II outside of 3-4 teams is a real crap shoot.....I think the difference between 5 and 20 is minimal at best....I think we are a little too bullish on Liberty Hill as well..but R4 gives them a shot to get it rolling...thats also why Rouse is rated so highly
  7. The schools absolutely should find a way to monetize it...they should 100% charge for the streams
  8. yeah I jumped the gun didnt realize Splendora split lol
  9. and FREE thanks to the Texas Army National Guard!! [Hidden Content]
  10. If you are a subscriber you should have your magazine in the mail around June 20...if you are someone who wants to buy it in the store my guess is around July 4
  11. Turf makes waayyy too much sense at the larger school levels, especially when you factor in the beating the field takes in the spring semester w/soccer etc...its a tougher sell at the small school level, but I think if you can buy quality turf and have it last eight years or so it often pays itself back w/the reduced maintence costs and practice time thats not missed
  12. Tune in at noon facebook.com/davecampbells
  13. Surratt is well taken care of in Carthage...sometimes base salary isn't the only form a compensation a person can get...
  14. 175 wouldnt touch what Surratt makes at Carthage haha
  15. If the name I'm hearing is the guy getting it...heads will definitely be turned hearing we may hear something tomorrow
  16. With the 2021 DCTF Magazing Cover Reveal at Noon Friday on Texas Football Today...the staff decided to reveal their favorite past DCTF covers....which one was yours?? [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  17. In this case we are talking about an AD who had been there six years and had not won more than three games in a single season, so in those cases where you have a AD who has been at a place 5+ years and had not won its going to be much more common for the supt to want to make a change.....the only thing that really makes this difficult IMO is the timing...
  18. In a small ISD the AD/HFC reports directly to the supt....why wouldn't a new supt want to bring in their own people..athletics is a big deal in small towns...they are going to want to ride w/someone they hired in most cases....
  19. Here's a fun fact the eight quarterfinalists in the 2019 Division I 7on7 State Tournament went a combined 91-13 in real football that fall
  20. It's quite common for administration to bring in their own people at any school.....when you consider the previous HC was there six seasons and hadn't had success it can't be that big a surprise to anyone that the new regime wants to give it a go with people they hire....its just the nature of the business
  21. What will hinder the search and limit the pool is going to be the timing...even if you land a really good head coach, trying to build a staff in June will be incredibly challenging
  22. I'd say 95% of the ISD's dont use search firms because they decide to conduct the search themselves..if the firm gets a good reputation they'll pick up more work..I know of at least 4 ISD's (not counting Warren) that have utilized Solid Oak already this year....my guess is if they keep the folks they have as consultants and have successful hires they'll absolutely pick up more work
