10/31/21
For Ben, this weekend has been a time of rest and stabilization in preparation for a big surgery tomorrow.
As y'all know, Ben's body remains in a state of instability which is preventing his liver & kidneys from recovering. This instability is coming from his legs which were severely injured from lack of blood flow from cardiogenic shock when Ben's illness started on 9/29/21. Now, 32 days later, his legs have not been able to recover despite numerous debridements & surgeries. And, as his legs
worsen, they release toxins into his body that keep his blood pressure unstable & keep his liver and kidneys very sick. This is very much a life or death situation. The only solution in stopping this viscous cycle is amputation. Ben will have both legs amputated above the knee tomorrow. Ben is aware of the situation and has shown strength beyond his age. We have told him he has an army of Drs and nurses fighting for him and a second army of friends and family fighting for him and lastly, God's army surrounding him. His fight continues to amaze us!Thank you for your continued love & prayers. Ben needs them now more than ever!”

I beg of each of you that reads this to say a simple prayer for Ben’s health and recovery. I wish you could know what a great and decent kid this young man is. Thank you.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that Todd passed away this afternoon at 4:20pm at the Memorial Herman Hospital Houston after a battle with Covid-19.  As most of you know, Todd joined the SETx sports family in 2005 as WOSgrad. Todd's work behind the scenes putting together scores, rankings, schedules and most of the online administrator tasks for the site are one of the reasons the site is successful today. Together we have spent many hours working, prepping, laughing, and sometimes cussing and discussing. Todd was a kind, soft spoken man with a passion for all things high school sports. My heart is broken at this news and very difficult for me to talk. I had a feeling that the worst would happen and it did. Words cannot express my sadness at losing my dear friend. The coming days are going to be long and hard, and it just won't be the same without him. My wife has been in contact with his sister's family and will keep us posted on pending funeral arrangements. He leaves behind his wife Rebecca and his beloved Bassett Hound, Sadie. Todd was a heart transplant recipient and has battled to stay healthy since receiving his heart. The Broussard family will need our support and prayers in the coming days. Please continue to stay safe during this pandemic, and if you can't do it for yourself, then do it in honor of Todd. Feel free to post a kind word, thought, story, or memorial so that we can share with Rebecca and family.

Just a scrimmage.  Way too early.  Teams are still plugging holes.  6a is a is a gauntlet and Westbrook needs more than a PNG or Memorial to match up against the Show and Atascasita.  Westbrook is not dominating.  Teams have not opened up the play book. It’s all vanilla until district. 

PNG will fine come district.

I carry concealed under LEOSA when I am off duty.  However, there are places I still cannot carry when signs are posted. I am not above the Law and even though I may have good intentions I still must obey and take heed to posted and or verbal rules of a business or private property.  If I come over to your house as private citizen and you just so happen to see my concealed weapon and you ask me to leave. I must obey and leave.

 Over 500,000 people young and old have lost the lives to COVID and there are new variants that are out. Just put the mask on. I have Cancer and many other health issues. I truly appreciate and thank all who do wear the mask.

Prayers and thoughts to his family and friends on this message board.  I really enjoyed agreeing to disagree with him. He really made this message board special.

Take your hands off of it and give to God. Look at how long Israel had to suffer in the Bible. Let go and let God!!
