Black men make up six percent of the population but commit 44% of the murders here... but THEIR lives are the ones in danger? Give me a break.

Any which way you look at the actual statistics proves that the movement behind BLM is a lie.

    It’s bizzaro world.

If elections were held today would the President win?  Look at all the US citizens all over the US marching in the streets in mass for the past 12 days. To me that says we are failing and that it’s time to listen. If there’s smoke there’s fire. This will not go away and if we don’t address it we will loose.
I personally do not want a Democrat in the White House and for me it is because of my biblical beliefs.  President Obama made it legal for men and women to marry same sex which is a abomination. He even  (political stunt) displayed  the White House in 🌈.  Kids are confused and are being told they are born that way(sic). A 3 yr old only knows what he is taught. Hatred and racism is indoctrinated. All lives matter. 👮‍♀️ lives matter. We can have 4 more years if  we take heed to the call. A lot can happen between here and November.

    I. apologies. I was confused when you said your hometown.

PAT? Is that a woman?  Is she mean?

I visited Groves, TX.  I was there doing the big flood. I was treated real nice and I remember staying at  a shelter that was near a post office. Even though I was from another State they gave me rest. I saw a lot of people showing compassion. I felt a connection since that day. Learned a lot about high school football. I’m sorry, but you guys high school football is like a college game day.  I saw a clip of MId County Madness, Dogs vs Indians on YouTube. I only see that type of crowd and excitement when I go to College football games or State Championship,  I really enjoy the people.

I have never met Stevenash, but we bump heads a lot. He’s a good person and as a side note he gave me sound advice on my TSP retirement nest egg. The guy is real smart and knows numbers. I never met  Mr. Hagar, but I can tell you he loves his grandkids and he’s active in going to all of his kids games. I enjoy the young man Lumbertonraider because he speaks from the heart. Bad dog is good at heart. Smash mouth won’t back down right or wrong. They all bring something to the table. The fun part about this message board is that we can all agree to disagree. If your skin is tough you will hang around. This political forum is also mostly Republican. My point we are (I) May never meet any of you in person but it’s been real.

That’s where you and I are different. I will never be quiet just to avoid ruffling somebody’s feathers while they’re spreading falsehoods.

The news story for the last three years in the NFL has been concussions and kneeling.
We’ve moved backwards in AMERICA to the point where Drew Brees had to apologize for saying “I don’t agree with kneeling during the anthem.”  What?

That’s the reason that things have deteriorated here in the US. We’ve babied, coddled, and entertained stupidity and now we’re here.

Do you feel like the only way to fix the “inherently racist legal system in America” is to defund police departments? Then you’d better start speaking up when people say that you’re a racist. People absolutely have a right to say “the legal system is racist.” And you, as an officer, have a responsibility to say “no, CRIMINALS commit more crimes... it doesn’t matter which color they are.”

Why is it okay to protest and riot about the statistical anomaly that it “unarmed black men killed by cops” but racist to to point absolute genocide being committed on blacks by blacks? Genocide isn’t the right word, but there isn’t a word to describe a race killing their own in mass numbers.

That dude is a clown. He still can’t admit that there’s a problem in PAT (my hometown) except the old standby, racism.

Some people can watch a video where a very alive person can be on the ground with a knee to his neck for seven minutes. In that same video everybody around except The THUGs in blue can see that life is slipping away from Mr. Floyd . Mr Floyd is pleading begging for his life then goes motionless knee still till his neck . It’s some that can watch that and still refuse to believe the truth. Because The truth is just to uncomfortable. It’s law enforcement on here that can call it what it is . It’s police officers police chiefs taking a knee marching with protesters. That can call it what it is. But it’s people on this board looking for anything and I mean anything to not have to deal with the truth.  Same with last case. And more evidence coming out that case prove setx logic wrong again. Another black man slain by racists. Both cases only moving forward because of video and public outcry. It’s the same America

10 officers have lost there jobs and are facing charges. Not because of the color of there skin but because of the bad choices they made. 6 African Americans,  1 Asian American and 3 Caucasian Americans.

Yes, racism is alive and well in America. I know you will agree that there are more good officers than bad.You don’t have to look far to find one. You all are blessed to have tvc184  on this forum. No one can call a football game better than he can. I live 6 states away and I get all fired up for Mid County  Madness. Tvc186 typing play by play is like being at the game. TEXAS is the football capital.  Go Clemson!!!

Dude... give up. You can’t argue logic with the willfully ignorant.  The new cause is Breonna Taylor from Louisville. She was murdered by police in her home. They shot her 8 times.  Nobody can understand why the cops haven’t been arrested yet.

Oh. Small detail.  The police were serving a search warrant and Breonna’s boyfriend freaking shot a cop first. She got caught up in the crossfire. Racist pigs, though. No justice no no peace. Hands up don’t shoot.

You’ve  been straddling the fence a lot lately. I don’t know anything about your hometown but  the comment about we really like what y’all have done with the place gives  me the impression you  may have hidden racism in your heart.
I agree with bad dog I am proud and I won’t apologize for what I am. I will never say things that will divide us because underneath  all this shoe leather we all bleed red.

