All the longtime coaches would not have left had things been smooth, and going in the right direction.    
 
You don’t lose those guys, and replace them with younger, inexperienced, less quality guys and continue to win on the level they are accustomed too.
But hey, who cares, they have a head coach, and staff that looks like the rest of the community, or so we are suppose to believe.

Why WOS will continue to fail and be run into the ground for years to come.
Small minded thinking, and backwards as hell.   Why WOCISD has bled students for 2 decades.

If u think 99.9% of the voting citizens in WOCCISD are minority. Then I'd suggest coming and checking on your property more often than sending in a check.

As I've said numerous times. Mustang Nation is everywhere. But yall don't get a vote. KT didn't get a vote. Pup and ET don't get a vote. Toby and Coach Locks don't get a vote. CT and DRH don't get a vote. But you know who does?@WOSdrummer99 & @wo-s#1... and some others here that shall remain nameless. And no telling how many other alumni and former players that still live here. In WOS. And we plan to continue to make a change to what we feel is best for the kids. 
You said 2 years ago that you want the next coach to be black. No 1 has a problem if he is/was/or will be... Any color or shade you'd like to fill in the blank with. He could be a green and gold leprechaun talking about lucky charms. And no1 would care. As long as he didn't screw up what was left for him on a silver & blue platter. Those are the only 2 colors that matter in this conversation. Anyone that says otherwise is clearly not on the right side on reason. We all wanted the best possible coach to be hired. Some thought he was the one and some didn't. But no1 though any less of him because of race. Just like no1 wants him out because he is black. There's plenty of other justifiable reasons for that.

To be fair, someone waking up from a nap from 1965 would be completely nonplussed.  

Assumed you would take it as a compliment and not an attack. But I'm also aware of rules and will take the punishment. It's more than worth it to clear up what some have deemed a racial issue.
It's not. At least not from the public opinions posted here on this site. Talk to people at the games and they'll say the same thing. Talk to former players that dont go to the games, and they'll say it too. Talk to players parents and they tell you things you won't hear here on this site. There are still quite a few things that don't get posted here... for good reason.
No one wants to fire him because he's black. No one is saying he has to be replaced by a white coach. Most are wanting him to be replaced with someone that has adequate knowledge of the traditions of the program. There were other candidates on the list but I don't remember 13. But I do remember my friend getting up at the board meeting and saying this was a sham of a hiring process. And he would know. He was on the committee that was assembled to find replacement candidates. Find them? They should've been beating down the door just for the opportunity to apply here. But that never happened. When H's buddy knew before CT even announced his retirement that H was in line for the job, then yes that's a problem.
But for the last time... the experiment was trying to change everything that had worked for so long. It just happened to be done by a group of inexperienced and unproven staff. I've explained they could've simply rolled with it. And maybe have just as much success as they get now. It would at least be more acceptable by the parents and fan base if we were doing Mustangs Way type things and giving 112%
There are former players as members of this site. Some that post and some that don't. Some of them could've done better keeping traditions. And i know for a fact that when given the opportunity to help they were either turned away or ignored. That's the type of behind the scenes that many of us don't understand. We also saw it in the departure of former players from the staff in the off season.
So why not take a moment to reflect on what H says...
"We're going to go out and we're going to try to execute on offense, execute on defense, and we know it's probably going to come down to the fourth quarter which we've got to find a way to win these type games going forward. "

He wasn’t happy with Hick last year but I guess he’s happy now …he got what he wanted after all,or maybe he’s realizing he should have just kept quiet and let the Hall of  Fame Coach retire on his own terms!

Could very well be the case.   But IMO, the complete lack of leadership within the district, the spineless AD, and opportunity to make more money were major reasons why.
Pretending like BISD is a quality place with great management is not true either.  

WOS isn’t a bad team… they’re just not great anymore and it doesn’t sit well with the Mustang faithful. This is a tough district with Silsbee looking like they’re on the elite level, with WOS, Jasper, and HF all mixing it up for those 2-4 slots. WOS in its current configuration would still win a lot of DCs in most districts… just not the one they’re currently in. 
 
The Glory Days of going to state are gone, and just like it is for most teams, they aren’t  coming back. 
 
It’s no longer a football program with a school, but a school with a football team, just like it should be.

He was slamming his head set on the ground arguing with the ref instead of trying to coach up the team. HF had some good players. La Marque had athletic kids and when coaching left they ended up like this. I honestly hate seeing Wos like this they need a change soon

WOS was more talented, but not by much.   HF was better coached, and it was by a mile.    Coaching definitely trumped athleticism in this one.
Not taking anything away from HF, because they have a lot of very good football players.
I go back to the PNG game and he goes for 2 instead of kicking the XP.    Then tonight, the use 2 timeouts in the 3rd quarter while on defense.    In about a 5 play span.  
 
ITS so  sickening.   Not fair to the kids at WOS, or their fans. 

Coach Wagoneer before he came to HF 142-89 with 4 state championships the guy is a winner. WOS could have gotten a guy like this. Hes probably getting paid less then hickman. 

All teams that beat us are still in the top 10. With 3 games left. BC, Jasper, bye, HJ. We need to get that 3rd seed to have a chance of a playoff win. Of course that's been my goal for the season. To show some of improvement from last year. Remember it's a 6-7 year plan to get back to the level we need to be playing. By that time we could be dropping down to 3a d1. And that's always a recipe for success. 

I got to do something different for my remaining 3 boys besides BISD.  Checking out the Longhorns tonight...

Not sure if you noticed but that’s typically how HSFB works, the more talented team usually wins 9/10 times. Football is all about jimmy’s and joes. Hence why NS & DV has dominated 6A the past few years.

The game was not stopped. Silsbee had the ball and knelt out the remaining time (knelt twice). After the 2nd kneel down the game clock (24 seconds left) was less than what the play clock (40 seconds) so Silsbee just went to the sidelines to get ready for handshake line because they did not need to run another kneel down play. On the last kneel down a WO-S player bulled his way through the line and some players took offense to that. Some pushing and shoving started. From what I saw, the WO-S coaches decided to not have their players go through the handshake line in fear that the chippiness would escalate. I completely understood that call at that time.
I cannot speak on the WO-S alumni jumping any fences. Didn't see any of that on the broadcast.
As for the officials, from watching the broadcast, there were lot's of flags thrown in this game but also there were some extracurricular going on after some plays. Got out of hand a few times.
Neither team should be happy about how some acted in this game. I saw the interview with Coach Smith afterwards and he was very unhappy with how some of his players lost their cool on several occasions during the game. Said he would definitely be addressing that the following week in practice.
