I agree cougar, but they would've been totally out of line. IMO Haley was pushing the limits himself, but he wanted their attention and I bet he got it. I'm not excusing the actions of many young black athletes, but most have been "spoiled" by coaches, fans, and many teachers, probably since early youth. It's just another sad aspect of our society now. How many young people say yessir and yes mam? Thank you? I doubt most know what it means. Having manners is cheap. No cost, but it'll give you a step up. And more importantly, it's how civilized people should interact with one another. I'll get off my soapbox now.

IMO there's enough evidence on and about Sandra Bland to say she committed suicide. All this crap about another DA - another Med Examiner - nuther this and that, just a witch hunt. One question to all - Anyone read anything recently about an epidemic of folks being "copycats"? Probably cud be worded better, but look at what's happened recently. Woman hangs herself - Nat coverage, now several do it. T. Martin, then several more, like martyrs. Saw films of the guy who died after his arrest running into the wall hitting head first. Is there something about today's society causing this? I'm afraid I'm out of touch and durn sure not educated enough to figure it out. Is it as simple as "keeping up with the joneses" on steroids? I'll be watching for future confirmation. Just find it all weird, or strange. Seriously, I'm curious. Any ideas? Am I reading to much into this?

Cougar, I read above you dislike posting on politics. I can understand some of that. Oh, I don't mind smacking down on something like global warming, cause I try to add a little humor. That's what I enjoy, but I definitely don't want to offend anyone, so some subjects, like race relations, makes choosing your words very carefully. So many variables. One is perspective. For example, when I posted earlier, being older than water, it was based on @ 60 yrs, and BG answer with his view, based on 15 years or so because he's just a young whipper snapper (joke BG). Looking through the posting here one common "problem" is pointed out by virtually all, the media. Originally, the media/press, for the most part, reported news for the populaces enlightenment. Now it's to further their own ambitions, and if they have to enhance or distort the story, so be it. Not the only problem as we all pointed out, but perhaps the biggest.

So if I understand the postings from earlier, they're basing there beliefs that man/cows/carbon fuels are causing Global Warming, on Scientist that are getting paid by the Govt (via grants) to say there is global warming. Now these same scientists are iced in. Isn't cyclical. Isn't sun flare cycles. What kind of scientist disregards these things? One getting paid. Heck, if Govt paid me a million, I'll tell all of you we're causing it (yes, I can be bought lol). Great post steve

I agree Bmt. Like me, I'm sure all wish they could wave a magic wand and make us "all one". I'll take a moment to address thug. Coug may be right about subing for N word, but if so, I'd have to point my finger at the media. I've rarely heard anyone use the word in my 65+ years. On the other hand I've read it numerous times. It's scary how the media influences our perceptions and thoughts. Race relations improving? Agree with Whoa, has improved greatly since the 50's. I think on a graph, it would go up for many years, but now trending downward. I think all agree that it was so low in the 50's because of whites. IMO it's now tracking down because of blacks. Don't get bent outta shape just my opinion. Reasons: Obama, and thus the National Media, getting personally involved in, what from what we're told, justifiable black deaths by the police. And the constant accusation of racism by blacks. I think, as for as most whites go, this drives a wedge between whites & blacks. Again, just IMO, for in a discussion like this, each will see things he likes, dislikes, and on rare occasions, a few are enlightened.