Sure it could.  Just like running him down or anything else.  The point is, anything could have killed him.  He wasn't in good shape.   Likes it's been stated, this cop, unless it was a hit job, didn't wake up that morning and say, you know what, I'm gonna kill a black today.  Contrary to what some that are mentally ill are trying say.   It's my understanding that the cop used methods approved worldwide to restrain. Control the head and the body follows.  True or not true?

    Not true.

Third.... was he wearing a blue shirt?

The actual first question should be what was the cause of death?

But to answer your questions... Too much force and didn’t do everything to preserve life. That’s not second degree murder.

I appreciate your passion and honesty. I think he will plea to 3rd degree. The body camera will help or hurt his chances.

Had you done the same thing as a civilian. would you be charged for second degree murder or first degree murder?

Sigh... he wasn’t choked. No evidence of asphyxiation.
You’re right. Four minutes without oxygen to the brain is a long time. The question is whether the lack of oxygen came from a choke (No evidence) or a cardiovascular incident caused by heart disease, hypertension, fentanyl intoxication, and stress (proof of all four present).

First: Only the amount of force necessary to subdue. Second: Did the Officer do everything he could to preserve life?

  10. 6 minutes ago, LumRaiderFan said:

    Nope

    Running away = Floyd’s fault

Knee on the neck = Chauvin’s fault

There are four videos that we have not seen. In my opinion will be damaging. The body cameras of the four officers.

He tested positive for it postmortem. It’s in the final autopsy report released yesterday. They made it sound like it was already resolved, though, and the autopsy didn’t mention COVID contributing to his death.

The fact is that he was restrained in hand restraints, first aid was not rendered, he was not combative with two officer’s  having him pinned down by his lower extremities and one on his neck. Once the cuffs are on and you are flat on your stomach you are no longer a threat. Leg restraints could have been applied to place him in the vehicle. One Officer did suggest rolling him on his side.
Four minutes without oxygen is a long time.

Why does the media continue to display violence and some feed into it. Why not show police officers who or kneeling and marching in unison and talking to citizens. Instead we feed into it the hate that media displays to stir hate. Just go to a football game you we see some of the most upstanding officers you will ever meet. They care and they support our youth. Bring some good to the forum and let the healing begin.

When he said 'I can't breathe,' unfortunately, many police are under impression that if you can talk that means you're breathing. That is not true," he said during the news conference.
Everything I stated was true from the blood choke to agonal breathing. You my friend are your mothers child.

It appeared some of you were really excited the Hennipan County Medical Examiner’s preliminary findings seemed to support a cause of death other than the officer’s excessive force.   What many of you probably don’t know is often times a county coroner is not even a medical doctor.  What I can tell you is this - doctor or not, whatever hump is the medical examiner in this Minnesota county, his qualifications and expertise will assuredly pale in comparison to Dr. Michael Baden, one of the independent ME’s in this case.  He is one of, if not THE most respected in the world in this field.  Sorry if anyone’s bubble was bursted.

My heart goes out to this young man. You won’t find many that will admit when they are wrong. They will continue to deflect and point fingers.

I’m definitely no boilermaker. I don’t possess those skills. Wish I did.

P.S. I like the use of terms of endearment.  They make me feel all tingly. 😍

Do I not have a right to convey my opinion on this and any other subject? I do not live in Nederland, but I have 3 properties in Nederland and pay my fair share of taxes there. I am also in the construction industry and have a vast knowledge of how long it takes to build anything from a dog house, to a home to a refinery... I have worked on many municipal projects and understand theIr ineptness ofdoing anything in a timely fashion.
    🤔 hmmm.

I do feel for the man who lost his life. How is that comment relevant? And I never said I made a lot of money. I don’t need to do all those things. My standards are pretty low too, by the way. Lol. Can we still call each other sweet names?

You are right. I was wrong.

Does that mean that since there were no repercussions from the OIA or the OIG that they weren’t really like OMG cases?

I’m sorry sweetie,  (OIA) Office of Internal Affairs, (OIG) Office Of Inspector General. I almost forgot I was speaking to a boilermaker. Way above my pay grade. 🙂

But seriously, Mr. @Law Man, when you were investigated. Was there a psychological assessment? Or any form of retaining?

Both cases were cleared by OIA. The cases never made it to OIG. No psychological assessment or any form of retaining.

17 complaints against him over nearly 20 years of his service, all but one of which ended without disciplinary action.

    @tvc184 @Law Man

Is this a typical number of complaints? What would be considered excessive?

In my department,  if you do anything outside the scope of your duties you will be terminated . The Government WILL NOT represent you. If you stay with in the scope of your duties the agency WILL defend you. All complaints will be investigated. I have been placed under investigation twice in my career. I was cleared because I never went outside the scope of my job description.

People will complain when you are by the book.  A small fraction of officers  believe that if people don’t complain, you are not doing your job. It all goes back to training, accountability and integrity.

17 is excessive in my opinion especially if the complaints are consistent. We will never know until the trial.

New video shows he was being kneeled on by two additional officers while he was pinned down by his neck. He complained about his whole body hurting and that he could not breathe.
Place him in the back of the patrol car.  If he resist, use leg restraints.
