Santos is an embarrassment.  It’s so obvious why spend time on it.  Essentially he’s a RINO.  Ran as a Republican but lies like a Democrat.  How he got to where he is is beyond me.

I just hope Vidor gets a good Coach.  Regardless of the offense - spread, Slot T, Wishbone, doesn’t matter.  Just get the kids mentally thinking they’re unbeatable, and can win every game.  Do that and you’ll be Coach of the Year.

At PN-G, during 1974-1977, Coach Ethridge had talented kids and assistant coaches.  23 all-state players and several assistant coaches that left to become high school head coaches or assistant coaches in the college ranks.  Kids like Wilson Weber, Kyle Aguillard, Richy Ethridge, Randy Ethridge, Ted Brack, Justin Eicher, and Robert DeRutte do not come through Mid-County very often.  Very talented kids.  Assistant coaches like Greg Davis, Tim Nunez, Bruce Bush, Paul Carswell, and Ken Clearman were successful at PN-G and they sustained success after they left The Reservation in 1977.  You can find a video on YouTube where Jeff Powers productions interviewed Doug and Richy Ethridge about PN-G's success during 1974-1977, and both of them stated that PN-G's success was a combination of talented kids, great assistant coaches, and legendary community support.  The core values of Honor, Pride, and Tradition, which have been taught at PN-GISD for nearly 100 years, also played a part.  PN-G gets laughed at for being a bedroom community or cult-like for its commitment to its traditions, history, and core values, but all those pieces of the puzzle are what good coaches look for in a job.  Coach Ethridge was elite before he came to PN-G and he was elite after he left PN-G.  Regardless of his W-L records or all-time wins number, he was the greatest Chief of the Tribe and second place is not anywhere close.
Another great coach that had talented kids at Hebert and West Brook was Alex Durley.  He, too, had great assistant coaches.  Combine great coaches with talented kids over in Beaumont, and viola, Herbert won and West Brook won...a lot.  Durley teams played great defense, ran the ball down your throat, and they didn't turn the ball over.  You had to beat Hebert because they were not going to beat themselves with dumb plays and turnovers.
Dan Hooks...Cornell Thompson...Curtis Barbay...Steve Shaver...the list goes on.  All great coaches that put trophies in the trophy case.  Remember those French Buffs in 1984..."Solid...Solid as a Rock!"  Those teams had strong coaching staffs and talented kids.
I'm a Larry Neumann fan, too.  He's another elite coach.  I don't care that he never won a title.  He was an elite coach.  He also had an elite DC in Delbert Spell.  Together they maximized the talent that passed through NISD and they won a lot of games against better competition.  Excellent football program at NISD under Neumann.  Very well coached and prepared to compete.  What more can you ask for?  I'd line up for coaches like Ethridge and Neumann all day long.  Very similar coaching talents and philosophies - play good defense, take care of the football, and when you have opportunities to make big plays...roll the dice and take your best shot.  I wrote a lot of words to say that winning championships takes talent + coaching.

It happens every night on "that" side of town.... the only reason anybody cares is that there were cops involved in this one.  There are two explanations for why people aren't rioting right now.
    1.  It's purely about race and is always the case, nobody cares about the epidemic of black men murdered by other black men. If those cops were white, this would have been worse than George Floyd's riots.  But since there's not a racial element, the masses don't care.  The media does, but you don't see much carrying on at all.
    2.  The riots only occur when a Republican is President.  That's also a fact.

Always wondered about that.  My theory, he had surrounded himself with some outstanding assistance Coaches, and like a team, together they made things happen.  Split them up and the above record is what you ended up with.

That is out of control people who likely should never have been officers. They exist.
I wonder what selection criteria they used to put extremely young (in experience) officers in that position. This wasn’t patrol officers. It was a special unit probably to stop violent crime, probably by profiling. Was it based on “their” community which is what I have seen enough times… do they look like us?
At times young officers are needed but they should be mixed with more senior officers. I don’t know if it is true but I heard that these officers were between two and five years in experience.
What was their mission? What parameters were they given?
This was not only a violent crime but a failure in leadership. I doubt this was 5 officers with no issues and no valid use of force complaints who all collectively lost it on this one incident because a guy ran. I have been in and initiated many foot chases and have never seen officers do that.
I was driving (as the commander of a street crimes unit just like this) with another officer about 15 years ago. There was a call of an armed (aggravated) robbery at gun point…. of a police officer’s wife. We spotted the suspect and were in an unmarked vehicle. We jumped out on him and he fled on foot. The suspect was supposed to have a pistol on him but we didn’t see it in his hand but certainly he could have pulled one out and shot within a couple of seconds. (We had an officer shot in that exact situation who still has the bullet in him) This was not just a traffic stop we were on. It was a potential deadly force situation with a violent felony suspect who we had probable cause to believe was armed.
We tackled him and he went to the ground face first but put his arms under his body. Was he going for a gun? My partner and I called for help (probably more like screamed in the radio 😂) and held on to both arms to try and keep him from pulling out a weapon. Yes it was pretty intense. Were we justified in using more force? Probably.
A minute or so later two officers over 6’ tall and over 250 pounds each got there. Each one latched onto an arm and pulled them out like pulling apart a wishbone.
He had no gun on him and apparently had stashed it. But… the probable cause was there to believe that he was armed after committing a violent crime and we actually knew the victim personally. If there was any justification to understand losing control of emotions, that might certainly  be understandable in the eyes of many people. However, all that happened to the guy was that he was tackled and handcuffed.
How to justify that much anger because a guy fled doesn't seem rational. Angry? Sure but this was out of control. Emotionally anyone involved including civilians would want to rough this guy up. This wasn’t a bar fight.
    imo…….

I was making light of the person who said the coach must win state in so many years or else. That’s ridicules. An elite program like WO-S only has 4 state championships, Newton only 5. There are 62 teams that start out in each division, only one is crowned.

Or this, use the little grey cells nature gave you to post an original thought rather than having to simply use someone else’s thoughts and simply changing the words?  Too hard?  Evidently.  Are you even aware how many times Schiff claimed to have proof of Trump’s involvement in Russian Collusion?  Me neither but the number would be staggering.  So for you to support him is proof that you fall for doublethink.  Really guy, you should be able to see this.  How you can’t is simply mind boggling to me.
