Another opportunity for Anahuac to show they are the real deal and that the Freshman QB can battle with some of the best teams in the state. 

Of course I'm aware of that.  I guess what I mean is... How many times has Neece been a head coach where a former Head Coach comes in as an assistant with a son that starts as the varsity quarterback?  I'll add that I've heard that Barrier has a reputation of being pretty well versed in the area.  I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of arrangement was made before the hire about Barrier having a role somewhat. 

I'm sure nobody in the history of ever, has brought their own starting quarterback.

Can't say I disagree.  Don't they have HD on the schedule?  I'm not yet convinced Hardin loses that one.. but they better get this one either way.

I agree. In the end Newton imposed their will and won the game, but the final score wasn’t indicative of how competitive the game was. Anahuac freshman QB is legit and then some throwing the ball! Anahuac will make some noise this year and will only get better. 

If I were in Black and Gold, I'd be just a tad bit upset with the calls I got and/or didn't get. 

EC was absolute garbage prior to Andy Evans arriving and changing absolutely everything for that program moving forward. He did a phenomenal job, not only winning football games, but changing the culture of EC athletics as a whole. They need to put a statue of him out there somewhere or name the stadium after him....something....

So inaccurate. Do a little research before you make yourself look like a fool. The change.org petitions are still out there, full of players signing and justifying the signing by saying they wanted him to stay. An out of control school board member pushed him out because they wanted Haynes back in Hardin. 

It has to be just wonderful for a young man at HD to play sports that knows about this website. A few locals either over hype things are some disgruntled parent is ripping coaches. A small town program that should be able to just play and enjoy their time has been set up for jokes and ridicule by those individuals.  Not smart and definitely not productive. 
 

While I completely agree with that 89 should have better things to do than criticize the few people who are actually trying to keep this website going after the loss of WOSgrad and AAW......Splendora with nicer houses? Come on man.....we've earned a little more credit than that.
Jdawg, thank you for continuing to do the work you are doing so far this year to maintain the quality of this board. I'd assume we will never again find men line WOS and AAW who will put in the work to make this site what it has been, but I applaud your efforts to try and keep it afloat. I know there are talented contributors from each city represented here, I just wish there was a way to bring them into the fold and utilize those talents. It seems that these days time is short for all of us and adding anything extra is crippling. Ignore the idiots who occasionally poke their heads up out of the sand.

Surely you jest.  Remember.. he’s not athletic director.  I’m not sure if he can hire anyone.. at all.  Hopefully he’s at least in on the interviews and making suggestions.  But..

It's complete nonsense to post something like this when there is no confirmation. I know we all love to discuss and predict, but the fun stops when you start interfering with a man's life, livelihood and family. Even if it is true, if he has not had time to tell the players, it's no ones place to try to break that news. I have no idea what is true and what isn't, I just know, this isn't the way.  

By all accounts, I've heard there is a ton of excitement around this hire. Everyone seems to have taken to him and is optimistic about the future with Lackey at the helm. We will see I guess, but I wouldn't bury Liberty yet. There are athletes in that area. If he can get them to come out, stay out of trouble, and buy into his program, he may be successful. I expect WOS to take a downturn, so maybe that helps also.

I think TW gets somewhat slighted for having KM. He was a state title winning offensive coordinator at Garland and won his first title at Allen in '08 over a more talented FB Hightower team. KM may be the best high school QB ever to play in Texas but he wouldn't have gotten near that status had he stayed in Lewisville and played for those 2-8/1-9 Farmer teams at the time. TW benefited from KM playing for him but you also have to say KM benefited greatly from playing for TW too. 
Yes, the 7,000 kids at Allen gives you a much larger talent pool but it by no means dictates that you'll have the most talent. For instance, North Shore only has about 4,500 kids and is 70% Hispanic but has dwarfed Allen over the years in terms of high level prospects produced. Duncanville has about the same number of kids as North Shore but also has "limited" open enrollment meaning they can legally put together a South Dallas select team every year. Duncanville's neighbor Desoto has less than 2,800 kids and Allen can't hold a candle to the school they call Desoto U due to the amount of high level prospects they pump out on a regular basis. 
I'm not saying TW is the greatest coach ever, I'm just saying that some of those "advantages" that a lot of people attribute to his success aren't as much of an advantage as some people make them out to be.
