Wouldn’t think so when his daughter just just tried out for cheer last week and made varsity. Wouldn’t think he’d let her try out if he was going to be leaving.

Nac has been dragging their feet on the hire, maybe he didn't know that he was leaving last week.

Nope completely accurate. I could write a novel about HOW it's accurate. There is no story to come out to justify your perspective. The truth was on display for everyone in the gym to watch. An out of control kid throwing 12 unprovoked punches at an innocent opponent.

Why wasn't it broken up sooner you ask? Well because the on duty cops were in the parking lot dealing with the another player's dad who's been a cancer to the team after he got into an altercation with one the coaches at halftime. The whole thing has been a huge embarrassment to Huffman.

Where's the leadership in the athletic department, if this is going on? Are they stepping up to the plate to handle the issue, or are they allowing it to persist?

Literally any offense. They don’t even run the slot T that well. And the belief that vidor kids “can’t” do a modern offense (a belief that Coach Matthews has shamelessly expressed in news interviews) is baseless. There is nothing different between the PNG / Nederland kids and the Vidor kids except that the Vidor kids’ coaches think the Vidor kids can’t learn how to throw a ball.

    Wut?

Crosby ISD is in a financial bind?!  But they had enough money to pay for a fine, fancy stadium!  It's amazing how gullible we are.  It was proved during the Covid scam.  Lock downs.  Quarantines.  Business closings.  The people of Crosby, like many others, have fallen for the falacy of fancy new stadiums at the expense of what's really important.  Now they are suffering!

This is old news. They've recovered quite well.

I don’t like all the state games being at one place. I know I’m probably in the minority in this situation and it’s great for the fans of high school football (not necessarily the fans of the two teams playing), but way too often the travel difference for the two teams it too big of a gap. I liked it when the two coaches decided. I think if each game was more central to the two teams playing more fans from those teams would be attending. I might be wrong, but that’s my belief.

UIL has made the state championships an event, not just a game. This is the magic of it all. So many people, like myself, make it a tradition to travel up and spend the entire weekend celebrating the greatest sports event there is, TXHSFB. The coaches and fans need to realize, if you make it to state, you are going to be showcased in an arena where a lot of eyes will be on you. If you go back to centralized locations with individual games, all of that pagentry goes away. Do you think Clemson is concerned about having to travel to California to play USC in the national championship game if that is how the schedule falls? No. They probably don't like it, but they're not going to petition to have that game played in Missouri rather than at SoFi.

They know who needs to see playing time to keep their job for 23 years of losing. They know all they need to know imho

Please. Like any coach would choose job security at a place that continually loses (according to you), rather than win. Your clown nose is showing.

  7. This was my tenth year attending the entire weekend, and I can say without a doubt, AT&T is the premiere location for these games. There is no argument to be made except for the one about home field advantage. Having said that, NS has won 3 of 4 from Duncanville with the disadvantage everyone is saying they have by going into AT&T for that game. The DFW teams have an advantage, but it has nothing to do with the location. It's more related to facilities, support and easy ability to move around.

I think the "x-factor" players in this game are: Jayvon Thomas & Billy Walton for SOC and Shea Adams for PNG.

I've been talking about that Adams kid since the start of the season. If PNG wins it wouldn't be surprising if he made the clinching play, vice versa with the 2 studs for SOC I named.

The X-Factor, IMO, is Gary Joseph, who now has a lot of free time to crunch SOC film and help his son game plan to stop their offensive attack. PNG just picked up a additional assistant coach for this one. I really think this will make the difference.
