  1. It's the off-season there's not much else to discuss football wise...
  2. I think yesterday's incident just underscores one of many issues with the Alamodome when it comes to state football..its not a super well-taken care of facility, there's a lot of work that needs to be done....San Antonio will put the work into the facility in time for the 2025 Final Four...much like in 2018, but then they won't do anything after that and 4-5 yrs post Final Four you have a facility that has degraded...rinse and repeat w/San Antonio lol Maybe now that they have an XFL team the city will do a better job maintaining the 'Dome between big events
  3. Honestly what other facility could guarantee the UIL back-to-back weekend availability and is large enough to host the event??
  4. It would put I think the venue would hold up.....this is just one example of the Alamodome just not being up to par as a facility right now
  5. CPS has not completed the investigation. I know of one athlete who had broken his hand during the season and was not cleared for upper body workouts was apparently made to do pushups as well....so not good there
  6. Of local note to Southeast Texas there are now two Division II qualifiers locally with Hamshire-Fannett and Hardin-Jefferson In Divison III there's a qualifier at West Hardin and not too far away is Crockett as well
  7. [Hidden Content]
  8. If Liberty Hill throws it...something typically went terribly wrong...
  9. The TSWA All-State team takes into account regular season and playoffs...typically the teams are loaded with players whose teams make deep playoff runs...the old AP All-State team which isnt done any longer was regular season only
  10. If you can please do me a solid watching the video from the link below lol thanks [Hidden Content]
  11. Hard to know how much SOC would travel to Houston...only time they've really traveled was the 2021 state semifinals when they went 3.5 hours to Abilene on a Friday night....Shotwell has a large home side that seats about 7500 and SOC did fill that up
  12. Some local teams stay home, others decide to get a hotel...just kind of depends...
  13. This will become even more of a debate if NRG or Alamodome get their locker room situations in order....neither has 4 full locker rooms right now.....Alamodome would have 4 if they'd let people in UTSA's locker room but thats off limits
  14. I will say I know South Oak Cliff did stay in hotels on Thursday night (they got hotels last year too)...some of the local teams will go get a hotel the night before just so the coaches can monitor the kids and what they eat etc
  15. locker rooms are an issue in San Antonio too
  16. If enough people come forward it could be enough to bring it to a vote
  17. The UIL is located in Austin. Maybe folks should pressure their superintendent to propose a rotation to the legislative council to get the ball rolling
  18. Thats definitely not true because they did open the 1st level end zone Saturday and have opened it in the past
  19. Not sure why that is...we wonder that most years regarding the end zone seating... The 6A D1 crowd IMO was bigger than the PNG-SOC game
  20. I think if you want to make it an all-day thing you basically try to do the same thing. Having kids makes things 1) harder 2) more expensive no matter what event it is. Most younger children dont have the attention span to sit at a stadium for 12 hours watching football either, a lot of the families w/kids that I know tend to only go to one game per day and they simply dont eat at the stadium...if you do stay for the day the best way to be budget conscious is do the exact same thing......pro-tip the Philly Cheesesteak is massive...big enough to split into two for kiddos
  21. They usually will allow to bring an empty water bottle in and so what most of my friends who go as fans (and are budget conscious) do is they eat a big breakfast before going,,bring their water bottles in and fill those up...and maybe buy one meal inside the stadium....
  22. 20$ per ticket isnt bad if you factor in the 3 game aspect of things. UIL's never going back to the way it was IMO and I dont think the schools want to go back...they make good money off the state games as well...
