Great decision by Edinburg ISD. They just set precedent and didn't want on the UIL to do it for them. I promise you, we won't see something like this happen again for a long time since everyone now knows how severe the punishments will be.

They knew this kid was a liability and had potential to pop off at any second. The key words in the article posted above are "best defensive player".....that's the only reason he was out there. Kinda like when Jimmy Johnson coined the phrase "Troy Aikman rules". Had this been a second string receiver, he would've never been in a uniform. The district is absolutely responsible for this happening and should be held accountable. One thing I will promise you, if the UIL comes down hard on the school and coach, you will see this behavior come to an immediate end across the state. Adults seem to be able to get this kind of stuff under control when their jobs are contingent on things other than wins and losses. The article indicates the team won the game and earned their first playoff birth in quite some time. The UIL needs to reverse the decision of the game, or immediately disqualify them from being able to participate in the playoffs.

If they really want to fix this, the UIL would punish the school for this kids actions. Forfeit a game, forfeit the season, monetary fine, whatever it takes to ensure coaches address this behavior way before there is an opportunity for this to happen. You shouldn't have to tell a kid not to attack a referee, (or anyone for that matter) but in 2020 things like common decency are not at the forefront of how people parent. Kids who didn't have consequences growing up are parenting kids who do not get consequences due to their parents and it's a damn shame. The only way to prevent it is to make sure the schools know they will suffer greatly if it happens, and force them to make it a part of their programs to ensure this never happens at their school. This is the second recent incident of this nature that I can remember, and it should be made to be the last.

It seemed like when Huffman stopped being so conservative offensively, they began to move the ball and score. Sadly, that wasn’t until there was about 4 min left in the 4th. Great season Falcons! Already looking forward to next year.

Saw this reported on Channel 2 last night. What is this kid doing? The season is already going, and colleges are taking notes. Had he apologized, slow played this a bit, he may have gotten a chance at the next level. Now, I'm not sure anyone other than JUCO or D3 will want to touch him. Quannel X?? Lawd.

I don't know, I just think they can do better. Assistant at Hull Daisetta, assistant somewhere in Texas City, HC in New Mexico I believe, then 2-4 in one season at Legacy. If Lumberton is forced to settle for that, they're in bad shape. No shot at Stevens, just an observation.

Seven Armstrong, Norris Taff. Seven is really the one I was impressed with. His record at Corrigan Camden was good and I believe he was integral in Livingstons uptick.

Has anyone taken a look at the Livingston coaching staff? Many very good past head coaches on that roster. They will be ready to play. I think it will be a tight game and I give CH the edge because of Rio. But, I am impressed by what Livingston has done this year.

Great win for Finney, but the field goal was questionable. It was a high kick, over the uprights, slow motion video seems to indicate it was wide right and was called good. Great game either way, but the win was not without controversy.

That boy is a stud. Could eventually be the best player to ever come through Hardin (although that’s not saying a ton)......if they will just let Barrier build a program around him.

This. It's called building a program. Hardin will always be Hardin because of this mentality. You have to give someone a chance to create change before you begin attempting to railroad them.
